Before i went to WDW for my first time, i did my homework; read the books, read all your tips and reports.

But no matter what i read NOTHING could prepare me for how big WDW really is.

To any 1st timers that fact can not be stressed enough.

To anyone who thinks that they can do it in a week - No way jose!

We spent a week there and only saw a fraction of it. We only did Magic Kingdom for one day - two days would definately be needed if you wanted to see a good size chuck of it.

You need at least a day at Typhoon Lagoon and at least half a day at Downton Disney.

yep - i would love to go again but def. for two weeks.

I agree, the thing that stands out in my mind from our first trip 2 years ago is that it consistently took longer to get places than we thought it would beforehand. By the end of the week we were leaving twice as much time as we had originally planned.

(phone call to me from a close friend)

"We went to Epcot last Wed and we did everything. We didn't have to wait for any of the rides and we saw all of the countries. Why do you go every year? Doesn't it get boring?"

I have resided to just keeping my mouth shut in these situations. Nothing I can say or do will convince them of anything different, but I know the truth. LOL The sad part is, if it wasn't for me, they probably would never have gone. All that matters is that they did have fun, even if they "did" everything in one day.Oh well, to each their own and less lines for me! :)

I agree with the 2 week assesment. I have been telling my wife for years we need a 2 week trip to WDW. But, with our work schedules, it makes it tough. I tried for 10 days this year, but she wouldn't have any of it. I guess I'll just keep trying.

I've never even gone for over 5 days, but then again, I've been there over 30 times.

When we go this Novemeber, it will be our 6th trip in 7 years and we STILL haven't seen it all.

Although, we like to see a lot of the same things over and over again.

The first few times it does seem overwhelming, but the more you visit the smaller it seems to get:D We like to take shorter trips so there is always something "new" for the next visit. After 40+ trips, it does get a lot easier.

Same here.... this will be my upteenth trip and DH's fifth. We see something new everytime. It is nicer as you go more often. You feel less rushed and less pressure to get everything in. Some of the best memories happen when you aren't looking for them. ;)

My first time in March of this year I was quite shocked by how big the parks were plus how big the grouds were - like the OP none of the maps or books gave me an idea of scale until we were there.

All I could say at the time was wow!!!

Thanks
Jason
