I have to agree with you on VOLM. I could watch the Under the Sea scene all day but then I just get a little bored. I won't be sad if they replace it. I'm sure it's going to be a must do in October though because DH is a big Ariel fan.

I haven't made it to see B&TB since 2010. I meant to see it in March but just never had the time. I was supprised the other day when my brother mentioned wanting to see it again when we go in February. I didn't realize he had liked it so much.

Yes! We definitely are going over to AoA at some point this trip cause we didn't in January and I'm still sad about it. If that's where you'll be staying, we'll either do it twice or wait until the end to go over!

Definitely!! Things are still pretty up in the air about the end of the trip in Sept right now, but hopefully everything will work out!

Ahahah, totally fair. I find sometimes that no one will post all week, and then EVERYONE posts on the same day and getting caught up takes me forever! Much less after I've been gone a while!

Definitely get your fix of those shows while you can! I've heard rumour of both of them closing/getting replaced. Then again, we all heard rumours of FOTLK closing temporarily and it didn't...and they're still casting BaTB dancers, so I'd say you're safe for a while!

Paige and I ended up leaving AoA around 6:30, which was a little late (or so I thought) especially considering how early Mom and I had arrived earlier that week. Oh well! We stopped for a quick snack on the way in of course!

The oh so famous Uncrustable!! YES! Paige and I really fell in love with these over the week, they’re a nice little snack, boost ya up in the middle of the day, kinda thing. And DANG are they tasty!! Sad fact: you cannot get them anywhere in Canada! I tried ordering them off the internet, but they are the only thing you can’t order from the website *sigh* We went through the very long and winding pathway into the theatre, and still managed to get 8th row seats!! Pretty dang close to the front for getting there with about half an hour to wait!

Paige and I settled into our seats, and took turns to run off for the bathroom and snack getting, main event: popcorn! Yum! Disney popcorn is just the best! I also picked up one of the fruit and cheese plate things, but I’m not even going to bother to give you the picture, haha! Not only was it a bad picture, but the plate wasn’t that good, it had some chocolate covered strawberries, and some green grapes and some not so tasty cheese. Lawl.

There he is! The main man and conductor of the show…or should I say mouse?!

Aw man, the first couple minutes of the show are so majestic! I just love them, in fact, last night Paige and I had a girls Disney night and actually watched the first few and last few minutes of Fantasmic and we just couldn’t handle it, our feels are too much with this show!!

Man, the music in this show is so good! Like, there’s some of the classic songs, but then they kinda did a spin off for some and made it awesome, and then there’s the just “Fantasmic” theme, and it’s amazing!

Did ya every wonder how they come up with these things? Like, Fantasmic has been around for nearly 15 years, who decided, that long ago, that they were going to try and project video onto water sprays and make a story out of it!? Like, these people have got some wicked imaginations. World of Color was obviously somewhat stemmed from parts of Fantasmic, but who originally came up with it?!

BOOM!!

Did I scare ya? Well, the stupid canon scared us, a lot, heck, when we watched it yesterday we talked about that, and how no matter how much you prep yourself for it, it still scares you every time!

The show continues, and it gets all quiet and dark again, and you seriously expect another canon going off towards your face, but it doesn’t…

You know, Governor Ratcliff was probably one of the cruelest villains of all time, like, he has absolutely no redeeming qualities, and does it all just for gold, like, GROSS. Also, fun fact, he’s voiced by the same guy that did Cogsworth….

The arrival of the princess and the fighting just stops! Yay! I also like the way they bridge the adventure into the further royalty, like oh Hey Pocahontas, and now…here’s some more princesses!

Belle’s Fantasmic dress is just gorgeous! It’s so shiny and sparkly and just amazing, I’d like her to wear that one all of the time! Heehee.

Uh-oh! The princesses and their princes have just left us, but it looks like tonight may not be all about them after all!

What a creepy old hag! But I do have a hunch that things are about to take a turn for the worse, we know there are bigger and badder villains out there! (I mean c’mon, she just wanted revenge of Snow for getting her true love killed and….oh ….wait…)

Yup…there it is…the giant snake…among with many other villains, eck, looks like this imagination is taking a turn for the WORST!

Uh-oh, for any of you that know, Malificient is a pretty big deal in the whole bad guy thing, she’s a bit cray cray, like, talk about no motivation! And…well…she can kinda transform herself…WATCH OUT MICKEY!

Yup…that’s one intense Dragon…sure wouldn’t want to be going up against that…

And all that fire?! NO THANK YOU. Good thing Sir Mickey sure is a brave little mouse, a heck of a lot braver than I would be in that situation!

And just like that, with the power of good, all is restored and the evil dragon is gone! (sssh evil dragon, I’m trying to give a presentation here….10 points to whoever gets that obscure reference…hint…it’s from an internet video series…)

Don’t think it’s over just yet! There’s still the most epic finale of life to come!

Hey folks, the fun’s not over yet, in fact, the best part of Fantasmic is about to occur, so don’t go anywhere! (and seriously, the people that get up and start to leave to “beat the crowds” at this point, yeah, they’re annoying, you’re missing the best part!)

A glimmer of hope and happiness off in the distance happens!

And then we get to see so many of the things that Walt has created over the years using his absolutely brilliant imagination.

And then that happens. Steamboat Willie…Mickey…it was all started by a mouse. And that, is when Paige lost it. I’m not talking like, a little crying, or one tear, I’m talking, she LOST it.

At that point I proceeded to lose it at MEG! I’m pretty sure I slapped Paige’s arm and practically yelled “MEG! AH! DIDN’T SEE HER LAST WEEK!!!” And freaked out a bit…

Then the boat rounds the bend, and the mountain’s all sparkly and lit up, and I start to well up in tears…attempting to prepare myself for the moment that I seriously lose control…and Paige has no clue what’s coming….

Just look at that majestic-ness, darn Disney trying to distract you and get you to forget about what’s coming, are you ready for it? Cause I certainly AM NOT (I seriously have tears in my eyes…)

BOOM! Da-da-da-da-daaa-da-da-da BOOM! Da-da-da-da-daaa-da-da-da

Aaaaaaannnnddd I have lost it completely….

BECAUSE JUST LOOK AT LITTLE SORCERER MICKEY!! HE’S SO HAPPY, HE’S CONTROLLING IT ALL, HE’S IN CHARGE OF HIS IMAGINATION, AND HE’S SO HAPPY FOR WALT’S IMAGINATION AND HE LOVES IT ALL SO MUCH.

Like, how awesome is that?! And than, it’s all, “Oh hey, are you feels not being torn apart enough right now? Cause we’ve got more where that came from!” and BOOM! Flash of fire, and BOOM, FLASH

Mickey’s down at the bottom of the mountain again, and is all “Some imagination huh?” And BOOM, like I AM DYING. (I swear I’m not a drunk little cucumber right now, I just have a lot of feelings…)

The show ends, everyone applauds, I’m in tears, and people start to leave, so I start to get up, and look down at Paige and she’s just SOBBING, and looks up at me and is all “Nope…nope…can’t do it”

Safe to say Fantasmic was a hit! Ahahahaha Both of us talked about the various spots that really kill us, and hers was seeing Steamboat Willie, she just couldn’t take it! Mine will forever and always be the part when Mickey appears at the top of the mountain! It was an amazing show that night and we could just feel the emotion between the two of us. It was honestly amazing enough that we seriously considered getting back in line for the second showing, but the line was WAAAY too long to consider that. We browsed a bunch of the shops, and just hung around for a bit, Mulch Sweat & Gears were out by the hat playing, but pretty much every song they were doing was in one of the last 2 shows from work, so we opted out of hanging around there.

Where else to go but back to our favorite hotel?! Since we know so much about the seatbelts going left to right, we figured we’d check in for not one, not two, but THREE rides! Heck yes! The second one was fantastic! We went all the way down to the screen at the bottom, when you usually think it’s over, and then went WAAAAY back up, best ride yet!

On our way back from Tower of Terror, we stopped in a few more shops before the exit of the park!

Go-go power rangers!! Part of our childhood, heck yes!! We stopped in front of the hat for some finale photopass pics of the night, and got them to take some with Paige’s camera too!

I think I just noticed how matching we are in those pictures….oops! Haha For our next trip, we’ve decided that we’re going to arrange some Disneybound’s for us to wear, with corresponding characters and all! We left Hollywood Studio’s pretty quick and made the long trek back to our Little Mermaid room! When we did get back, Paige had a shower, and we had had plans to watch World Of Color, but I started feeling suuuuper sick, so I decided it was a better idea to just lay down and try to sleep and not vomit everywhere, bahaha. To sleep we went!

ETA: I do not think it was any kind of stomach bug, I think it was because up until I had "transferred" over to the QS dining plan, I had been eating fairly well, not a lot of junk, or deep fried stuff. And today I had a greasy breakfast, burger, cupcakes, popcorn, chocolate, like, eck....

I totally get the emotion behind seeing all that a Mouse started! I was walking by Sleeping Beauty's castle not too long ago and had a moment since it just overwhelmed me that this genius of a man created so much magic. I would have been with you and needed to pass the tissues!

I've never seen Meg. Is she out any other time other than Fantasmic?

I love Hercules. We need more Herc love in the parks. Hades is by far my favorite villain, I almost wanted him to win he was so funny. And Meg is just so feisty, I won't say I'm in love is one of my favorite disney songs and may be on my top 25 most played song on my iPod lol.

Awesome!! Aw man, DLR has so many more magical opportunities like that, I mean, Walt actually walked in that park, he's been there when it's been done, it's so fantastic!!

Nope, and she's officially done in Fantasmic too! They didn't even bring her out for the Opa celebration in DLR! However, the Hercules they did... I hope they add a Greek Pavilion in Epcot and put them in there, it'd be so great!!

It's always strange to me how many random things aren't available in Canada. I know it's another country and all but considering you guys are RIGHT there it seems pretty simple to ship/distribute things?

I LOVE your fantasmic pictures! I always struggle to get any halfway decent pictures of it and you have so many!

I'm glad Paige loved it so much! It really is such a great show, especially when you take the meaning behind it into consideration. I really wish it wasn't so difficult to line up/get in/get out of the theater!

It was Tuesday September 18th, and it marked the official eighth day of my trip, and third full day of Paige’s! Since we had returned home a little early, and spent so much daytime resting, we figured it would be okay to get up a little earlier today, and have some time to straighten our hair! Besides, we had to look good later on, so why not start now?! Even with the hair straightening, we were still pretty quick getting ready, and took some time to stop at Landscape of Flavors (the foodcourt) to get some breakfast!

That’s Paige’s, she got a yogurt & fruit/granola parfait (you build them yourselves) and a blueberry muffin. She ended up really not liking it, and I really agreed that considering you could use a meal credit for that, or some of the HUGE bounty platters they have, a parfait by itself should be a snack credit! Since Paige didn’t like it, she pulled out a granola bar to eat too, and well, you’ve got to document everything you eat at Disney!

Looks like she also had a bottle of water! I chose to go with a bagel, fruit salad, and one of those iced coffee in a can things for my breakfast!

The fruit didn’t taste good (that was possibly also the thing wrong with Paige’s too?) but the bagel and drink were great! I may have actually saved the drink for later in the day, couldn’t tell ya. I do also wish that the bagel alone could’ve been a snack credit, but hey, it’s all good!

With our breakfasts eaten (sort of) we headed down to the bus stop and were quickly on a bus over to Animal Kingdom!

Yay! One of my favorite parks, with so many different types of things to do, and my favorite show (CAN WE TALK ABOUT IT!?!? IT’S NOT CLOSED!! THEY’RE NOT CLOSING IT!! I HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN! I AM DEAD! DEAD! I WILL BE THAT BIRD GIRL FEB 2014! IT’S MINE!!)…

….ahem…

Paige and I arrived right at rope drop, they were already letting people into the turnstiles, and we made our way through the winding pathways up towards the tree!

They hadn’t quite opened the park yet, so we had more than enough time to stop for some photopasses! Besides, we had great hair that morning! Bahaha (the hair thing may be a sign of foreshadowing…*hint*)

P.S. I love that border! Since we had arrived just at rope drop, they hadn’t actually dropped the rope by the tree yet, so we had a bit more time to kill!

Every morning I would kinda of brief Paige on the plans for the day, and see if that sounded good to her, so she knew what was going on immediately, and when the rope was dropped, we headed off towards the right and over to Asia, we had a yeti to face! Iieeee.

Well, we certainly did face that yeti…once in the front car of the train…

Once in the back… (for future reference, pretty sure that’s the yeti behind Paige…)

And then FOUR more times after that…yes…you heard that right, 6 times on Expedition Everest right at rope drop, with barely any wait at all! I had found my ride buddy, that’s for sure! I honestly think that Paige asked if I wanted to do it one more time and I turned it down, I have problems with my head at points, and all that banging into the head rest was taking a toll on me this morning. Baha, Oldie.

Since we had spent so much time braving Mount Everest, we figured it was about time to head over to Africa, but not without a cute picture first!!

(For the record, I’m pretty sure that may have been later in the day…but I honestly don’t know when we would have done it) Paige commented on how it was awesome that the guy had us make a heart, and it was around my favorite ride! Yay!

We continued on our journey, and we had passed through almost into Harambe when I realized the cast member I had just seen was in a character handler outfit, and was near a “secret door” so I immediately backtracked to see who it was and lo and behold!

DeVine was just on her way in! I had to actually point her out to Paige, and she definitely freaked out a little, saying “THAT IS JUST CREEEPY!!” I guess it kind of is, especially when you’re not ready for it!

Now, I’m going to go a little bit off tangent here, because as I was typing this up and thinking of making that walk from Asia to Harambe, I just became overwhelmed with how much I LOVE Animal Kingdom, it’s right up there with MK for favorite parks. I could just smell the smells and hear the sounds and picture walking down that path, and I just got so happy, seriously cannot wait to be back there again with Paige! So pumped!

Paige and I were currently crossing through Africa, and I’m sure we stopped to check in a couple of the shops and kinda browse our way through everything, but we surprisingly didn’t stop for the Safari! Shocker I know, but I guess it just wasn’t cutting it for us that morning, or we didn’t want to bother waiting, or the wait was too long since we’d been on Everest for so long. Either way! We kept going until we hit Camp Minnie Mickey, and it was time for my favorite part of the day!

We headed into the theatre after a little bit of waiting, and I’m sure we were sitting in the Elephant section! Haha, it’s definitely my place to sit from now on.

It’s dark, but hey, it’s dark in the theatre, and you get the point! Haha, we didn’t have to wait long until the show began, and I was super excited to see what Paige would think of it, after all, I rant and rave about it like no tomorrow!

It looks like Paige’s camera works pretty well for stuff like this! I’m pretty sure it’s one of those “pulls all the light from the room to make it brighter” kinda things. Anyways! Let the procession begin!

Looks like the Tumble Monkeys were a bit too much for Timon to deal with at the moment, but here comes even more trouble!

Yeah, I’d get out of there if I were you guys…..but of course, the best part is coming next!! Yaaaay!

I really like that one because it is just the silhouette, it makes it awesome!

But watch out! Those Tumble Monkeys are back, I mean, everyone needs their time for fame, right?

YYYYYYAAAAAAYYYYY. Paige loved the show, (thank god, I don’t know what I’d do if I went with someone who didn’t like it….eeeek). As did I, of course, and we definitely were talking about it and how amazing it is all the way out of Camp Minnie Mickey! UGH! Amazing. With the show behind us, we slowly made our way out with the giant crowd that always happens after the show, and we kept walking toward Discovery Island, and crossed it closer to the Dinoland side, we had some friends to see!
