"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Yay for the cowboy side of GMR. We have had it two or three times, but other than that, it's been that pesky gangster for the other hundred times! For some reason, Brooklynn is fascinated with this ride right now, so we may go on it several more times this summer.

Prime Time is fun. The first time I ate there, I was scared to death someone was going to call attention to me for not clearing my plate, so I stuffed myself in order to avoid that, and I was miserable. I didn't even like that kind of green beans, but I ate them anyway. The next time, I asked for corn to be substitued. ::yes::

Yay for the cowboy scene! My sister and I finally got to see that one again on our trip last year but most of the time it's always the gangster scene. The cowboy one is pretty cool.

Prime Time is so much fun!

I'll be back to read your latest update when I can see the pics! :thumbsup2

I can't believe you got the cowboy! LUCKY! :) I just loved 50's PTC when we went last year. Our waiter/cousin Cooper was hilarious. He stole our camera and took pictures of our "cousins" from the other table. He also served us through a window we had by our table! He made the meal so much fun! I had the pot pie and it was delicous as well. Next time I am definitely going to try the sampler! Can't wait to read more about your trip :)

How fun that you were able to have your friend as a tourguide, and awesome that you got the cowboy side. I asked to ride cowboy one time, and I was able to get on that side. I'm pretty sure they don't run it all the time, only during busier times. I think its cooler than the gangster side, mostly because of the bank fire! :)

You really should watch some of the movies on the GMR. I did, and I really enjoyed them, much more than I thought! I loved Singing in the Rain and Casablanca, and I even liked Footlight Parade (I don't remember the exact name, but the 1930's musical). If you have netflix you can get all of them on DVD. I thought it was a kinda fun different way to do something "Disney" at home.

Yum, I love 50s Prime time, I always order the pot roast, it is my favorite. I have tried to make pot roast at home, but it never comes out as good as Disney's!

The flavoured sodas really are yummy, I think it is because they make them the old-fashioned way, with the original soda and the add in the flavoured syrup. Much better than the pre-mixed stuff you can get at the store.

I love the Great Movie Ride too! And honestly, I haven't seen all of the movies either! :confused3 OMG I love 50's soooooo much!!! It's so good! I'm glad you liked your "cousin" :goodvibes! Wow those desserts look yummmmmy!!!!! :lovestruc

We went to So' Prime Time as well. I am going to post that review soon. And we loved it !! Loved the food, loved the Disney TV's (I noticed that, too) and we loved out waiter. Very fun and we are definitely going back !!

Yay for the cowboy side of the Great Movie ride! If we go on it in a few DAYS (:woohoo:) I'm going to request it!

OMG 50's PT looks so adorable! I'm so nervous to ever get an ADR there, because I don't want to get in trouble if I don't eat something, or get yelled at, I would probably cry...but the food looks SO good! I love comfort food! And flavored soda, yum! :thumbsup2 Vanilla Coke sounds good, but so does cherry Sprite...I'd have a hard time choosing!

Okay seriously Canadian Santa? Thanks for the nightmares.

HAHA I love the Anchorman reference! Those are always classic.

Yay for being fancy at the Great Movie Ride! :thumbsup2 You've got connections, girl.

I haven't seen many of the movies from GMR either. Although I have always had a strange crush on James Cagney. There used to be a restaurant near my house called Cagney's and they had his picture on the menu, and I used to kiss it everytime we ate there. I'm a freak.

The cowboy is SO much better than the gangster. Seriously, how can one have fire and the other not? That's so unfair.

Yay for Sci Fi! THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION. I love Friends so much! :lovestruc

I've had that sampler before...except I ate the entire thing by myself. I'm not proud of this.

Great updates! I'm going to check out your friend's TR now! :goodvibes

Thanks for the shout out!!!!

Oh wow! If having the cowboy is such a 'thing', then I must be pretty cool cuz I've had that scene twice! The first one was a girl though and she wasn't that awesome. This time was much better! I'll tell ya though, it gets more intense when you know and love the cast member and see them in 'danger' and near a really large fire!

I loved 50's Prime Time! Totally going there again someday! Haha, me and my unobservant self. Idk what was up with me that trip. Oh, Ryan had the Chicken Pot Pie btw and he said it was amazing!

Yeah for the cowboy scene, glow cubes, and giant brownie dessert. I love 50's prime time. Such great theming and it is cool to watch a TV with Disney written on it (in case you forgot where you were). Your meal looks really yummy. Great place for a B-day celebration!

I'm still here, too! Don't feel bad about not seeing a lot of the movies in GMR, becasue I haven't seen too many of them either! It's still a fun ride, though! And, yay for you getting the cowboy scene! I hope we get it next time!:thumbsup2

It looks like you guys had fun at 50s PTC! :) Those desserts look super yummy! That sundae was HUUGE! hahahaha But, I'm sure it was delicious!
We won't be going there this time, but it definately is a fun place to go!
btw, I love mashed potatoes, too! haha

Great update, though! Super excited to read more!:goodvibes

Yay, I'm all caught up on your TR now! :dance3:

Aww I love your pic with Daisy Duck. I never see her out and about... you got lucky!

I love that Soarin made you feel better... that's Disney magic for ya.

How cute that those CMs came over to you and sang to Ryan! I've never heard of that happening at a CS place before. Awesome!!!

I love Ellen's Energy Adventure!! STUPID JUDY!!!!

Wow, Rafiki in the middle of FW? That's so random! You had really good luck with characters on this day! And overall... I remember when you met FLYNN RIDER!!! So jealous...

I love the Friendship boats too. As long as you're not in a hurry to get to an ADR they are so nice and relaxing.

You should try and watch some, if not all, of the GMR movies! They truly are... GREAT MOVIES! haha. Seriously though!

I am a sucker for souvenir cups and glow cubes!! The one you got is so cute, I want it! I love 50's so much. GAH I am so hungry now. Ah well. Can't wait to read m0re!!

your dessert looks amazing! I can't eat anything like that on my diet right now...I'm trying to avoid sugar even! lol.

It was delicious! Omg, I feel your pain, I'm right there with you! It'll be worth it in the end. :thumbsup2

We got the cowboy too! I told DH that it's a big deal, but I'm not sure that he believed me. :rotfl2:

And, we also ate at 50s PT and loved it! I kind of felt like I was reliving last Thursday reading your update!

I'm going to start a new TR as soon as I have my PP pics done, so if you join in please pretend that this is all new information once I get there. :rotfl:

That's awesome! Hahaha I have a feeling if I told any of the members of my family that it was a big deal, they wouldn't believe me either. :rotfl:

Hahah no way! Aww, that's awesome! Oh I will definitely act surprised, don't you worry. I'm excited for you to start your new TR!

The topiaries are really cute!

Re: Canadian Santas - I wasn't as impressed with all of the Santas as I thought I was going to be. At least the ones I saw - it was like they were trying really hard to be hip? Which isn't really necessary? Or they at least need a better script!

Canada was the only one I saw on this trip, and in 2010 I only saw China (Monkey King) and Canada, oddly enough. So I'm taking your word for it. :thumbsup2

The Mary Poppins horse is my favorite part of GMR. No shame! But I do recommend the movies in there too (well, except Alien. I hate scary movies. Tarzan is kind of weird but there's a Disney version. Totally the same thing ;) )! I really love big budget old Hollywood musicals, indulgent ballet scenes and all, so I may not be the best person to take movie recs from!

Yay Dinosaur Gertie!! Best park icon ever!!

It honestly is probably my favorite part too! I love it. As creepy as it sounds I can't look at it and NOT be like "OMG JULIE ANDREWS SAT ON THAT HORSE OMG." I can't stand scary movies either! I scare too easily. I would love to see a lot of the old musicals as well. To be honest I'm surprised that I haven't because as a rule, I'm pretty obsessed with musicals.

Cherry flavored soda is gross, even when they use the real flavor syrups like in Sci-Fi/50s. It just tastes so medicinal! Vanilla is way better.

How great that you were able to meet up with your friend. idk, I just find that stuff really cool! Unfortunately, I'm really terrible at decision by committee so I don't think touring with a large group of friends is in my future. But everyone makes it look like so much fun! I need to figure out a way to make it work.

Yeah! I'm vanilla all the way! I think it's awesome too! Like one minute she's greeting people in front of the Chinese theater, then the next she's running the show on GMR, then she's hanging out at 50's with us. Cast members have it made. It is a lot of fun! I would recommend it. I've done it twice now and it's awesome!

I get a bit lost on the Great Movie Ride also... so don't feel too bad :rolleyes1

I have wanted to try 50's Prime Time. Not sure why we didn't get an ADR for our coming trip, but we will have to try it next time. It looks yummy and sounds like a fun atmosphere. Good to know the TV's say Disney on them :rotfl2:

Also, this may be a really dumb question... but do you know why that dinosaur is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Studios? It's kinda always confused me as to its purpose.:confused3

Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one.

You should definitely try it sometime! It's so good! Hahah yes, please be aware that it says Disney on the TVs, everyone. :rotfl:

NO not a dumb question! And to be honest I have no idea! Like I learned the answer at one point but I have since forgotten... oof. I do know that it operates seasonally as an ice cream shop, though, so... there's that... HAHAH.

Yay for the cowboy side of GMR. We have had it two or three times, but other than that, it's been that pesky gangster for the other hundred times! For some reason, Brooklynn is fascinated with this ride right now, so we may go on it several more times this summer.

I didn't even like that kind of green beans, but I ate them anyway. The next time, I asked for corn to be substitued. ::yes::

That gangster is pesky! Hahaha. That's adorable! If only more kids were as interested as she is!

It's SO much fun! Oh I can relate to that. I was a little hesitant about who our 'family member' would be, but since it was our cousin, I didn't care as much. Cousins don't notice if you don't eat your bad green beans. :rotfl:

Yay for the cowboy scene! My sister and I finally got to see that one again on our trip last year but most of the time it's always the gangster scene. The cowboy one is pretty cool.

Prime Time is so much fun!

I was so excited! I know! If it weren't for the DIS, I honestly wouldn't even have known there WAS a cowboy scene! I would have been so confused! :lmao:

It is SO much fun, I really enjoyed it there!

I'll be back to read your latest update when I can see the pics! :thumbsup2

Oh no, you can't see them?! :worried:

I can't believe you got the cowboy! LUCKY! :) I just loved 50's PTC when we went last year. Our waiter/cousin Cooper was hilarious. He stole our camera and took pictures of our "cousins" from the other table. He also served us through a window we had by our table! He made the meal so much fun! I had the pot pie and it was delicous as well. Next time I am definitely going to try the sampler! Can't wait to read more about your trip :)

I was so excited! HAHAHA that's amazing! Cooper sounds like he was tons of fun. Did you keep those pictures? I would definitely recommend the sampler (especially if you split) because it's delicious! Thanks for your comment!

Yeah! If Jenelle hadn't been our tour guide, I probably would have asked for the cowboy scene as well! But since they had gone through the trouble of switching everything around just for us, I decided to leave it alone. Luckily we got the cowboy anyway! You know, I thought that too, but the ride was basically dead that day! There were a bunch of empty boats around. So I guess it just depends on the CM you get!

I really would love to watch the movies! I mean they're classics! I used to have Netflix, but it got a little expensive being a college student and all hahaha. I definitely want to find a way to watch the movies though!

Yum, I love 50s Prime time, I always order the pot roast, it is my favorite. I have tried to make pot roast at home, but it never comes out as good as Disney's!

The (sample size) pot roast I had was so good, I understand why you love it! Hahah aw, I bet yours is still good though!

The flavoured sodas really are yummy, I think it is because they make them the old-fashioned way, with the original soda and the add in the flavoured syrup. Much better than the pre-mixed stuff you can get at the store.

I totally agree! They're so good. I'm a vanilla fan myself haha. I've never been a fan of any of the cherry drinks, but then again, it could be because I've only had them from the bottles. Hmm... interesting...

I love the Great Movie Ride too! And honestly, I haven't seen all of the movies either! :confused3 OMG I love 50's soooooo much!!! It's so good! I'm glad you liked your "cousin" :goodvibes! Wow those desserts look yummmmmy!!!!! :lovestruc

Haha I really want to watch them! My dessert was delicious and Angela was so hilarious. The food was awesome too! I loved 50's!

We went to So' Prime Time as well. I am going to post that review soon. And we loved it !! Loved the food, loved the Disney TV's (I noticed that, too) and we loved out waiter. Very fun and we are definitely going back !!

Yay, can't wait to hear about it soon! I'll definitely go back someday too! I'll probably go back to Sci Fi again before going to 50's... I'll go back and forth between the two hahaha. I love them both!

Oh you should! I would tell you to request Jenelle but she doesn't work at GMR anymore!

I think you should try 50's! I mean I feel like the waiters would catch on if you didn't want to play along. It probably all depends on the waiter you get. I will say that if you want to try the flavored soda, they have it at Sci Fi as well! I got vanilla Coke there too, and my sister got cherry Coke. :)

Okay seriously Canadian Santa? Thanks for the nightmares.

HAHA I love the Anchorman reference! Those are always classic.

I know right? Cool man, real cool.

THANKS! (I just did a mini bow that I'm pretty glad nobody was around to see.) Gotta love that movie.

I loved being fancy! It's definitely awesome knowing a CM!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I really would love to watch them all some day! HAHAHA that's adorable. You are not a freak! You crack me up.

The cowboy is SO much better than the gangster. Seriously, how can one have fire and the other not? That's so unfair.

Yay for Sci Fi! THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION. I love Friends so much! :lovestruc

THE FIRE! I know! It was legit. :smokin: (Thankfully there was no actual smoke.)

I LOVE FRIENDS TOO. Omg. I'm so glad you got that right away. We seriously have so much in common Joni!

I've had that sampler before...except I ate the entire thing by myself. I'm not proud of this.

Great updates! I'm going to check out your friend's TR now! :goodvibes

HAHA! Well don't worry, I would have done the same if we'd been on the Dining Plan!

Thank you! I'm sure she is thankful that you joined in there too! Hopefully she'll get some replies going and update soon! (She's new to all this, hahha.)

Thanks for the shout out!!!!

Oh wow! If having the cowboy is such a 'thing', then I must be pretty cool cuz I've had that scene twice! The first one was a girl though and she wasn't that awesome. This time was much better! I loved 50's Prime Time! Totally going there again someday! Haha, me and my unobservant self. Idk what was up with me that trip. Oh, Ryan had the Chicken Pot Pie btw and he said it was amazing!

YOU'RE WELCOME! HEY EVERYONE LOOK, IT'S AMANDA, AND HER TR IS AWESOME!

It's definitely a thing. You will learn! If I'd been sitting next to you on the ride I would've told you! Oh I know right? Hahaha Jenelle worked it out though (Randy Jackson moment) and everything was hunky dory in the end. :hippie:

I loved it too! I'm so glad we went there! We should go again in December. ;) OR SCI FI! Remember we were choosing between the two? I'm glad we picked 50's though because it was a new one for most of us! Haha yeah... those were interesting times. Oh okay, ya know, I honestly was thinking that he got that. I should have just said he did so I would look smarter hahah. Oh well.

Yeah for the cowboy scene, glow cubes, and giant brownie dessert. I love 50's prime time. Such great theming and it is cool to watch a TV with Disney written on it (in case you forgot where you were). Your meal looks really yummy. Great place for a B-day celebration!

YAY FOR IT ALL! :woohoo: I agree, the theming is wonderful! The meal was delicious and you're right, it was a perfect place to have Ryan's birthday meal!

I'm so glad! I hope you're able to get the cowboy next time too! It's awesome.

We had such a fun meal! Oh gosh yes, it was so big, I could not finish it! It was so good though hahaha. OMG MASHED POTATOES ARE THE BEST. I love them so much!

Thank you dear! Always great to hear from you!

Yay, I'm all caught up on your TR now! :dance3:

HOORAY! :yay:

Aww I love your pic with Daisy Duck. I never see her out and about... you got lucky!

I love that Soarin made you feel better... that's Disney magic for ya.

Thanks! Yeah, she's definitely more rare, which is weird to me since hello, she's Donald's gf! She's so precious. You should look for her at the Epcot entrance! OH, and I have also met her in Town Square!

REALLY THOUGH. Serious Disney magic! :wizard:

How cute that those CMs came over to you and sang to Ryan! I've never heard of that happening at a CS place before. Awesome!!!

I love Ellen's Energy Adventure!! STUPID JUDY!!!!

I know! I definitely took us by surprise.

Judy IS stupid, STUPID!!! (Her and London, they're both pretty stupid, hahah. I can say this to you because you're a Friends fanatic. :rotfl:)

SO random. I was so jealous hahaha, I literally had no clue he was right outside the store. YES OMG, the Flynn update will be coming up soonish and I'm so excited! It was like the bright spot of my night for SURE.

I feel the same way about the Friendship boats. They're wonderful!

I really want to! I feel so uncultured hahaha.

YES!!! They're awesome! I use my glow cube a lot but I'm always scared it'll stop working and I can't have that happen! Hahah. YAY, thanks for catching up!!

OMGOMGOMG I'm finally back! No joke, I just signed onto the DIS, looked at my PTR and said, "NO! I am going right over to Marissa's TR and catching up!" So yes, you are taking first priority tonight! Hahaha. I am SO sorry I feel so behind; I feel terrible! But, between the new job and then needing a break from the DIS (it's the post-trip/TR blues, I tell ya; my next TR is going to take way longer than my last one though, so maybe I won't run into that issue again, hahaha)... Anyway! I'm just glad I'm here, I'm catching up, aaaand yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a long comment. :rolleyes1

YAYYY I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK! I honestly missed your epic comments! THANK YOU!! I'm so special. And please don't apologize, I get it! I'm READY. BRING IT ON.

Okay, good call on starting off in Epcot on Day 3! I think it was definitely needing some love!

That is so bizarre that your bus driver decided to drop you off in like, east L.A. :rotfl: I didn't know the value resort stops are further away, either!

You're right, it did need some love! Unfortunately it just didn't get enough this trip. :(

Yeah, it was just bizarre. HAHAHA East LA. But really! Oh yes, the value resort bus stops are basically the furthest away hahaha. On our first night when we went to Beach Club from MK to go to Beaches and Cream, BC/YC was literally the first bus stop we encountered and I was like, WOW THIS IS SO CLOSE! I cannot wait to experience deluxe resort amenities this summer omg.

Love the photo with Daisy, but I'm sad you missed Stitch! He was my 2nd favorite character meet during our trip... Just means you'll have to go meet him in... WELL, SO SOON! (I'm jealous, your trip is going to be here SO soon!!)

OMG, so on Sunday we watched this show on YouTube, called Modern Marvels... and this episode they focused on Disney World! You can watch the entire episode on youtube (we have youtube on our XBox, so we just streamed it on there), it's an hour and a half and so awesome! Anyway, they had an imagineer who worked on Soarin' talk about how they designed it and showed off the little model. It was totally fascinating! I'm betting it was the same segment or something...

I was sad too! On my first trip ever, he and Lilo were the first characters we ever met and it was so awesome! My brother has already requested that we meet him this summer and I want to as well, so we definitely will be on the lookout for him! I KNOW! I can't believe it, it's like less than three months away now! SO insane.

THAT'S AWESOME! It probably was the exact same thing! Wasn't it completely fascinating? Good grief. Disney never ceases to amaze me.

The only thing I don't get about Soarin' is why they changed it from Soarin' Over California (the name of it in Disneyland)... Like, it's the same attraction, you're still flying over Cali... soooo, what the heck?! :rotfl:

I feel like Disney bacon is always kind of sad and soggy.

Hahah I always wonder that as well! The weirdest thing to me is that they call it Soarin' over California, IN CALIFORNIA. It's like yeah, I think they get it. But us folks in Florida just like to soar over anonymous land. I will never understand.

I completely agree with that statement. And I always know this before I get it. And I'm always disappointed with it. And I'm always like, "DUH, this bacon is lame."

AHH I know you mentioned this in my TR but I got my sister the same pink t-shirt. Fantastic taste! :thumbsup2

Rafiki is definitely a random one to see in Epcot!

Fantastic taste indeed! I love that shirt, and I hope your sister loves it as well!

SO RANDOM! I was so jealous! Hahaha.

Noooot sure I'm feelin' Canadian Santa! He looks weird to me. Plus gremlins under the bed? NOPE.

That man in the phone booth looks creepy! HAHAHHA

Hahaha NOPE. I totally agree. Nightmares forever.

Hahah I think he looks perplexed. Perhaps someone was calling him and he didn't understand how or why. Perhaps someone named Pip, or one of his relatives?

You know how I feel about Friendship Boats! I'm with you, they're the best!! I was impressed with the driver/runner people, too!

You know what's weird? We didn't do Great Movie Ride last trip! It just never happened for some reason. Next trip we'll have to go on it again.

Yep! I'm glad you agree. I just love riding them. I KNOW. Rope guy was legit.

Oh... that is weird! Yes, yall will have to do it next time! Especially if your friends have never done it. :thumbsup2

Matt won't do the 50s primetime because I think he went once when he was younger and didn't like the waitress picking on him. :rotfl2: That and he doesn't like being the center of attention sooooo yeah, not sure we'll be doing that one. But it looks like you guys had fun!

Not gonna lie though, I am just waiting for something bad to happen to you since you're not feeling well. Ugh, I hope it's not anything bad...

HAHAHA awww, poor Matt! No lie I am just picturing that photo you had in your TR from Whispering Canyon right now. RED AS A TOMATO. :rotfl:

Honestly yeah, something bad does happen. And soon. And more than once. I've been 'hinting' at it so maybe it'll soften the blow when it does happen. Maybe then it won't be like, BAM! SURPRISE!

AAAAND holy cow, I'm caught up! Not gonna lie, I enjoyed reading all of your updates and sat here and wished there was like, one more. I didn't even realize I was reading TODAY'S update until I got to the bottom and noticed no link! Hahaha. So glad I'm caught up and don't feel so out of the loop anymore! :goodvibes

DANG GIRL! GET IT! :worship: Aww, well, I'm sorry there wasn't more! I know what you mean, that's happened to me before. I'm glad you're caught up too! WOOHOO!!

NO not a dumb question! And to be honest I have no idea! Like I learned the answer at one point but I have since forgotten... oof. I do know that it operates seasonally as an ice cream shop, though, so... there's that... HAHAH.

Well if there is ice cream involved... :thumbsup2
