You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

I think that it is usually the thought that if someone wants you to end the auction early, your widget is probably worth more than they are offering. As to the legality of it, do you have any bids on it yet? If not, legally You can add BIN to the listing & let her buy it that way, If their are bids, you would have to end the auction and to do that, you have to give a reason to Ebay. HTH & Good Luck! Sandy

Donna: I'll let you know what it is after I'm all sold. Even on the internet, it's a small world. ;)
Sandy: Yes, I have one bid already, for the starting price of $50. I'm leaning where you are, that it must be worth even more. But what if no one else bids, and it sells for just the $50? (Funny how two days ago I was thrilled at the thought of getting $50 for it! )

I have a question about sending 2 cds to Australia. I've looked at the usps website but which way would be the best to send them? Thanks in advance for any help :D

What is the best and most economical way to ship clothing items?
Also if you have something heavy like a jacket?

Thanks,
Sharon

I send all the clothing I sell (my kids had a bonanza in their closets that they've all 3 outgrown since last year!) priority mail, since I want my customer to receive them promptly, esp. if they've paid me promptly.

I bought some large plastic envelopes and moisten-them-youself labels at Viking and mail with these. They had free shipping if you order more than $25, and others here have talked about coupon codes. I had to buy diff. sizes in lots of 50 each but they're going surprisingly fast. Initially, I collected boxes at work, but it costs a lot more to mail the clothing this way, and I was spending more than what I was charging for s/h.

Also, usps.com will give you free shipping envelopes (at their website) if you plan to send priority. I'm new to this, and just discovered it yesterday - of course, after I bought all those envelopes!

What is the best and most economical way to ship clothing items?

A lot of people buy "contractors" plastic bags at Walmart, and cut them down for clothing. Others use Tryvek bags, to help cut down on weight. Those same people say they usually ship (and quote prices in the auction) parcel post. If the bidder lives close to you, you might want to give a choice in your end of auction note.
For a 4# item from NY to AK, the cost for Priority would be $10.35, while for Parcel Post, it would be $7.87. For a 2# package to and from the same place, it would be $5.75 Priority and $4.49 parcel post, so the gap closes. You might save that difference in the cost of the box, if using Priority. Now, if you were selling a tape or book, the media rate is really a savings.

I posted earlier on this thread that someone had emailed me asking me to add a BIN to an auction. I had no bids on it, and her offer seemed fair, so I did it. She used the option and now for days has ignored all attempts to reach her. She insisted she wanted it "ASAP" but the auction would've ended on its own today and she has still refused contact. The thing that really irks me is that the auction is for something that I wanted up at the same time as my other auctions (so people looking at my other auctions might be interested) -- it's something I wouldn't bother putting up on its own. And now I've missed the chance to sell it because I was trying to be accommodating.

I'll never add a BIN for someone again. That's my .02 -- YMMV of course! (And I hope you have better luck than I did!) :)

Ok I have an Ebay Dilema and need some help from the Ebay experts! :teeth: I bid on a cookbook from a new seller. She has 5 positive feedbacks but these were for purchases not items sold. I was winning the cookbook for $6.00 (which was a GREAT price for this book.) Well I received an email from her 1 day before the auction ended saying she would be happy to sell me the book if I would bid $2.00 more and that would include shipping? Huh? I sent an email back stating that I didn't understand what she was asking me to do. She replied that she would sell me the book if I paid $2.00 more. I replied, again, that wasn't refusing to sell me the book unless I bid more may be against Ebay rules? Giving her an out - and the benefit of the doubt - I asked if she meant that she wanted me to pay $2.00 shipping. That got no response. I have since won the auction (by the way one of the cookbooks that I bid on but wasn't winning she ended the auction stating the item was no longer available - my guess being the item wasn't going for enough) I sent an email requesting the shippipng total so I could send payment. No response. If I don't hear from her ever - what do I do? I am afraid if I hear from her and send the money I'll never see the book. She doesn't accept pay pal only money orders or checks. Even though I'm getting this book for a great deal I'm VERY sorry I ever got involved with this auction.
Sorry this is so long but wanted to give a good description of the events thus far so it made sense. I've never ran into this issue with a seller so I want to handle it the "right" way.

That seller sounds completely shady to me. Have you reported this incident to eBay? That would be my course of action. And I definitely wouldn't be sending her any money. Sorry you're having this problem -- people sure can be strange!! :scratchin

You can get their Contact info which will include their phone number. Give them a call and see what's happening. Although this situation doesn't sound good it's possible the seller is having email problems.

Is this allowed? I have auctions ending today and one has no bids at all. One of the auctions that does have bids is a book that is part of a series as is the one that has no bids. Would it be allowed to email the winner and offer the other unbid book? This could save the winner money and save me from re-listing. It is currently in auction at $7.50 and I thought I'd see if s/he'd want it for an addl $5 with no extra shipping. Is that a no-no?

I would offer it after both auctions end, in an end of auction note to her..not using eBay's mail system. Once the auciton ends, it's yours to do with as you wish.

OMG.

Didn't think anything like this would happen to me, but so weird.

I had an auction going for baby clothes. It had one bidder three days before auction end and she emailed me to say that she accidentally typed in $199 instead of $1.99. She said it was a mistake and if it went any higher than 1.99, she didn't want it.

Well, at the last minute the bidding got crazy and the auction ended at $20 and some change.

I had emailed her back about her question/problem three times and all three times it was returned to me. I tried looking in her contact info for a phone # and didn't find one.

So needless to say, she was the high bidder at $20.50. For three baby outfits, two from The Disney Store.

I can't get in contact with her. I haven't yet sent an invoice.

Instead I forwarded all info to Ebay and am waiting to see what they say.

Good news is another auction for some used toys I paid $6 for ended at $47. You never know do you?

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for what Ebay says! I would go ahead and offer the baby clothes to the second highest bidder before the auction fever dies down!

Okay, I have bid on plenty of items and won and always been a good buyer. I thought I would try being a seller. I listed some 12 or so items. On the first 2 I thought I listed a flat rate for shipping, like $4.99 or something, then as I got going with the listings and my husband told me to just write that I would calculate shipping at the close of the auction.

So I was just sending invoices and using the calculate feature and charged someone $7.71 for a bridal veil (they won it for 8.99- its at least a $50 veil- so they got a good deal) I did add $2 for handling, since Ill need a box, etc for it.
She immediately sent me an email stating "You know it does not cost 7.71 to ship a half pound veil, you said it was 3.99 for shipping,I am not paying that" I think her email might have been in caps. I had used the calculate feature this time, when listing I had guesstimated.
I emailed her right back apologizing for my goof and explained I was new and was calculating shipping for a lot of different items all closing at the same time and that I would certainly honor the price I quoted in the auction for shipping and again I was so sorry and thank you for bringing the error to my attention.
She was contacting me pretty quickly- since then- nothing from her.

But heres the funny part- I cant find where I stated the price for shipping. Would that info get listed somewhere on the page that I am not looking? What am I missing here? I was almost sure that I did list a flat rate, and if its my loss, its my loss, Im a fair person. But where the heck is the shipping info now????

Anyone have a clue?

If you look on the bottom of your listing, it has the shipping charges. If you charged a flat rate, it would be there. If you used the shipping calculator, that would show up on the bottom of the page instead.

I had 14 auctions ready to go. Checked for updates and none were needed. Only 2 of the 14 launched - got a message saying there were errors in 12 of the 14.. NOT!!

But NOW the Turbo Lister won't even open!!!

I'm so frustrated I could scream! All that work down the drain.. Now I'll have to try to do them all over again tomorrow..

There are only 11 on MyEbay page.. 9 of those are Relists that were done thru that page - the other 2 are the only ones that went thru from the TL before it said I had errors on the other 12 and then TL refused to open again.. So if they all went thru, I should have 23 auctions running right now..

Also - there must be a glitch with eBay/Paypal as well because all of my auctions that ended are showing "invoice sent" and many of them have been paid already..

I can't believe I'm going to have to do all of those auctions all over again.. :(
