TARGET!

I get at least a carful of free boxes all the time at Target.

I saw a whole shopping cart-load of dairy aisle boxes (butter, orange juice, etc.) at the grocery store yesterday....I'd have asked for them if I had the need or space for them.

Kris as an "international buyer", if something piques my interest, I will email the seller to ask if they will ship to Canada. Generally they will. I think that I have only been turned down twice. So, if you are leery about adding the extra countries, then I wouldn't, but be prepared with your answers in case someone like me sends the email. Good luck! (All this said as a buyer. One of these days, I'll get the courage to sell. ;) )

It's buyers like you Debbie, that make the ebay experience worthwhile. :D. Should I just add a tag that requests international bidders email before bidding. That was also a consideration, but again, less is more in a listing.

On all small things such as books, etc I now list both Canada & US and list $4 airletter post for BASE cost. (this is an upcharge of course but our PO requires the customs forms etc for EVERYTHING, no matter the value so I have to stand in line). I have a Canadian buyer bidding on two of my book/tapes that are ready to end in an hour or so!!!

Can anyone help me on where to get doll info yet?

Thanks - since DH kept walking in while I was doing my auctions on sparedollar, I ended up missing the postage check-box on some of them so now I have to go back and edit most of my auctions. He just kept strolling in saying 'whatcha doing?' every 10 minutes. So I'll check out dolls tomorrow nite.............

The gentleman won my auction and he is from Canada. Even thought I stated twice in the ad that I didn't ship outside the US I told him I would consider it (after the fact).
So now he sends me his addy and wants me to find a way to ship it under $7.00. I am unsure about all the postal meanings and so forth to Canada. And I don't see anything about delievery comformation with this service. the two cheapest seems to be the Global priority mail in envelopes but not sure if i should put software in an envelope. Anyone that can help me out with this with some info or suggestions i would really appreciate it greatly!!

Help!!

Thanks,
Sharon

I've sent computer items to Canada, and this is what I wound up using.

There are two envelopes, one smaller #10 approximate size with a window on the front, and a regualar global priority (larger size, like US priority mail). They are both out of the thinner cardboard.

Since I was selling small data cards, we could use the smaller envelope, the shipping was either $4/ or $7. I'm thinking $4.

NO , you couldn't track it. I sent it on December 15th, and he got it about 3 weeks later, even using priority! Canadian mail is very very slow. About 2 weeks after I sent it, I asked the buyer if he got it. The buyer told me Canadian mail is very slow, and will post feedback when he got it.

Any Sparedollar users out there having trouble logging in this morning or is it just me???

Susan

How to decide if you should relist something or not....I sold half of the videos I listed....should I relist them just once more and then if they don't sell ...send them to the thrift shop...or should I give up and not relist at all.

Possibly combine them. Are they all kids videos? Maybe all of one character together or girlie ones combined or make a variety of like 4 videos to sell together. If you do decide to give them away maybe check with your local library first. Ours accepts movies they dont have and if they do have it they ask if they can sell it in the annual book sale.

I received an Easter dress this weekend that I won on eBay. I paid $15.02 for it plus shipping because I really wanted it. It looked just like something my daughter would wear. Anyway, it had a dark spot on the underdress slip and a lighter spot on the sheer overlay. This was not mentioned in the auction. I used Spray and Wash on it and it mostly came out. Should I mention this to the seller?? Her auctions say sold "as is" and "no returns unless grossly misrepresented." I would still like to keep the item. She already left positive feedback for me.

Maggie

Maggie I would personally chalk it up to experience on buying used items. If she didn't try to make the item sound better than it was then she doesn't deserve a negative feedback IMHO.

*sigh* Anyone else not have much luck last night? I only sold two out of ten items. A lot of views (compared to previous auctions) but not much selling. I offered calculated shipping instead of flat rates, since many of the items were heavier - do you think that had anything to do with it?

I would contact the seller. Something simple, like receieved the dress but noticed it had two stains that you do not reveal in the auction. If you feel comfrotable, you might ask for a partial refund for your time to clean the dress.

As for feedback, I would wait and see what response you get from the email. If you get positive response then I would leave a postive. If you get a negative response then I would consider leaving a neg, with a comment of something like "dress arrived with stain not mentioned in auction."

ok, can someone please explain how to sweep your account into your own account? I can not find it and I do not want to leave money in the account. I am so confused.

Guessing you mean paypal. Just click on the withdrawl tab on the top of the page.

Need words of encouragement - what am I doing wrong? My first week of auctions, almost everything sold, and very well. This week, I have 15 items listed, and only one bid. And one apparently non-paying bidder from last week. I'm just really bummed. Thanks for listening.

Thanks to all of the great Disers here I am almost ready to put my first auction up. I have been reading these posts and researching e-bay and usps sites for info. I still have two questions before I do it.
1. I will be selling old comic books that I acquired from an uncle. I'm still not sure the best way to ship these. Priority seems very expensive, but I get DC with the usps SA. I'm not sure if these can go media mail, because there is advertising in most of them. First class packages need to be 3/4" thick. Is this true?
2. paypal says that they made two deposits into my account on 3/17 and they still have not appeared in my account. Anybody have this happen? They say it should only take 2-3 days.
Thanks for all of your help!

2-3 business days Check again in the morning....it could be they are echecks waiting to clear.

I'm wondering when most people see the most bidding action? My items have been up for about 2 days so far and I only have one bid. I've sold items on ebay once before but I can't remember when the activity reallly got going.

Also, anyone have a list or suggestions of best selling items? So far I've only sold clothes but I have TONS of old videos from my kids, used books and such. I'm sure I have things that would sell but I just don't have the right imagination to figure out what they are.

Thanks! Isnt' it just great when you see that something has been bid on??:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
