You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

No I havne't raised my Handling Fee because of Gas. I did raise it when I started to accept Credit Cards through Paypal.

And I do have to admitt, getting paid is SOOO much easier when I don't have to deny CC payments. In fact I am still waiting on payment for a couple of items from 3 weeks ago and last weeks are all paid and mailed.

OMG! OMG! OMG!
I have to brag.

I listed an item (a collectible) at 12:30 my time today. I checked email around 4 pm to find that it was purchased instantly with BIN. . . and the buyer paid instantly with PayPal.

I am so excited!

Not that want to sell the item, it was my grandmother's, but I haven't done anything with it in over a year (needs a small repair) and it's one more thing taking up space. Plus I really need the cash (half for my vacation and half 'cause DD needs clothes desparately).

A wierd problem. I went to the PO today and had a package. Well, it was a package that was returned after the buyer did not pick it up. Apparently he/she got several notices and never went to pick it up. The person is still on ebay. The sale was over a month ago, and I haven't heard anything from the person about not receiving their item. They paid a pretty low price for some fairly expensive clothes. Any suggestions - should I offer a refund of the purchase price? Offer to re-ship if they pay shipping again? Give them both options.
I checked the address and everything was fine, confirmed address and everything. Very bizarre.
Suggestions?

Handling Fee:

Has anyone raised their handling fee to compensate for the higher price of gas?

No. The PO could, technically within walking distance. But since I mostly sell PC's and Laptops, I dont think that would be a good thing to walk.

The PO is also on my way to work, so all I do would turn right into a plaza and park.

That could be a few things.

1) The buyer bought it for a gift, and the giftee got it from someone else

2) It was a suprise and they found it

3) It could also be an issue about possibly a I don't want anymore Ebay stuff in the house issue with the person and who they are living with.

4) They may have changed their mind, and just don't want it.

Personally, I would contact the buyer and just ask what they want to do.

I would email the buyer and tell them that you got their item returned to you because they didn't pick it up at the PO. Then I wouid tell them that you need additional postage to sent it to them again. If they refuse this or ask for a refund, I would refund ONLY the bid price, not shipping, since you did ship the item.

But it was Saturday, lol.

I had one of the beanies I sold a couple months ago come back also. I sent an email and she replied that she had been on a business trip and just to resend. I told her I would need the postage again to resend and she said she would send a M.O. Needless to say it never arrived. She left me positive feedback immediately after the auction saying how easy it was (duh!). I think she must have been trying to clean out her ebay before she left on her trip and screwed up and left it for me too. So I don't have to worry about a neg.

Oh yeah......Anyone heard any free listing day rumors? I could really use one!!!

We did a 5 minute auction. We put one item up and five minutes later it sold with BIN!

I lost a bid but just 2 hrs later got a Second Chance offer on the item. What could have happened in that short of time? Does this sound fishy? The seller only has 4 feedback ratings, but they're good. Have there been scams when buying from Second Chance offers?

what would be seen as a fair shipping price for a single dvd?
I just weighed a DVD along with a padded envelope and it weighed 6oz. So you could send it first class for $1.52, media $1.42 or priority $3.85.

I would most likely charge $3.99 for first class; $5.99 priority, since I do had a handling fee.

Second chance offers can be used if the seller has multiples of the same item. You are still covered through ebay for second chance offers.

They just had more than one to sell. I've done that with some bras I bought on clearance.

I just had a close call! I used TurboLister to list one item (for $7.99). Somehow the Home Page Feature item got checked (you know, the $39.95 option!!). I just happened to click on my seller account to check my invoice (which I never do usually) and saw the huge charge! I went to the Live Ebay help right away, and they told me to end the auction and they would credit my account, which they did immediately. I was really freaked out there for a minute!! Note to self : ALWAYS check ebay fees before uploading a listing!!!

Maybe the highest bidder changed their mind. I had second thoughts on something once and e-mailed the seller asking if they could see if the next highest bidder still wanted the item and i would pay the difference, it was only a $1 difference in our bids. The second chance offer was turned down so i told the seller i would buy the items. I"m really glad that i was the one to buy them, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Another "please add a buy it now" question.

I know that usually when someone requests for you to add a buy it now option so they can purchase it right away, that it probably isn't a good idea to do so because there is a good chance the item is "hot" and will sell for much more than you thought.

But here is my situation. I have up for auction 2 packages of little girls underwear NEW IN PACKAGE ( I wouldn't sell used underwear!!). THese were packages I meant to return to the store but could never find the receipt. So I listed them on eBay hoping to get the $1.99 plus shipping that I listed them for. I wasn't sure how many people would buy underwear off of eBay!! I listed them Sunday night and today someone wants me to add a buy it now because she really wants the item but won't be in town when the auction ends and she is afraid of missing out on them. (her story, at least). Anyway, would you add a buy it now?? I don't even know what I would set it at. I can't imagine this is one of those "hot item" scenarios so I am kind of leaning towards adding the BIN.

What would you set the BIN at for 2 packages of 3 pairs each (so 6 pairs total) of Hanes her Way Girls Underwear in size 6??? I probably paid $4 to $5 per pack?

And, I guess the second question would be would you add the BIN??

Maggie

On something like this, I would add the BIN cause, like you said, it is not one of those things that are going to go sky high, more than likely. I would definitely set the BIN price at $5.99 or a little higher or so, no lower. That way, you get SOME profit and if she thinks it is too high, she'll pass. If you got them on sale for that price you said, make it full retail. If she wants them bad enough, she will most likely pay!
