Many, many times. I love it there! The other military resort I stayed at was Hale Koa right on Waikiki Beach. A beach view room for $120/night (that was 5 years ago though).

A little bit softer now, a little bit softer now, a little bit louder now, a little bit louder now, hey a hey a!!!

Is it still Disney-fied or do they tone down the whole theming? I've never really seen any pictures, so I have no idea what it looks like. I guess I should look it up...lol

It's a country inn theme - very, very nice. The rooms are huge - bigger than any other standard room at WDW. BTW, I don't think GF is stuffy either, just way over priced! We were there for a wedding a couple of years ago and everyone was very nice.

I enjoyed Hawaii......

Thank you Al, I was feeling a little alone here! LOL

Yea, much like everything in Disney, way overpriced. I think the Poly is extremely overpriced for the rooms you get, I told Beth I wouldn't stay there unless we were getting Florida discount rates. Then again, we always try to get Florida rates...heh.

I'm surprised you hadn't stayed there when it was the "Disney Inn" years ago, before it became SOG. The rooms are quite large..they used to have a sitting area and two queen beds. We had been to the golf course there once, and they had a warning out for aligators.:faint: We left. They used to have the topiaries of the seven dwarfs back then. Not sure what it's like now..but was very quaint at the time. This was in the mid 90's.

Trust me, I am pre law. I thought you were pre med? What's the difference?

anybody got any Tums? I'm fealing like I wanna throw up.

I stayed there in the early 80's when it was the golf resort. I don't remember too much about it other than my Dad swore he would never stay in a non-monorail resort again! I won't remind him of that because he is staying at WL this December.:rolleyes1

I think it changed to SoG in late 1994. We stayed there in April 1995 (Easter). First trip to WDW in modern times.

Our first trip with the all our kids was '91...and I don't think we visited there our first trip. Maybe it was '93 then when we were over that way. I remember my daughter saw the topiaries and in all seriousness said "look ma..the seven DORKS"...:rotfl: Jeese..I wish she was that little again

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily. Listen to him, he is pre med!

You know..I think I like WL more because it ISN"T a monorail resort. Just takes it down a notch. While the Poly has a nice laid back feel to it...the idea of the monorail was never a consideration for us. It can be a hike to get to it, depending on where your long house is located anyway. We found ourselves taking the water launch to the MK, when we stayed there, and didn't have to deal with the monorail crowds. I like the water launch from the WL to the MK...such a nice liesurely way to reach the MK..and no, I don't mind when it stops at the Fort either. I rather enjoy it. I don't know why people are in such a rush, when it's supposed to be their vacation.

Fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son!
