You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

Can you tell by the shipping weight if all pieces were mailed? I had a guy tell me that he only received the manuals but no games and I could tell that with out a doubt that they had been sent from the shipping weight.

I would respod to the person simply asking if the package appeared to be open or damaged during shipping.

What C.Ann said. The buyer may be getting ready to do a switcheroo..but only you can decide if the $5 is worth a neg. You can return the $5 and put something in place to protect yoruself the next time (picture of all parts), or you can stand your ground on "principle" and eat a neg. For me, neg aside, it's not worth the argument I see coming.

here's another email I just got. The first one came in last night

Dear phorsenuf,

About the games, please respond to my emails about the game you misrepresented. If no reply is received, you will get negative feedback and then some. Teri

here's another email I was going to send instead f the first one.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to resolve your challenge with your purchase. While your threat of negative feedback was certainly unnecessary since I only received your initial email at 4/26/2004 8:46:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time, and I do not check my email at night, I will be happy to help you. The game was sent with all the pieces included. I don't know how it could be that there are pieces missing therefore I do not feel the item was mis-represented in any way. What would I possibly have to gain by sending that particular game with the paintings missing? It is not worth jeopardizing my ebay reputation and account over a mere $5.00. However, based on your exemplary feedback record, I will trust that you are being honest with me. With that in mind, I will refund your purchase price of $5.00 and shipping charge. I will be more than happy to do that when the game has been returned to me.
Once again, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to resolve the challenge you are having with your purchase.

What do you all think?

here's how I revided the email

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to resolve your situation with your purchase. What would I possibly have to gain by sending that particular game with the paintings missing? It is not worth jeopardizing my ebay reputation and account over a mere $5.00. Was the package damaged or tampered with? Did you open the package or did somebody else? I'm just trying to make sense of it since I just don't see how it could have happened.
However, based on your exemplary feedback record, I will trust that you are being honest with me. With that in mind, I will refund your purchase price of $5.00 and shipping charge. I will be more than happy to do that when the game has been returned to me in it's original shipping package. This way I can compare the shipping weights to see if they are different based on when I sent it and when you received it.
Once again, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to resolve the situation you are having with your purchase.

I thought by adding in the part of original packing, then it could possibly show if she was pulling one over on me. ya think??

Interesting update. I sent her an email stating I would refund her money upon return of the item. She wasn't going to send it back! We went back and forth many times and I always replied politely that I will gladly refund her money upon return of the item. The last email I got she stated that other sellers have refunded her money without returning the item so apparently she has done this before.
So, i will get back what was once a perfectly good game that is now mysteriously missing pieces and will be worthless.
She said she was also going to return the other game she received from me as well. I wonder if pieces are going to be missing from that as well?

I'm sure this is the "wrong" solution, so don't take my advice, but at this point, I wouldn't refund anything, I'd leave her a negative and just accept the negative she leaves, lol. Like I said, don't take my advice, please, that's what I would do, right or wrong...well, probably wrong.

I would love to just "eat" a negative, but I'd hate to do that.
I'll be suprised if I see those games. If she leaves me a neg then I will dispute it and forward what I consider a threatening email to ebay.
of course, I'm not leaving any feedback until she does!

Hmmmmmm...so she wanted her money back AND she wanted to KEEP the item? Now that throws a whole different light on things.. Sounds like it could possibly be a scam - to keep a perfectly good item without paying for it..

Wait for her to return it - IN THE ORIGINAL PACKING - and then take it from there..

I think I smell a rat...

I know it is so easy to give advice when your own feedback isn't on the line, but I also would not refund the money until you receive the item back. It sounds like she does this a lot and by confronting it, maybe it will help another seller in the future. Personally I would also forward the threatening email to eBay. It is unreasonable to threaten when not even one day has passed!! Do people think that everyone is on the computer 24/7?

This is why you can't assume people are on the up-and-up just because all their feedback is positive. Many people will not give negative feedback to people who richly deserve it, because they don't want to take the chance of receiving negatives in return.

Although I have certainly given negative feedback to some people who didn't pay, there have been certain people I didn't give it to just because I knew they would give me a bunch of grief (and a negative) if I did. Sounds like this Ebayer has a great scam going--I would be sorely tempted to eat the negative but I can't say I would! This is a tough call--she is so clearly scamming you, but at the same time it's a tremendous hassle over such a small amount of money--obviously she's figured out that most sellers will let her get away with it.

Question. All of a sudden all of my Paypal transactions are ineligible for seller protection??? What's up with that? What did I do (or didn't do??). All of the buyers have been verified buyers.

YOu're prob going to be out your money and have the neg {{sigh}}.
You can protest it, but I think you'll find that kind of threat eBay will overlook (she said she'll neg you if you don't take back what she says is a bad item..well, eBay will say, yes, that is why people give negs). If you go to square trade it will cost you more than the $5. Tought spot to be in.

The buyer being verified is different then them having a confirmed address. Your buyers will need to have a confirmed address and you must ship it to that address to be covered.

These buyers had confirmed addresses too! That's why I am confused?

Seller question:

I checked the ebay boards and think I've found the answer but I want the opinion and advice of the folks here....

Has anyone using direct-pay been charge for their March fees? I received my notice at the beginning of April, the one about fees being charged twice and that they were working on fixing the problem. I received a second notice of invoice with still an incorrect amount, emailed ebay and was told the correct amount due. Normally my fees are deducted from my checking account on/about the 20th of the month. Today is the 29th and not sign of the debit. Is ebay still having billing trouble and working out the bugs before deducting the charges? I hope they get it worked out soon.

I use direct pay and my checking account was debited on April 20th as usual.

I have been selling on ebay since late 1997. I sell collectibles, some vintage and have had some problems with bidders telling me the item never arrived or arrived damaged and being a 'Newbie" I promptly refunded when they sent the item back.

Until this one time, I received an item I knew wasn't the piece I sent to the bidder. It was a ceramic piece that I had taken special care to clean. The bidder sent back one that was broken, dirty and smelled of smoke (smoke free home here). What to do??? I let it go, but I resolved never to let it happen again. I revised my shipping and return policies to add that all my items are invisibly marked and why I was doing it. Then I searched and searched for a marker for that purpose. FOUND ONE on ebay!!!!!!! :smooth:

The marker is used for detecting phony money but works on ceramics and paper. You use a blacklight to see the mark which is invisible to the naked eye. Do a search in ebay under "security marker." There are a few listed but the one I use has a yellow pen and a small silver light that looks like a very large bullet. Great tool.

I haven't had a problem since I've begun using this. I did have someone recently email me that an item was not as represented and she wanted her money back. What she described to me as the damage, I knew she was trying to switch items (I take very detailed pictures) , so I told her she could send it back, but before she did that to check my retun policy on my ABOUT ME page. Next thing I know she emailed me and told me never mind, she decided to keep it for the price she paid. :earseek: I blocked her from bidding again in my auctions.

As far as people telling me the item never arrived, I send everything Delivery Confirmation. I can tell them the day it arrived and the time of the day it arrived. That 45¢- 55¢ has saved me a lot of aggravation. I build DC into the shipping/handling etc., that and insurance are required on my auctions and are not negotiable. Stated right on my auction page.

Every seller sets their own terms and policies. You have to figure out what works for you and then tweek it until you are happy with it.

Hope this helps to aleviate some problems. :wave2:

That's a good idea. I've heard talk about them lately. The ones I saw were all $6.00 BIN. Is that the one you have? Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you PM me your user name. I'm curious how you word your TOS when using the pen. Thanks so much!

Has anyone every had this kind of email?

Today, I got an email from a buyer that never paid for an auction from June of 2003! I had filed NPB to get my FV fee back. The buyer apparently did it to others b/c she was NARU'd. She never answered emails and I just wrote it off. I couldn't even leave negative feedback because she was NARU'd before I got a chance.

So here's what she wrote:
Hi,
I emailed ebay to find out how to get my suspension lifted , and they sent me a copy of the order i had placed for you. I want to apologize for not getting back with you after winning the bid for this, I had some troubles in my home life ,, and I ended up leaving my husband, and was unable to get in contact with anyone..
To get my suspension lifted , I have to be excused of this sale from you.
Item: XXXXXXXXXX
Title: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Start: Jun-03-03
End/Purchase: Jun-08-03
Seller: ME
I know this is a inconvience for you ,, and I again apologize ,, but I would appreciate if you could excuse me from this so i can get my suspension lifted , and be able to buy and sell again on ebay.. Thanks so much BUYER
Now, first of all, I don't know how to do this. But secondly, I think that she had ample time to respond to emails or contact me thru eBay before I filed for my fees to be returned. Am I wrong in feeling this way? I've never had something like this come up b/c I've been fortunate that most of my buyers pay me and do so in a timely manner. I think the window of opportunity for this chick has long since closed. I wouldn't even know how to "excuse" her from the sale. What does everyone else think?

That 45¢- 55¢ has saved me a lot of aggravation

If you do your shipping labels with the USPS Shipping Assistant then DC only costs $.15 unless the package is being shipped Priority then it is free.
