You can't activate AP vouchers at MK????

Hey all,

I have a question on a related topic. I just bought annual passes from my local AAA office and we are going to be making a trip up next weekend for my birthday (it's actually Thursday but you know how it is). We are going to spend Saturday and Sunday in the park and come home Sunday night. We are debating driving up Friday night and getting in late just so we can go straight to the parks Saturday morning without having to drive up. Where in Disney (or outside for that matter) is open the latest for getting our AP vouchers converted to regular passes (and what time is that)? If we can get that out of the way Friday night it would make Saturday that much quicker.

You can go to any park Guest Relations - they are all open until at least park closing, sometimes later.

Jsmply, you can activate them the night before, that's what I did but bear in mind it will cause your AP to expire one day earlier that way. I went right as Illumunations was about to start to the window at EPCOT's back gate. Activated mine and purchased DD's, then noticed that it made them be really good for only 364 days unless we wanted to use them to go in and then right back out the turnstile. Do you ahve the 800 # so that you could call ahead and see what hotels had availability with the AP rate? it's 800-828-0228.

The reason Guest Relations is not listed on there is just that, it is GUEST RELATIONS, not a TICKET WINDOW. We try to strongly discourage Guests from going to GR with ticket issues because that is what the Ticket Windows are for. GR is for Guest issues, complaints, refunds, etc etc etc. If you are by-passing the TTC (which it sounds like you are) by all means, please do use GR. But, we find that most Guests feel they need to go to GR for the simplest ticket matters when they really do not. It lets GR spend more time on GR issues and not just tickets, which could have been done elsewhere.

No flames please, just stating the facts I deal with everyday.

I actually got in trouble with a ticket-window Cast Member for not using Guest Relations for an AP activation.

Go figure!

"in trouble"? What did they say or do? I am so used to getting "Disney white glove service" that I do not tolerate it when I don't. Things certainly have changed over the years, but there is no excuse for a cast member to be rude to a paying guest!

I got a snippy "This is usually done at Guest Relations!"

Fortunately, I had asked a manager-looking type who was wandering around - looked like he was trying to clean out lines to close the windows - if I could activate since I was staying at the Poly but had no intention of visiting the Magic Kingdom at that moment. He told me it was okay.

So when I got attitude, I just let her know I'd been approved by the guy out front. :)
