Actually three times. It was frigid! We'll be doing Boma this time coming up, I assure you!

I'll be starting up a PTR real soon, thanks :)

So sorry we are nearing the end....but loved the report so far. :thumbsup2

That's all right! PTR coming soon, and I like sharing the pictures!

I'm a silent reader. But I'm here for the monkeys. Though this trip report is sadly missing clowns. :clown: And babnanas.

Sadly, I am coming to the close of my Trip Report. We leave Downtown Disney around 4:30 in the afternoon for the Grand Floridian. We drove straight to the GF, but when we get to the parking lot, would you believe we got lost? What on earth? Only the Southerners we are could get lost in a parking lot, lol. :rotfl:

We finally get in to the parkinglot, we walk to the Grand Floridian, and let me say, what a beautiful resort!

DH and the kids in front of the car in front of the Grand Floridian.

The lobby of the Grand Floridian. This resort is beautiful. It reminds me greatly of Charleston Place in Charleston, South Carolina.

We travel a little around the grounds at the Grand Floridian. At which time dh suggests staying there someday. I suggested maybe for an anniverasary with just the two of us, although Sweetie wants us three girls to go for two nights for her 13th birthday.

Either way, this is an awesome resort, and one day I will spend a week here, just not with the kids.

The beach nearing sunset.

Looking across at the Contemporary. I'd also love to stay here.

After strolling around some, we decided to check in to the Grand Floridian Cafe about 30 minutes early. Now, we decided to try the Grand Floridian Cafe, as it was easy to get a reservation here and it was in a great location to see the Magic Kingdom one more itme before we left. We were thankfully seated quickly and our server was awesome. And let me say this about the Grand Floridian Cafe. . .

Best.

Nom.

Ever.

We will be eating here on New Year's Eve, if I have to beg for reservations. This was the best meal on site, the best server on site, and no one complained. The restaurant is beautiful, as you can dimly see (I did not want flashes while others were enjoying their meals.)

And then, as if a sign from the heavens, Wishes started as we were finishing dessert.

We walked out of the parking lot (knowing where to go this time) to the last few seconds of Wishes, feeling full physically and magically.

As with all trips, we came back to reality quickly, and fully. We absolutely enjoyed our time there with Halloween decorations, the Food and Wine Festival, and some family time.

Until we start planning our next trip. . .stay tuned, because the next PTR is coming soon!!!

No clowns for me. . .and as Sweetie is allergic to bananas, I thought even babnanas would be an idea. Though I did briefly think of dressing as one for the MNSSHP.

Just wanted to pop in and give a great thanks to all of my readers. Both silent and not so silent. Even the Grumpy Pirates out there, lol. This has been an awesome opportunity to relive a great trip. Within the next couple of weeks I will be beginning my PTR for Christmas 2009/New Year's 2010. I am very excited that we are going back, even though it will be our last trip for a long while.

From time to time, we will talk about this trip and mention things like, "I really wish I had some Flame Tree Barbeque right now" or around Christmas when we would have oranges almost every day, "It smells like Soarin' in here!" Writing this trip report has kept the trip in limbo and alive for an additional 3 months and it's so time to start the corresponding scrapbook! Somehow I will be adding in my pretrip report and trip report to the scrapbook, as this website and community have been such an integral part in the journey.

I have learned a few things though about it all:
1. Never rely too much on what a Grumpy Pirate says.
2. Never commit angst on the Community Board. Leave it all light over there and it will save some frustration.
3. Don't discuss politics or religion. Also, don't get involved in tipping threads, resort pool hopping threads, putting too many people in a room threads, or the like.
4. For every resort hater, there are 50 lovers of that resort, so choose words carefully when giving a negative review on a resort.
5. There are wonderful people here who help greatly.
6. Trust everything Mean Queen tells you about Disney. She knows her stuff.
7. It's Okay to be a Disney fanatic.
and 8. I am lucky to have found the DIS, Passporter, Tour Guide Mike (even if he did frustrate me just a little at times), and the Unofficial Guide. But ESPECIALLY the DIS.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey and stay tuned for my PreTrip Report: The Return of the Disney Box: A PreTrip Report for Christmas 2009 and New Year's 2010.

Hi,
Jusdt found your tr this morning and read it. It was a great report. Sorry the last day didn't go as smooth as the other ones but it was still a great trip it sounds like.
