Oh they are from before 1973 for sure! Goody! Vintage sounds so much more expensive!!!:teeth:

Okay guys. How are your auctions doing this weekend? Mine are slow! They all end tomorrow, and as of now, no bids! That's what a nice day of weather on the weekend will do I guess!

Anyone having better luck?

Hope I get some action tomorrow!!!!!!

I picked a stupid time to end mine.....at like 8am, argh!! I wasn't thinking when I listed them. I have quite a few with no bids right now, and some that I listed tonight (again stupid, because who bids on a saturday night when it is ending?!). I really need to start waiting until sunday nights to list, but I just get anxious to put my yard sale finds up there right away hoping someone will use "buy it now". Well..so far I've made a couple hundred this month and that has bought my connections vouchers and paid for the MNSSHP tickets :)

So-so this weekend. Darn this nice weather! :p I have about 8 things ending tomorrow and 3 have bids.

Actually I'm listing a few things tonight (taking a break right now) and doing 3-5 day auctions w/ BIN's - so hopefully it'll be a good week before the holiday *fingers crossed*

I made about $300 in the past week, so I definitely can't complain!

Lori

I finaly broke down and got started - I have 11 items that end in two days - 1 bid and one inquiry. Hopefully someone else will bid before before they end.

Yep...things seem to be pretty slow right now.. I sold 6 of 7 things in ending auctions yesterday and only one had more than one bid on it.. Course I still made more than I would have in a garage sale, so I'm not grumbling "too" bad.. LOL

I listed six more items yesterday for 5-day auctions and no bids yet.. Seems like people are really, really waiting till the last possible minute to bid and thus getting the items for the starting price..

Going to try to get a few more auctions running today, but if I don't I'm not going to worry about it because I think with next weekend being Memorial Day it's going to be HORRENDOUSLY slow..

Maybe I'll spend the next week or so sorting through stuff I have packed away in the back bedroom for the garage sale I was going to have "someday".. Who knows what goodies I'll find??

Hang in there guys - this is no worse than having your garage sale rained out - right??????????;)

Don't mean to brag or anything since most of ya'll say your things aren't selling but I listed more VINTAGE barbie and dawn dolls last night for a 5 day auction, 7 more listings for like $45.00, this morning I took a look and all have bids for more than $100.00 with four days to go.

I tell you, these VINTAGE dolls and clothes go for a LOT OF MONEY, more than I would ever thought of. So, those of you out there that do garage sales, start looking for the barbie dolls that have dates from the 60's, just one doll yesterday sold for $101.00. I'm too lazy to go looking at garage sales, LOL!! After this round of listings, I'll be out of the EBAY business unless I get off my backside and start scouring garage sales.

My goal has been met, made enough for a down payment on a new car so I can drive (darn those high airfares from Dallas) to WDW in September, WOO HOO!!!!

Good luck to the rest of you Ebayers out there.

Would you believe I have one of the very FIRST Barbie's out in my garage in a trunk - as well as the ORIGINAL first Ginny doll (from the 50's) - but can't GET to them because I have so much JUNK in there??? Maybe I should make THAT my project for this week - huh????? How much do you think they might go for? Were yours in "perfect" condition? I'm sure mine aren't - not broke or anything, but certainly not perfect either..........

dturner,
Thanks for all the advice on the dolls. I have one box of old dolls I'm going to look through today. I only had one or two Barbie Dolls growing up, and who knows what happened to them, but maybe what I do have is worth something.

I don't even know why I have been saving them all these years. Someone always says, "Save that, it'll be worth something someday." But it gets to the point that you need a warehouse to save all the "somethings"!!

Off to check eBay. Hopefully I'll have some bids! Another nice day here. You know what that does!!

Oh my goodness C.Ann! I would totally make that your project for the week! I'm not sure what that'd go for, but I bet it would be worth all your effort ;)

Sheesh and to think I was excited when I found my old Strawberry Shortcake juice set which has been selling for $20  :p

Lori

Yes, C. Ann I would make that my project. That doll could be worth hundreds!!!! My doll was in very good shape, collectors look for hair missing, painted features on face clear, no missing fingers or toes, etc. One bidder sent me about 30 questions to answer on the condition of that one Barbie doll, it was perfect according to the collector, that's probably why it went for $101.00 (probably worth a lot more than what they paid but I was VERY HAPPY for what it went for).

I remember as a child my Mom always yelling at me to "keep your dolls nice and neat because some day they will be worth something," I guess that "some day" has arrived for me. Just wish I could find all my dolls, no telling what happened to most of them, only found 2 Barbie dolls and I know I had more than 2 dolls.

LOVE these LAST minute shoppers!! :teeth:

After SUFFERING all of this time people are JUMPING ON my Disney tapes!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!

I am soooo psyched. I now have my sister on it now. She never dealt with Ebay before yesterday and she has bought $400 worth of stuff in less than 24 hours! :earseek:

Putting up 6 more items tonight to end Thursday. I leave for Orlando on Saturday. This is sooo awesome!

Thanks to everyone for getting me started!! :bounce:

Well, ladies and gentlemen....

I SOLD all of my ending auctions!! (well, all but one because I gave it a very high reserve mainly because I didn't really want to sell it unless I got a good profit on it! :p )

This is one HECK of a way to spend a Sunday afternoon!! :bounce:

Would you please point your $400 spending sister in my direction??

 See what she gets for not being "in class"?????

She's supposed to be selling - not BUYING !!!! LOL

OK........is it me or is anyone else having trouble parting with their old Barbies??? My are from early 70's late 60's. I guess I'm not ready to sell them yet. I sold my DD McD's Fisher Price Toy collection and wished now I would have kept it in the attic. I only got $20.00 for 25 toys!

Hey! If it will give me $$$$ towards my trip to Disney World, I'll sell anything !! Unfortunately my DH "claims" he really, really NEEDS his oxygen machine... Dang - those things go for a grand or better!! LOL

Now if I could just "sneak" his Hess toy truck collection past him when he nods off.... Shhhhhhhhh.....

LOL, I wish she could buy from ME!

My sister loves Coach handbags and spends a BUNDLE on them. Well, her favorite attache case was stolen last month and she's been determined to get another one.

Well, since I introduced her to the plusses of SEARCH she's found her lost bag AND another one AND a keychain for a fraction of the cost.

C.Ann, I am TRYING to get her to sell some of her stuff. She has some incredible classic stuff which she just hordes. No way is she going to sell anything. The good thing is she's letting ME pay for them with our Amex and I get all the good feedback! :p

Well, I checked my email and got my FIRST Paypal CC payment! This is so cool! And the fees are very low. I'm glad I upgraded.

Right now I'm trying to get my son in bed so I can rifle through his stuff! :p

RobinRS: Right now I'm trying to get my son in bed so I can rifle through his stuff!

Be careful: I'm in a room absolutely filled with board books, lift the flaps, Elmos, Sesame Street, Barneys, Teletubbies, Cliffords, all of which the DD said "yes" to--and just when I get something photographed and described as part of a lot, she suddenly decides she can't bear to part with it, and it's a big fight.

I suppose it would be bad form to sell the 7yo and keep the Cliffords?? <kidding. Just kidding.>:)

Are we a pathetic bunch or what??? You want to sell your kid - I want to sell my DH's oxygen machine.. LOL

I'm thinking after we all finish this "class" and make our trips to Disney World, when we get back we may have to start another class - a 12-step program to deal with our addiction!!!!!!!

Yay eBay!!!!!
