You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

I accidentally upgraded to a Premier account. Is there anyway to undo this or change this and request a different payment method from the buyer?

We may have talked about this before, but just wondering how many of us use the gallery option.

I personally only shop eBay through the gallery. So everything I put up goes through the gallery also....assuming others do the same as me.

the DVD set arrived today and it's in perfect shape(unopened).I do have another question, how careful should I be buying anime on Ebay

Thank you to everyone here. I have read over some of this thread and many others on this board about Ebay. I just sold my first two items (lots actually) this week and just listed 4 more. My husband thought I was nuts at first, but now keeps bringing home tons of boxes telling me to sell more stuff! By all the advice here I am trying to take it slow, not too slow though I do have a trip to pay for.
One big piece of advice that saved me a lot of money was something I read about new sellers often underestimating the cost of shipping. I put on all my auctions that buyer pays actual shipping. This saved me big time when I thought shipping on an box would be about $12 then it turned out to be $23 b/c I was shipping to CA. I did not read this advice until after my first auction but fortunately I was only off by .05

One question: When should I leave feedback? I was hoping my first buyer would leave feedback since I shipped the day after she paid (paid on Easter) and she received it yesterday. The buyer was polite, had great communication, and paid instantly. I want to leave feedback but if I do it now do you think I increase or decrease my chances of her leaving feedback for me?When should I leave feedback?

Feedback has been a great debate here. I usually leave it after payment is made and the item is shipped. Many other leave it after the buyer leaves it for them. The choice is totally up to you.

Question.....

I had an auction with a $45. reserve. The final bid was $32.
I relisted it and put a starting price at $45 instead of using a reserve and put a Buy it now price of $55. Would it be wrong or against ebay policies to email the high bidder and let them know of the changes? I don't want to do anything wrong and I'm not looking to bypass ebay either, just want to let the person know.
Thoughts??????

Thank you. I posted positive feedback and within an hour the buyer also posted feedback. I guess she was waiting for me to post first.

What kind of feedback would you leave?

Buyer won an auction on March 28...the auction stated that payment was to be recieved within 10days. I emailed the winning bidder 5 times without any response to winning or payment. On day 11 I stated filing non payment with ebay. within 1 hr winning bidder sent me an email that "Money order sent" that's it. Payment was finally recieved today 19 days after the auction was won...

What kind of feedback would you leave???

Has the winner left feedback yet? If not I'd wait to see what they leave. You have 90 days to leave feedback. I'd probably leave Positive then note slow to pay.

I would probably leave NONE too. They really weren't bad enough to warrant a NEG (IMHO) but it wasn't really a positive transaction now either.

In any case, I would wait until they left you feedback at the very least.

I don't think it's against any policy - I have had sellers e-mail to let me know about re-lists or similar items they are putting up. I think I have only followed through on one or two of those - but it's not a big deal for me to just delete the e-mail if I'm not interested. Others may not agree though. If $32 was the most they were willing to pay - they probably won't be interested - but you never know with reserve price auctions - they may have bid more than that - just not enough to meet your reserve.
Good Luck

It's only wrong if they report you for spam mail. They may have moved on and bid or bought elsewhere, and don't want past bid information to fill their e-mail box. If they report you, you will get a warning from eBay the first time.

Per eBay:

Spam

eBay policy prohibits members from sending spam. Spam is defined as email that is both unsolicited and is commercial in nature.

Unsolicited - The email must have been sent without the permission of the person who received it.
Commercial - The email must discuss buying, selling or trading of goods or services.
Some examples of spam include:

Unsolicited email offers for items that are the same or similar to items you are bidding on or have bid on in the past.
Email sent to you from a mailing list without your permission.
Direct or stand-alone invitations to join a mailing list.
Email sent using the "Contact eBay Member" link on the eBay Web site to send unsolicited commercial offers.
Some members have also reporting receiving requests for personal information in email messages that are made to appear that they were sent from eBay. More information on these messages, as well as how they can be reported, can be found on the Email and Websites Impersonating eBay page.

Please be aware that eBay's spam policy applies only to unsolicited commercial messages sent by eBay members. If you are receiving surveys, promotional messages or other email from eBay that you feel you should not be receiving, please refer to the Notification Preferences Overview for information on how to change the types of email you receive from eBay.

Email messages that are not commercial in nature, including offensive or unwelcome email, do not fall under the eBay spam policy.

Sellers are permitted to invite other users to join a mailing list as long as the email is related to the transaction and the mailing list invitation is not the primary purpose of the email.

Instant messages and other forms of communication conducted outside of eBay are not within our jurisdiction. Although posts on the eBay Discussion Boards are not reviewed as spam, eBay does have a policy related to appropriate board usage.

If you have received spam from another eBay member, please report it. In order to investigate a spam report, we must have a complete copy of the email you received with the full header included.

If you received a warning for violating our spam policy and you believe that it was sent in error, please contact us .

If you were suspended for violating our Spam policy and would like to contact us, please send us an email.

Is a buyer - sending an email to a seller (after the transaction is complete) - asking for feedback, considered "spam"? I received such a request the other day and while normally that sort of thing wouldn't bother me, it just REALLY rubbed me the wrong way.. (Could be just I'M in a cranky mood, but still..) Don't know why it bothered me so much this time (I've received requests like that before) but it did...

If you report it, then eBay will send a warning. The email back and forth is only suppose to be about the actual sale. Some people will word it to say, "just wanted to let you know I rec'd the item..and feedback is always appreciate". That was it's about the sale and not the feedback. Get the same email several times from teh same person, and it's now spam. I did report it once, when someone kept asking me (I bet I got 10 emails). I wanted to leave something snotty for feedback, but didn't...however, I noticed another person did, when I looked to see if vrane had left it for her. I use automatic feedback through vrane, so people can beg all they want..it won't happen until they leave it. I don't care if they leave it or not..but that is the way it works with vrane. I spend my free time getting the items packed and shipped quickly..and pay vrane to do the mundane stuff for me.

Maybe that's what bugged me so much about it - it wasn't worded that way at all..

I won't report her, but I don't think I'm going to leave feedback now either..

What am I doing wrong???

Beside the listing of all my stuff there is a little camera instead of the picture as on other listings....how do I get the picture of my item to show rather then a picture of a camera????

That little picture is known as a gallery picture and you need to pay .25 to have it there.
