YOAMD Postcards and Winners

Allright. I caved.
I bought postcards from the post office.
Surprisingly cheap.
Sending in one for each of us everyday.
I was reading about people winning, but I never sent anything in.
You can't win unless you send them in.
So here goes nothing.
I have sent in about 10 so far.
And will keep doing so.

I know I could buy them on EBay, but it's not the same.
It's more fun this way.

I'm with you--I didn't think anyone would be winning from sending in postcards. I was SO wrong. I'm ready to cave myself.

Can I ask how much for the postcards? I might just have to make a trip up there on Monday.

People are sending them in with their kids' names, too, right? Can I send one in for my 3 yr old?

Good luck to you!!!

26 cents..until postage goes up anyway, so I haven't bought too many as I don't want to have to put an extra stamp on or anything.

You can send in one per person per day, and that does include your 3 year old. Good luck! :)

Yep they were 26 cents a piece.
The postage was 24 cents of it, so two cents for the card wasn't that bad

Good luck to everyone

DH won ears last week, and I won a lanyard and two pins today!!! That's what I was hoping for! :goodvibes

I have a quick question. I know there are WDW ears and DL ears, are there WDW pins and DL pins?? :confused3

Well the majority have come certified, requiring a signature - maybe your postman did something wrong.

I suspect the postal carrier is making it easier on me by taking the certificate off of the package and leaving it anyway. The first package came to the PO, and I had to go there and sign for it, but every package thereafter (6 more) has been delivered to my mailbox with the certificate ripped off, no signature asked for. We have the neighborhood mailboxes, not the individual, so the carrier generally doesn't come to our doorstep anyway. I wonder if that's the reason they're allowed to do this.
The postage paid by Disney looks to be the certified rate.

The lanyards and pins say "Walt Disney World" on them, so I suspect there are "Disneyland Resort" ones out there.

Sounds like your letter carrier is being lazy and not doing his job correctly. He's probably signing for you because all those certified slips need to be accounted for at the end of the work day.

Yeah, probably, but I'm not going to complain about it, since it saves me a trip to the Post Office every time. I'm never home at mail delivery time.

Wow. I've sent at least 50 and have won nothing. Are you taping $50 bills to your postcards??!!

Patience. I sent all the postcards during the first 100 days of the promotion, and many of them are just now being drawn. I imagine there's quite a backlog, and there will be many more opportunities to win before the end of December.

WOHOOOOOOO my daughter won the lanyard today. It is the DL one. SHe will be so excited when she gets home from school. I bought her a bunch of pins for easter.

I was so happy I wanted to kiss the mail man (he is hot) lol

Well all of the posted winners convinced me too.

I also got the postcards from the post office. I used labels for the To address, but I've been decorating them with various stickers and messages along with our required contact info. I'm sending in 5 a day (1 for each member in my family, and also for my mom and dad who are coming with us this fall on our WDW trip). I'm not sure if I'll get another 100 after my 20 days of sending are up, but I think it would be great to get something in the mail to help set the mood for our trip this fall!

It only takes one to win! :goodvibes

Ok..where do you get the address for the postcards, we are going in July and would love to have something to get my DD excited before we go. She is 4 and a little skeptical about Disney after seeing the wicked step mother online in one of the parades. Anyone that can help I would really appreciate it..I also have another unrelated question..What is the Disney Photo Pass..? I have seen it talked about in a lot of sites but can't get a full description of what it is..:wizard:

I wish Canada has postcard rates. It's $0.93 each time I mail something to the US. But I figure this is a good way to encourage me to bring coffee from home instead of buying a cup each day at work :goodvibes

Woo hoo I finally won!

We came home Sunday from 10 wonderful days at WDW and the certified slip was waiting with the mail. I won the lanyard and two pins.

I have been sending in 2 postcards a day since the first of February. Even while in WDW we dropped thim in the mail slot every day on the way to the parks. While I would have loved to win something in the parks this was a nice surprise to come home to :)

Congrats! I just started entering so I probably won't see anything for a couple of months (if I'm that lucky :rotfl: )

Are there mailboxes in the parks? I was thinking of doing that on my trip since postage is cheaper in the US.

Yep, there are mailboxes all over WDW...at the resorts, at the parks, and if you're offsite, all over the place.

Cool! I will have to get my friend to send me some stamps or prepaid postcards!!

I was wondering if maybe you had a friend in the states that you could send a large package of postcards that are addressed and ready to go and they could just put US postage on them for you and drop them in the mail. Then you could just reimburse them for the stamps. The initial shipment might be a little expensive...but still probably cheaper than trying to mail the postcards individually from Canada.

I thought about that :) The friend I was thinking of is an exec at a venture capital firm so he probably doesn't have the time. I could get him to put them all in the mailbox at once but I think that's against the rules :rotfl: The other people I know in the US, I don't know them well enough to ask ...

My DS just won the lanyard. He was sooo excited when he saw the package. He just keptr saying I never win anything. :cloud9:
