Day 3 Part 3--Meg's FAVORITE MGM Attraction, Dinner, and ToT X2
We veered off towards...
Meg's Favorite MGM Attraction!
Which is quite possibly my favorite attraction in WDW. Next to Expedition: Everest, ToT, and Splash Mountain. And Figment. But I digress.
As you mayyyy recall, we've seen all the 3D movies so far.
Except one.
Muppet*Vision 3D.
Yes! You have guessed it! This is Meg's Favorite MGM Attraction!
Tahhhh-daaaa!
I adore Muppet*Vision. Ah-dore it. Love it to pieces. 80's outfits in the background, corny gags, "cheap 3D tricks", and all. It's just so...loveable!
We watched (most of) the pre-show (which is my favorite pre-show in WDW).
Settled into the comfy, comfy seats.
Ahh, happiness in the form of Muppets
After narrowly escaping the Swedish Chef's antics (and the theater blowing up!), we wandered around before our dinner ADR's.
On the Streets of America, we ran into these guys:
(Sorry the first pic is dark; not sure what was up with the camera)
It was time for our ADR's.
We had booked the Fantasmic! Dinner Package. We had done this our previous ('03) trip, and had dined at the Hollywood & Vine (which we found mediocre).
We decided on Mama Melrose's.
YUM!
First of all:
You get a LOT of food! Each person (each PERSON!) gets an appetizer, entree, and dessert.
This is a LOT of food.
And you know how Italians LOVE to eat, so the portions are large, too.
Needless to say, we were stuffed.
But the food was pretty darn good
I recommend it!
Aly and I at the restaurant:
Mama Melrose's is pretty cool and funky inside. Think...Hollywood meets Italian Vineyard.
Stuffed, there was only one thing to do.
Ride ToT.
Yes, on full stomachs.
Are we crazy?
Only slightly
It was very, very fun at night.
Our first time around (10 minute wait), a very nervous woman (and her family) were in the elevator with us. The elevator arrives, the first row of people start to go in...
And alarm bells go off.
We're not allowed on the elevator
The woman got even more nervous. "This is part of the ride, right? They're just trying to pysche us out? Right? Right?"
Turns out that the previous elevator stopped due to an injury (or something).
We got back on the elevator in a few minutes.
The poor woman was even more nervous now.
She was hilarious. "Oh god, oh god, oh god...are we gonna drop now? Are we gonna drop now? ARE WE GONNA DROP NOOOOOOOOOOW OHMYGOD!"

We left a very fun ride on a haunted elevator, looked at each other, and went for another go.
10 minutes
It was almost time for Fantasmic!
But it had been raining all day. They kept making announcements that it might be cancelled due to inclement weather.
Darn that Faye!
It was our last night.
Fantasmic! is our favorite WDW night-show.
Would we get rained out?
Stay tuned!
