Okay everybody....get real close & listen up....

(Whispering here...so get real close)

Scott changed the name of "Sorry...ignore this - the sequel" to the "Official Ron Burgundy Thread" so it would fade into obscurity. THAT took nerve & I for one thinks he deserves at least 100 points for a personal attack on me. (Are ya listenin' Scott?)

So...help a sistah out.... everyone go to the Ron Burgundy thread and ignore the snot out of it, please!!!

Thank you in advance!:thumbsup2

Wynottah sends her regards, as well!

What Ron Burgundy thread, I don't see no stinkin Ron Burgundy Thread:woohoo: :woohoo: :confused3

my advice to you is to take two jello shots, and call me in the a.m.

i just might do that...however, they gave me this horribly HUGE set of 2 bottles of barium to drink for this ct scan...

they called me this afternoon and said, you might want to put it in the refrigerator, it tastes a little better when you do that...:scared1:

those two bottles are bigger than Jason's sippie cups! Each!

ouch....... you'd think if we can put a man on the moon, they could make medicine taste like alcohol.

Are you REALLY going to stay at the GF over labor day weekend???? That place is like a kazillion $$$$'s!!! You got rich relatives or just a really, really great paying job??? (Need an assistant or a cuzzin:laughing:?)

I know you were talking to Killabrew, but I have to say that the GF is the only resort I have yet to stay at at Disney (over my 32 years of visiting). I made it a point to stay in each resort at least once, but I wanted to save the GF for after I was married (plus, could never really afford it before...heh).

We were going to go this year for our anniversary, but Beth was pregnant with Reilly and we figured it would be better if we went when he was a little bit older. So definitely in the next few years we plan on going, it's going to be great staying at a resort with Beth and not having some previous memory of staying there. She thinks it's kind of special too, or she's just sick of thinking what girl did Chris bring to this resort...lol.

The place is definitely super expensive, so we'll be saving up for that trip for sure. We're not rich by any means, but we do alright ;)

I must be weird, cause none of the deluxes really appeal to me. The only moderate I "really" like is POFQ. I like visiting the deluxes and have had some great meals at the deluxes, but as far as staying somewhere, I much prefer having a 1st floor room with outside doors and a Food Court where we can grab something quick on the way to the bus. The values and POFQ are the only resorts that fit that bill.

The Fort is in a totally different class cause I can have my quick breakfast right at the camper.

(I did really enjoy the jacuzzi tub the 1 night I got to stay in the BWV 1 bedroom, but for an extended trip, I don't think I'd enjoy having to trek down that hall all the time.)

We've stayed Poly, Beach Club and WL, as far as Deluxe. Caribbean Beach as a moderate. We prefer the WL out of the four. Although, I would stay at the Poly if it were just my husband and I..our kids want no part of it. Think it's boring.
I've visited the GF..and have eaten there. Would I stay there. ..hmmm...not so much. I'm just not impressed with it. If I were to choose a Deluxe to stay at without cost being an option, I think I'd go with Yacht Club..with a really nice view. ;) I like the location as far as it's proximity to both Epcot and the Studios. Even staying in the Deluxe resorts..we've never paid rack rate..always went with a discount or code. I don't think any of them is worth paying rack rate for. Not when there's a way around that. I'd think with being a Fl resident or having an AP there are ways to save most of the time.
Of course staying in FW..is the best option of all! :cool1:

I'd rather stay at the real thing than a disney rip-off version.

That is the way I have always felt about the Polly. I went and saw the real deal 11 years ago.

with the poly, i lived in the 70's, so i don't need to visit it, lol....... plus we did the real deal.

We visited alot of the resorts last May, just to check them out because we never have had time to do that before......Im a very regular guy, maybe even SUB-REGULAR, by this I mean...You'll never see me in a polo, Dockers and penny-loafers....EVER!!!!! EVER!!!! Baring that in mind....I felt so out of place walking through the GF.....very "Hmmmmmf'd" at and looked down upon....Im fairly used to this in my line of work and carrying the image that I do (bald head, goatee, fat.....must be a trouble maker) it doesnt so much bother me, but Id rather not subject myself to the yuppies prejudices. Im too simple for GF.Have NO DESIRE to ever even visit again...Id have loved to try Victoria & Alberts(Albert & Victoria's?)...but I cant eat with no tie on!!!

Now, the polynesian was my idea of paradise.....I felt like we were in a cheesy episode of Fantasy Island, and LOVED it.

But they just cant hold a candle to how comfortable I am at the fort...I can be who I am, and no one could care less. Thats a very comforting, homey feeling.

actually the otters and peacocks wanted to talk to you. for your next trip, they were hoping you'd stay at the koa.

Don't get me wrong the poly is nice but if I am at that type of resort I want to be able to hang 10 in a ocean.

I have to agree with you there..I just felt the GF was kind of stuffy. I have no desire to stay there. I don't begrudge anyone there own taste...but it's not my thing. The Poly had a nice laid back, relaxed feel, without being pretentious
I think the older I get..the less impressed I am with those type of resorts. Ooops..this must mean I'm getting pretty old:sad2: ...because I'd rather fly 1200 miles and stay in a rented 5th wheel in FW! :thumbsup2

we recently stayed at PO Riverside, that place is big and they don't rent electric carts, Pop Century we did enjoy, we like to resort hop when staying at the fort mainly for eating, the GF does have a high stuffiness factor in the main building, they even have a little jail in the lobby with a guy playing the piano for the condemed:rotfl2: or is that a bird cage?

I have to much money invested in my toys for the Fort. I have to stay at the Fort. Or at least I should. Plus its what I like.

We were once fishing on a guided excursion in front of the GF when a guy all dressed in a suit and tie asked the guide to move us cause someone complained that us fishing was making them ill. I'll never stay there even if it was free.

i could see the peacocks wanting me out...stuck up lil rainbow wearing feather weights!!! But I cant believe the otters would turn on me like that....after all the beer I left out for them!!!

SImulated GATOR CHOMP?
