BTW, does anyone know if I can post a listing a few hours or day after submitting it? Is that possible?

LOL, I just read your responses!

My son is BEYOND anal but goes through stages with things he MUST have. After he's over it he puts them in a neat box and puts them under his bed, NEVER to be checked out again.

If I remove them he will never know but if I DARED ASK.... :earseek: faGETaboutIT!!

Soooooo, I become the MEAN MAMA FROM heck and hide all of the cherished videos and books that he could care less about! :p

hmmmmm....

You're bidding for a very neat, OCP ten year old boy with an intensive collection of Sesame Street, Disney and television memorabilia. He can be sweet but you must never go into his room and beware because he WILL eat you out of house and home.

Starting bid: $1 million dollars (reserve has not been made yet)
Shipping/handling: Priceless
Insurance: Pediatric (required)

No personal checks! :teeth:

Yep - you can! But it will cost you ten cents extra per listing.. Look under where you choose the number of days for your auction and it says something about the start date and time - that's where you choose the date and time you want if you don't want it to start right now..

I do that sometimes because I list at all odd hours and I don't think too many people on the west coast are going to drag themselves out of bed at 3:30 in the morning to get in a bidding war on books or videos - LOL!! My very FIRST item I ever put up for bid was an ink cartridge for a printer and I forgot all about the time difference.. It ended at like 3 in the morning on the west coast - but I still made a very, very nice profit.. Got lucky on that one - LOL!!;)

Thanks, C.Ann!

This is important because I can only post when "my son" is not around!! I hate to end an auction on Thursday at noon!

janette!! :earseek:

$15,000 for a PLATE?? What the .....

Can you imagine? $15k for something the seller probably thought would fetch $15 bucks!

On a related note, is anyone else ever surprised at how much some of what you consider to be your 'junk' is selling for? Stuff that I thought might go for $5 goes for $30. And stuff that I thought might go for more, goes for less. It's a total gambling rush!

My closets are getting emptier and my wallet is getting fuller :)

I am not having nearly the results many of you are, and I keep running into these little snafus! Argh!

I have a buyer with an FPO. I went to calculate the postage just to see if it would be any different, and it wasn't, but it also said I would need a for 2976 to go with it, and, or maybe this is part of that form, a customs declaration. I can't find this form on the website, so I'm not really sure what it entails.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Does anyone know what this form consists of? Am I going to have to pay some sort of customs fee?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to have an idea what I'm in for before I reach the PO as I usually have at least one child in tow and this is starting to sound complicated!

Should I have said I don't ship to APO/FPO addresses?

Also, I still have a buyer from an auction that closed a week ago who I haven't heard anything from. I'm going to send another email, and I saw something earlier about getting their "contact" information, but I can't figure out how to do that???

Thanks everyone!

Customs Forms

Sorry, I did find the forms on the usps website, and a bit more information, but I can't enlarge them enough to read what all they say - so if anyone can let me know what they consist of, that would be great! It's not a form I can print online and fill out before I go, so I'll have to do it at the PO.

It sounds like any fees would be paid by the buyer/receiver of the package, is that right?

Thanks again!

I sent a package to an APO address and when I got to the po they got out a form and asked me the questions and filled it out, then I had to describe the contents and sign it...not hard at all really.

Are we a pathetic bunch or what??? You want to sell your kid - I want to sell my DH's oxygen machine.. LOL

I'm thinking after we all finish this "class" and make our trips to Disney World, when we get back we may have to start another class - a 12-step program to deal with our addiction!!!!!!!

C.Ann,
You crack me up!!!!! It's amazing what we all will do for Disney isn't it?

I don't know if this has been mentioned (I just found this thread and 28 pages is a lot to read!), but there are some good auction management websites.

One good one that comes with picture hosting is SpareDollar. It is only $4.99 a month and also has that cool gallery box you see in some auctions. It has post auction features also. There is also InkFrog which is similar to SpareDollar.

I think it's great that so many of you have tread into e-Bay waters! Because of e-Bay I was able to quit my job last year and be a stay-at-home mom with DD. Next year I'll be trying my hand at homeschooling too!

TWINKLINGSTARS4U: I also homeschool my little boy but I also work full time. I really enjoy doing the homeschooling thing and I hope you enjoy yourself as well, it's very rewarding.

I am SOOOOOOO tempted to do this!! I only work 3 days a week right now - Tues., Wed. & Thurs. - but I absolutely, positively HATE my job!!! Right now I'm fighting with myself to get things ready to go in tomorrow..

Any hints on how you managed it????

Okay everyone! What are you doing about Memorial Day Weekend? Does anyone have any auctions up that are ending Sunday or Monday?

Weather around here looks like its going to be crap for the entire weekend, but that still leaves out the rest of the country. I'm trying to decide if I should put up auctions to end on Monday night, or Tuesday night? Any insite? What are you guys doing?

Hmmmm.. Weather is supposed to be bad here too, but that could change between now and then..

I'm not sure what to do because I have a few things to list that really need the exposure of a full 7 days.. I may list a few things that I'm not too fussy about - with an ending of Tuesday night..

What's everyone else doing?

I think I am going to let my current auctions end and then not list until Sunday evening. I'm afraid that my stuff won't get the exposure that they normally would without the holiday. What is everyone doing?
