YOLO Part Cruise: Land, Sea and Halloween! Updatedx2 4/27 TRIP VIDEO

seems as if you folks had an early start of Christmas with all those DVC gifts. good lookin' chicken "fangers" as we call them in the south. you just needed a bottle of hot sauce and a bit more ketchup for the fries. i see brittany is not only the planking princess but also the putt putt princess. she is one talented lady. have you ever played Winter Summerland mini golf at Disney? i have once. now i need to make it over to Fantasia Gardens. one more reason to go back. as if i needed one.

Buffalo chicken fingers with some blue cheese sounds delicious. She just the talented one of the group and she didn't even really want to play putt putt. I have not been to summerland but I did putt putt at fantasia Gardens.

Great updates! The mini golf looks cute!

Thank you! I enjoyed the Goofy spin on it

We Only Ever Eat At The Royal Palace
After playing putt putt we headed back to our room where we decided to do some tidying up. Brittany and I headed to the Spa to shower again while Alicia and Andy stayed back at the room to start their packing.
The experience at the spa this time was not as nice…only because I took a huge chunk of my leg off. I however got to use their nice haircare products again

I told Brittany what happened and how blood was everywhere…so we headed down to deck 1. We were so confused we saw a hallway, which was for CMs only and we just needed the health center. Luckily we found a nice CM who pointed us in the right direction. The receptionist lady was kind enough to give me some band-aids

After our fun little adventure we stopped by Ma’s stateroom to get some more of Pa’s coco butter. Then we headed back to our room to get ready for dinner and pack up all our things.
Kiss came over and him and Andy hung out

As we were getting ready, we sailed away from Castaway Cay and headed back to Florida

Around 5:30 we stopped our packing and headed down to dinner. We noticed that Mickey was out in his Halloween outfit and we had the time so we decided to jump in the non-existing line. We still had to choose a photo to get with our free DVC gift

After meeting with the famous mouse we made our way to the fanciest restaurant on our Dream dining rotation. This would be our third time at this restaurant.

First thing we got like all the previous nights was some delicious bread

I’m pretty sure this night I won the game of who had the most cherries in her drink

While looking over the menu it came to the point were I wouldn’t eat ANY appetizer in “real” life. Nothing really sounded good but because we had the opportunity to try new foods that’s what we did. Stephanie took our food orders and we waited around till our apps arrived.

I ordered the duck, now some people may have had duck before but this was my first time. I was nervous because I am not an adventurous eater give me my chicken fingers and fries and I’m good. However I decided to try it, Brittany told me it was “gamey” tasting and I was unaware of what I should expect

Overall it wasn’t bad, but I would get chicken or turkey over duck.

Kiss got some cauliflower soup with poor baby nemos on top

Somebody got a salad and some French onion soup

Danielle, Adam, Andy and Kiss were really brave an ordered the escargot

Holly was the one to serve out the appetizers so Adam asked if there was a special way to eat it. She didn’t know so she went to get the expert Stephanie. Stephanie came over and just told them the pick it up and eat it.

On the count of 3 they all took their first snail….we all got our laughs for the night.
Kiss wasn’t a fan but ate all of them while everyone else was pretty much done.
We learned that Stephanie had to try everything in each restaurant in order to help the guests, the only thing she said she would not eat was the escargot.

For the main course I only have one picture of the steak…so I guess the steak option was popular.

After finishing our main course we received an envelope inviting us to pretty happening party.

i guess it was kind of sad sailing away from Castaway Cay, but exciting knowing what awaited you once you got back to Florida. nice food pics, but the only thing that looked good to me was the salad and your drink. my wife's best friend got escargot at the french restaurant in epcot. i can be an adventurous eater, but i draw the line at snails. i couldn't do duck either. i am a big fan of Donald. and there's no way i could put Donald under a knife and fork.

The Goofy Golf looks like a lot of fun! I am a big fan of miniature golf, and any mini golf that is Disney themed is all right by me. :thumbsup2

No line for Halloween Mickey?? :faint: Sounds like a cruise is even a better option for meeting Halloween characters than MNSSHP!

I'm like you, not an adventurous eater at all. But I guess the best place to try to be adventurous is on a cruise when you don't pay for each thing you order and you can always order something else. :thumbsup2

As a side note, have you seen on the news about that Royal Caribbean cruise ship where so many people got what they think is norovirus? It made me think of y'all washing your hands so much in your trip video!! :rotfl: But seriously, what a miserable cruise those RC folks had!

I don't think I will ever try escargot just does not sound good to me. I decided to be adventurous with duck and that was ok. It wasn't horrible.

It really was! A lot of the characters were out in their halloween costumes before dinner we just weren't able to make it to the big halloween meet and greets.
I told myself I would try something new because if I didn't like it I had the option of getting something else.
I did here the news! That must have been an awful experience. I am so thankful Disney was all about washing and wiping our hands.

Broadway And Richard Sherman

You are invited…

to a DESSERT PARTY!!!

Stephanie told us the previous night how good all the desserts were so we were really looking forward to the selection. And this invitation menu was no let down.
Unfortunatley the only let down was the time we had to wait to enjoy them. So in the mean time it was time to create our own party.

Dessert came out and it was quite delicious

Pa enjoyed himself a nice warm cup of tea

Andy enjoyed his sundae

Alish was just being her weird self

and enjoying the white chocolate

At the beginning of the meal Jackson decided to share a meal with the table behind us because he made friends with the children in the family.
The waiter at this table was talented, his talent was napkin folding. He made the girls Minnie mouse hats and boys Peter Pan hats.

Our dinner came to an end, which was a little sad because it would be the last dinner on the Dream. We would however see Stephanie and Holly again at our breakfast tomorrow morning at 6:45….

After dinner we went to take a photo with Captain Mickey because we thought that would be a cuter photo to “purchase” rather than Halloween Mickey.
Mickey’s line was longer tonight and once we got in line he had to “go give me a rose like he does everynight” So while we waited for Mickey we decided to take in the beauty of the Dream

Across the way on level up was Tiana and Aurora just hanging out. Once again no line because they were higher up while the crowd was down below

Mickey’s character attendant Erik happened to also be in the shows in the past 3 nights. It wasn’t hard to tell since he was mine and Brittany’s favorites.
Mickey came back and we got a photo with him and left to go spend some more money.

We went to the shops and browsed again hoping the choice of which shirt to buy would be easier than the previous times. Well it wasn’t and we had about 10 minutes before we should head to the theater. I narrowed down my option of 2 shirts and decided to wait till have the show to purchase something.

Tonight we sat on the opposite side of the theater which was weird.
This show tonight was a special DVC show, Disney on Broadway

The show consisted of 5 performers from Disney musicals on Broadway

Heidi Blickenstaff – Ursula
Ashley Brown – Belle and Original Mary Poppins on Broadway
Merle Dandridge
- Aida and Kala
Josh Strickland
- Tarzan
Alton Fitzgerald White – Mufasa

They sang a bunch of Disney music.
One of my personal favorite parts was when they did the Mary Poppins segment. Literally this cruise had become the Mary Poppins cruise from Richard Sherman to Saving Mr. Banks and now the original Mary from Broadway.
She sang supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and brought a couple kids up on stage to do the arm spelling of it like they do in the show. I’ve learned the choreography a long time ago at dance so I was really excited that they were doing them. Ashley taught simple arms for the audience to follow and we all got out of our seats and did it with them.

Right after we found out the Richard Sherman was in the audience sitting in the box seats right above us!!! Too much excitement in one night.

Next they performed a song from the new Aladdin the Musical called A Million Miles Away, which I instantly fell in love with. Of course now when I listen to it I can only picture Tarzan and Mary singing it not Aladdin and Jasmine :rotfl:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRJa11pghCQ

Another highlight of the night was the talk about Jungle Book the Musical. During this time “Mufasa” and “Tarzan” had a sing off to I Wanna Be Like You. They split the theatre in half one side sang the main part while the other side sang the echo parts. Josh was rocking the monkey walk, which makes since because he was tarzan. Our side automatically won because we had Richard Sherman!

The last song they sang came from Aladdin the Musical and was also another cute original song called Somebody’s Got Your Back.
Once Darren the cruise director could even come on stage and do his usual talk about the nights events we booked our way out of the theater. This way we could get out before the crowd.

i have to admit after reading of your hi-jinx on the high seas i'm seriously rethinking my position on cruises. me & maw & diane (my wife's best friend) might have to do this in the not too distant future. do you have to dress up for dinner (supper for us southerners)? i go fighting and screaming and resisting tooth & nail if i have to get all fancy. comfort, that's where it's at for this old hippie. there seems to be nonstop activities on the ship. but for me it would be the food. as usual, enjoying your updates. keep 'em coming.

I love how a Disney cruise is like, THE place to have food adventures and try new things. A show to end the night also sounds so relaxing and a perfect place to digest before going to eat more, haha. My husband and I just got back from our trip to Disney, and my stomach is totally used to eating a simple cereal bar/granola bar breakfast, early lunch, early dinner, and then late night dinner. Now that we're at home, I'm hungry at 10pm and want a meal!

Hi Sam and Brittany,

Just caught up with your trip report. Such a great job bringing back all the good memories from our cruise. You guys really took advantage of everything DCL has to offer and had a great time.

The Donald Plank has to be one of Brittany's greatest hits! Very cool!!

Keep enjoying life the way you all do...It's way too short.

And don't forget....YOLO!!!!!

Jim

P.S. Ma & Pa - don't forget about Alaska 2015.

Dessert overload!!! Every single thing looks delicious.

The show sounds amazing! What a way to spend the final night on the cruise. :goodvibes

YES! You should really consider it! You did not have to dress up fancy any night, they have different restaurants for the atmosphere of classy dining that you pay more for. There are so many activities that I need to go on another cruise to get more stuff done that I didn't get a chance to do.

A Disney cruise is ALL ABOUT THAT FOOD! Well maybe not, but for us it was. It was nice not having to worry about paying for food and knowing you could get as much as you please. It was heaven!
It seemed like you had a great trip! Your photos made me sad and wished I was there!

We were all over that boat! No Sleeping on a Disney Cruise!
I was pretty impressed with Brittany's planking abilities and us not getting caught.
We are all ready for another Disney cruise! Alaska here we come!

Dessert overload!!! Every single thing looks delicious.

We saved the best desserts for the last night and I couldn't have been happier.
At first I wasn't sure if I would like it but it was so good and entertaining.

Our Last Night Aboard The Dream

First stop after the show was purchasing a shirt, I chose which one I wanted and charged it to my card. We ran back up to our room because our luggage needed to be out in the hall before 10:30. This was a stressful time, we saw everyone’s luggage already out, we needed to clean our stateroom, we needed to make sure we had everything we needed for the morning and to top it all off we were sad the cruise was at an end.

I finished up and took my luggage outside when Omar stopped by.
I had a little conversation with him, he said he was sorry we never crossed paths more but if we needed anything he would be more than happy to help. He was so sweet.

Brittany and I had our luggage ready and out in the hallway just in time to head down to check out the farewell show. We made it to deck 5 and decided to just look down to the main atrium. First thing they did was introduce the characters and then they would be meeting for about 20 minutes or so. So we ran back to our room to find the rest of the gang who weren’t at the room anymore. So we headed to shutters where they picked out the photo and we were to come back tomorrow morning at 7 to pick it up.

We headed back down to deck 3 to watch the farewell show. The characters were finishing up and soon some sad Disney music filled the main atrium

We went sailing, sailing away
See Ya Real Soon!

Then they all said their goodbyes

At the very end of the “show” they shot out little golden mickeys. So of course we all grabbed ourselves a handful to bring home.
We headed back to our room and on our way there we passed Tim O’day, who looked like he was on a mission because Brittany literally just pointed at him as he walked passed us and he didn’t even notice.

It was our last night on the Dream, we planned on going swimming because we never went. Well that didn’t happen because we weren’t really feeling it. Instead we decided to order some room service and watch a movie.

Ma and Pa stopped by the room and told Alicia that she could use her CM discount on merchandise. When Alicia purchased something the CM told her she couldn’t so Ma, Pa, Alicia and Andy went down to the stores to put the discount on and get money back.

While they were gone I took a photo of the ceiling of my bunk because it was precious

Room service ended up arriving before they got back

While we waited for them to get back, we decided on a movie to watch. Our decision, Mary Poppins because we felt like it was only fitting. We also started to eat without them.

Brittany got a Mickey Premium Bar

I got myself a nice Caesar salad…surprise surprise.

Alicia, Andy and Kiss came back to the room and enjoyed their food while we started Mary Poppins

Alicia got some wrap I believe

Kiss and Andy both enjoyed some chicken fingers and fries

This night Brittany was the first one ready to get some shut eye

It was funny because she was talking about something and then a moment later Alicia asked her a question and she didn’t respond. She was literally out cold. Cruising can be very exhausting.

We didn’t end up finishing the movie, I fell asleep real early into it. The ship was rocking once again luckily it wasn’t as bad as the first day. It just rocked us all to sleep.
Tomorrow was an early day…last meal on the Dream at 6:45!

i do like the ceiling over your bed. i'm gonna have to get one for our room. the wife might not like it too much but i'll just have to put my foot down. well i guess it would look good in the doghouse (where i'll be banished after putting said foot down). move over peanut (our chihuahua) looks like i"m moving in. can't go wrong with a mickey premium bar. wishing i had one right now. i find it hard to believe you ordered a caesar salad. you never order a caesar salad. do you eat them at home or is it a Disney thing?

What's funny is that you guys could easily hang out in a resort room on Disney property and eat food, but there's something so fun about the idea of hanging out in a room on a cruise with room service! It just sounds like something that everyone should do! Looks like room service offers quite a variety! I'm so used to it being more continental breakfast type stuff only.

Sad that it's your last night on the ship!

I just fall more and more in love with cruising every post of yours! It is so perfect.

Also...Richard Sherman. :lovestruc All the Super Bowl hoopla with the Seahawks Richard Sherman...Ugh....the whole time I was like can we all just focus on the REAL Richard Sherman? :confused3 AKA the most perfect one ever who wrote the most delightful songs with his brother?!

I'm so sad you are on the last night...I wish there could be a million more cruise posts from you guys!

That show with the Disney Broadway performers sounds wonderful! Aladdin is opening here pretty soon and I can not wait! Especially because the dude who voiced Jafar in the movie is playing him... that is gonna be so cool.

The pics from the goodbye ceremony are adorable, I love the characters in their cruise outfits.

I have NO clue where I left off because I am a horrible dis-er, BUT, I am picking up when you guys got on the ship. It really looks like there was no one else out in the pool right away, that’s totally awesome! So much space to yourselves!!

Awe the fish extender thing seems so cute and awesome, what a lovely little surprise each time you came home! Lol. They really keep these ships sanitary hey? That’s crazy, but understandable!!

The toy story room is seriously amazing, that’s so cool! All of them look super awesome, yay!! Love the bean bag picture too, super cute! Ahahaha, love the idea of the “no lifevests needed” and panning to you guys, I did love the random life vest dance party part of the video, it was great!

AH!! It always catches me sooooo off guard when someone else puts my napkin on my lap like “oh…oop…what are you ….oh…that’s what youre doing” like…#awkward

Shrimp cheesecake? That sounds interesting…Hahah, BALLCHANGE! Yes! I can’t imagine that if you guys were having trouble with the walking how much the performers must be able to adapt to it! I’m definitely bookmarking that link to watch after work!!

Awe man I feel like there are SO MANY things to do on a cruise that I wouldn’t be able to do it all in the amount of time lol! Haha, I’m totally like Alicia & Brittany, I usually set the first alarm on the time I’d like to get up, and then one when I NEED to get up, and sometimes more. Disney vacations I’ll set my alarm early if I want to go for a run or something, then have the wake up call wake us all up, and then my phone set for a later time as well just in case, bahha!

Castaway Cay is beautiful!! This TR is definitely making me want to do a cruise, despite being kinda nervous about boats! Ahahha, “it’s 5 oclock somewhere”! totes agree with that, and plastic coconuts! That’s kinda lame, but still cool!

UGH the beach looks so amazing and wonderful!!

Also, how much stuff is extra money once you’re on the cruise? This confuses me lol

Oh my gosh, I would end up SO burnt if I put a chair in the water!! Such a great way to cool off, but then I’d forget about the sun and seriously be a LOBSTER! Lol. Ah the picture of Brittany planking in the ocean didn’t load! Lol, I’ll have to go back and refresh the page after reading cause I bet it’s a classic!

Again, I love the FE gifts, it’s such a neat and cute idea!! Wait…you have the same servers each night of the cruise?! Oh my gosh the sun effects! Ouch! Super glad they have a bunch of characters on the cruises!

MICKEY CONFETTI!! (on your forehead!) DID THEY HAVE THAT ON THE SHIPS!??! I managed to collect so much of it from Move It Shake It but they’ve since taken it out of the parade and it makes me SO SAD!

The villains show sounds interesting!!

Ahaha the eat cruise & eat more shirt seems to just describe my life! I would totally get that one! The Sherman brothers thing sounds amazing and like something that would be totally awesome to get to experience!! Sucks that the sun was too much for you!!

I would totally smuggle booze into resturants too…lol..done it at stampede before. OH NO!! The spilt pop!! AH! Glad everything got worked out for in the future! Pirate night looks like it was pretty awesome though, lots of fun things to do and the fact that it’s themed obviously makes it better!! Oh my gosh all the selfies! That is perfect! School bread crepe! YES! Pirate night looks like it was a blast all around, too bad the dance party didn’t go on for longer!

I think the water trike part of the trip video was one of my favorites! Lol.

Love all the photo ops on the way back to the ship! Esp that shot of you & Brittany back to back, it’s so awesome!! I’m actually kind of glad that I ended up reading all the cruise updates at once, gave me a full experience of what a few days onboard would be!! I definitely want to do a cruise now, so thank you for sharing all the adventures you guys had!

That would be the cutest ceiling ever I would approve! Disney using a really good caesar dressing. I do however eat caesar salads at home, I'm just a freak who enjoys them.

Sad that it's your last night on the ship!

We did enjoy our pizza party in our room the first YOLO trip which was nice. We enjoy our food and being able to unwind and be lazy can be a nice thing. And plus you don't have to pay for room service on the cruise which is very nice.

Wonderful pics! :)

Thanks!

I just fall more and more in love with cruising every post of yours! It is so perfect.

I fell in love with cruising more and more each day on the Dream. It is such a great vacation!

OH MY GOSH I WAS SAYING THE SAME THING!
I didn't really watch much of the superbowl but every time they talked about richard sherman I could only think of the cute old Richer Sherman. I love him so much.

That show with the Disney Broadway performers sounds wonderful! Aladdin is opening here pretty soon and I can not wait! Especially because the dude who voiced Jafar in the movie is playing him... that is gonna be so cool.

It was so wonderful I love it!
Brittany actually went to see Aladdin in toronto and she said that it was funny because Jafar was great but he was the only white guy on stage.

This comment though....
The fish extenders exchange was a lot of fun, I would definitely do it again!
I give a lot of credit to those performers because the first night I couldn't even walk a straight line at some points.
There was not enough time to get everything done. They have so many activities going on at once throughout the day and there is just no way to get to everything. Just another reason to get on the Dream again.
I don't like all those alarms, I hate being woke up just for one time let alone 2 or 3 times each morning.
Castaway Cay is paradise! I loved it there so much. The only thing I was worried about was being out in the middle of the ocean and like "oh hey its all water you better not go by the side and drop something overboard" But that didn't end up bothering me at all.

The only things you have to pay for is alcohol, merchandise, spa, castaway cay rentals, fine dining experiences, and thats really about it.

That is what happened, the sun was melting us so we decided to sit in the water where we couldn't feel the rays burning our skin. Sometimes those things happen and now we know better.
YES you have the same servers! You have a dining rotation so you go to each restaurant for you vacation, and you have the same table number at each. So you also sit around the same people every night.
The mickey confetti came from the Golden Mickeys! I have about 56 golden mickey confetties...no shame...you can never have enough.
Pirate night was a lot of fun. I don't know if I was really a hug fan of the show they had for it but we made the best out of the night. After club pirate ended they told us that we could go to the clubs which would be open for the rest of the night.
Thank you so much! I'm glad I could give out information of what a disney cruise has to offer. I would highly recommend a Disney cruise!!!
