For awhile now I've been selling mostly dds outgrown clothes and other stuff. Well today I listed some cds and I was wondering, for those of you who've been selling cds, what's the best way to pack them? Thanks!

I just sold two cd's, cd-rom's actually, and put them in bubble mailers (less than 60-cents each at Walmart). I ship using Priority Mail so I know it gets to the buyer in a few days. The cost is probably doubled, but I think it's worth it (and the buyer pays for it) as Media Mail can take a week to arrive.

Media Mail can actually take several weeks sometimes. If you are going to ship this way, I always state that in the auction. I will give the buyer to have it shipped priority for additional money. Most still pick Media Mail, because it is usually $2-3.00 cheaper.

I too stick CD's in a bubble mailer however if it is only one CD it is cheaper for me to mail first class then media mail and that's with DC(.13). If it's more then one media mail with DC is what I do. I've been able to get bubble mailers at Walgreens for buy 2 get 1 free for $1(which is .33 a piece) when they are on sale. I have so many CD's to sell however I think I will order from one of the online sellers they are usually cheaper but you have to buy in bulk.
For those of you who rember my post about sealed decanters I didn't drink all of the profits:) I looked on eBay for others that were selling full and decided that I would sell them full and add the disclaimer that DMrick had found on eBay(thanks:) ). They seem to sell better full.
I had a really good day finding stuff to sell. There was a estate auction and stuff was going dirt cheap nothing sold for more then $7 I really stocked up:) .
Thanks for listening to me ramble;)

Argh!!!!

Having problems getting the shipping assistant to work. The first error says my username and password aren't recognized. So I go through and register, then I get a message that says the server is down for maintenance. So I call USPS and they say my ISP needs to refresh their DNS server. They do, I refresh me DNS lookup on my computer, and restart. I get the same errors.

Has anyone else experienced this? Please PM me.

Priority boxes and tape are free so it might be cheaper to just surround them with packing material such as bubble wrap or newsprint.

This definitely calls for a repeat of this info.

Go to www.usps.com, click on Buy Stamps and Shop, under Shop, click on shipping supplies, then click on Personal Products, under Browse Store, click on Priority Mail and ORDER AWAY. It's all free, no shipping and handling and they offer more things than you can pick up at the Post Office.

Over the phone I was asked if I wanted my return address added to the labels :earseek: which I thought was incredible, and about 4 days later they arrived with my name and address printed on the top! Now I have to get some with my NEW address.

I just gt a buy it now. Its going to a youth detention center with a p.o.box. I'm sending it priority mail. Do they deliver pririty mail to a p.o.box. TIA

I have some of these materials on order. It takes a number of days to have them delivered.

Okay guys I need help!

I am sure you know I am waiting for a book I bought to arrive and as of this week it will be 1 MONTH!
So if it does not arrive tomorrow I want to take some action.....the question is what?
I know I should call and even though I am not entirely comfortable with that I guess I should. But what do I say? How do I even introduce myself? I am terrible at this! Also if I do not get the item what recourse do I have? I suppose I am out the money(I paid through paypal) ??
Do I report them somewhere at ebay?

Also I am having a heck of a time researching these old books on ebay...I really can't find anything similar. Any ideas?

Also Dungeons and Dragons stuff......there is alot of it out there any one have any luck with these? My DH has tons of it...some original stuff from way back too.

Thanks!!!!

"Hi, I bought a book off you from eBay. It's been 30+ days I haven't gotten it yet. My user name is blahblahblah." I believe that you can file a non-performing seller report on eBay and you can request your $ back through PayPal, but I've never done it, so maybe someone else can better answer your question!

YESSSSS!!! I bought a bunch of these at an Estate Sale for $0.25/each. They sold for anywhere between $3 and $27 EACH! (These are all the soft cover booklets, no hard covers). Also, make sure you note in each auction that you have "other D&D books/modules up for auction and you will gladly combine shipping" (that is, if you will) I had several multiple buyers which made life a lot easier. Gotta tell you, even though most of these folks paid by money order, they were fast payers with great communication. Some of the best buyers I've dealt with on eBay!

HTH!

I had this problem also and twinklingstars4u helped me out!

If dealing with the seller does not work and it's been less than 30 days (hopefully) you can go through the PayPal Buyer Complaint Process.

Go to Paypal and click on help, this will take you to the Help Center. Scroll down the Top Questions to the question about Buyer Complaint process and go from there. Make sure you have the transaction number.

From the site:

Before proceeding with your complaint:
Attempt to resolve your complaint with the seller and wait a reasonable amount of time for the item to arrive. Many disputes arise over late shipments or other delays. Contact the seller to see if that happened in your case.

Get the Transaction ID for your payment. The Transaction ID is necessary for us to investigate your complaint. To find the Transaction ID, click on the Get Transaction ID link below.

Make sure the contact information in your Account Profile is correct. Because we will need to be able to contact you regarding your complaint, ensure that your daytime phone number is accurate. To access and verify the information in your Account Profile, go to the Profile subtab of the "My Account" tab. Use the links in the left-hand column to verify your address, phone number, and email.
If you need to return to this page later, go to the "Security Center" link from the footer of any page and select the "Buyer Complaint Form" link.

This helped me because they contacted my buyer who BTW, only mailed it AFTER PayPal contacted him with my complaint.. I eventually got it and cancelled the process after I did.

Hope that helps!

For anyone interested..this is posted on the Vendio eBay boards:

"eBay have been removing auctions that contain a baconbuttie logo, or a link to the baconbuttie site."

If you have the script, you may get this when relisting:

"Attention Sellers: It appears that your listing may violate eBay’s policies that regulate how an item can be promoted. Sellers may not link or make reference to web sites that offer to trade, sell or purchase goods or services outside of eBay. This includes links and references to other auction-style sites. Thanks for posting that info as I believe quite a few on this thread use the baconbuttie link....

Hi, again I need your help. I have an item up for auction with a reserve price thats not yet met. It probably won't meet it. The auction goes off today, so I'll wait and see. Anyway, I got an e-mail from a wmen who asked me if the item doesn't sell would I sell it for her at my reserve price. I would. But, I don't know how to sell it like that. Can anyone tell me how to sell it to her for my reserve price if that price is not met at auction end. WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT ALL YOU PEOPLE. THANKS AGAIN.....

dg39,

I believe your best option is to use the 'second chance' feature. I'm pretty sure I read that second chance is available when an auction fails to meet its reserve price. After the auction closes, goto the 'bid history' page and click the 'second chance' option. This only works if the person has bid on the item and accepts second chance offers, of course.

Failing that, just relist the item with a buy it now for the reserve price and email your buyer.

Shipping Assistant question:

I am using the USPS shipping assistant for the first time. The whole label is too big for my box. Am I supposed to cut between where the customers address ends and where the delivery confirmation starts? If so, where on the box do I put the delivery confirmation? Thanks for you help!!

I'm pretty sure I read that second chance is available when an auction fails to meet its reserve price.

Second chance is when you have two of the same item (or perhaps the high bidder didn't end up the purchaser) and you offer it to the next higher bidder.

If the item hasn't ended yet, and she offered the reserve amount..why doesn't she bid the reserve amount?

That's exactly what I was thinking! Hopefully she'll go for it! :D

On another note....I have FINALLY updated my About Me page and I've spent the day sorting clothes. Going to TurboLister now....hope to have some auctions up tonight. :D

Hello all!

After intently reading this thread (it literally took me *all* weekend!) I am taking the Ebay plunge!

I have registered on ebay, signed up for a premiere pay pal account and purchased a digital camera today, whew!

I am hoping to get a couple of disney items listed tonight, *if* I can figure out how to upload the pics and make a nice listing
:)

Thank you for so much helpful information ...I have really enjoyed reading your posts and have learned a lot.

Wish me luck!!!

Hey Everyone,

Fellow Disney Addict here...

I have been reading all of the posts on this e-bay thread. Well, not all of the posts, but I am on page 37 and have several pages on notes!

Anyhow, I do have a question. I have several items with the prices tags attached. Should I listed these NWT (new with tag) or take the price tag off. For example, I have a duffle bag that my dh bought well over a year a ago but has never used. It has a $19.99 price tag on it. Should I snip that off, leave it on or what?

G.
