You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

After reading this thread I put up my formula samples and the checks the formula companies send you. I made $20 today (Buy it now) on the checks. I would have never thought of putting those on Ebay!! My maternity clothes are currently in the washer and dryer and they are next to go!!

Re-listing...I can not believe how much I got for stuff that was justhanging around the house collecting dust and taking up room. I had 92 auctions, and 50 sold for way more than I could have expected. Now I am relisting some. Any good advice? Do I lower the price? Some of these are books, and other stuff...I would appreciate any help. I am scared if it didn't sell the first time, maybe I shouldn't try again?

AND...thanks guys for all the info, and encouragement...this is invaluable, and I am thrilled with the outcome :)

I generally always relist once. You can look to lowering the price, making lots of whatever they are (books, movies, etc). Look at what you put in the title, see if you can change it to draw more lookers. Change the category in which it was listed etc.

I always relist, it's free, why not? I check the times and dates they ended, how long it ran and maybe the price was too high or maybe I should've added BuyItNow. Checking the amount of views is a clue, too, lots of interest and no bids may be a sign that the price was too high or someone MEANT to bid and didn't. You never know!

And glo, congrats again!!

Yep, and it usually does! Besides I've already gotten charged for the first listing, might as well take a gamble on another.

Thanks guys...I will relist a few items, and work at it slowly. For some reason this is scarier to me then listing it the first time. Wish me luck...and good luck to everyone else this week.

Thanks Robin...if I had known this was this easy, I would have done it a long time ago.

I usually have pretty good luck relisting, but almost always change up price and one or two words in the description.

Even dropping the price by .50 can somteimes jump start an auction, or dropping S&H by .50 is also good.

If I have room I will even put "marked down" somewhere in title - people love a bargain.

If I allow people to pay with PayPal but I don't have a checking account connected to my account and just let it save on the PayPal account itself, will I be able to transfer it into an account later after I get an account connected to it?

Once you have a checking account linked to your PayPal account you can transfer funds (withdrawal) for free. It takes up to 4 business days for the deposit to become available in your chaecking account. My transfers are usually available in about 2-3 days.

You could also request a check - but it costs $1.50 and takes up to two weeks to receive it.

This week I'm going to be listing some heavier things on ebay and the shipping fees vary by about $5 to different areas in the country. I'm thinking about trying the calculated shipping button for these. Does anyone know if there is a fee for using that? Also is it an option when listing the regular way on the ebay site or do you need one of the special programs like turbo lister or something like that to use it.TIA

There's no additional fee to use calculated shipping. You choose between fixed and calculated on your "sell" page as you create your listing. You need to know how much your item weighs (in the packaging)

thanks for the info on the calculated shipping. I have a question about the packages I'm shipping tomorrow. When I use the shipping assistant can I print out the labels and then tape them on the priority envelopes or boxes when I get to the post office?Am I correct that priority mail shipping supplies are free? Or is that different when you use the shipping assistant?TIA

I print my labels and attach them at home, before going to the PO. Is that what you're asking? You need to enter a weight to print the label, but that is mostly to determine you are using the correct method of shipping (i.e. you can't enter more than 13 oz. to ship First Class). You then present your pre-labeled packages to the PO clerk who weighs them, asks a routine series of questions (hazards) and scans the label. You pay the amount due and you're done.

I've only ordered the free Priority materials through USPS' website. I've read here that you can pick up these same supplies free at the PO (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I just wanted to ship these out as fast as can. I don't have any boxes or envelopes here at home so I just thought I would print the labels and get the stuff at the post office if that's allowed.Thank you for answering so many of my questions today.

I printed out some priority labels with postage from home on the USPS site itself and it included free del confirmation which I always include now. I didn't have the boxes and thought I added enough to the weight to account for the boxes but I ended up owing .70 for each at the PO. That is the only drawback to not having the boxes at home already. I don't have mail delivered to my home address so I haven't ordered any PM boxes. I'm assuming they would be mailed to my PO box and then I'd still have to pick them up at the PO anyway. It would be kinda funny for UPS to deliver PM boxes, lol.

I just ordered some priority boxes and envelopes from the usps website, I wish I had done it sooner but oh well. I must admit that I went about estimating my shipping costs for my auctions the lazy way. I looked at what other people were charging to ship the same things and then charged on the low side. I might end up paying a little more than I charged. Don't worry I won't be doing it that way again. I spent time weighing and measuring stuff this time and will use the shipping calculater. I only plan on getting the flat rate envelopes this trip to the post office so the extra weight shouln't matter. I also think it's very funny that there going to mail these things to me.

Anybody else have their BUY IT NOW links disappear on their auction? I've noticed it on two so far. My listing confirmation shows that I requested and got billed for it. I've requested a refund for this but was just wondering if anyone else noticed this or maybe if you have some BUY IT NOWs, check on them to be sure they're still showing as containing a BUY IT NOW link.

Just checked and mine are still there. Wonder what happened to yours?

If I remeber correctly, if you have BIN with a auction. If someone bids in the auction the BIN choice goes away. And then you just have the auction, and the auction will run until it closing date and time.

Do you have any bids on your items that the BIN option has gone away?
