Yikes .. Missed Toll Booth

While traveling from WBC to Port Canaveral last month my husband thought he might have missed a toll booth. I was not being a very good co-pilot and was on my phone researching something so I wasn't paying attention. I can't imagine how we did it but I noticed a charge on our credit card today for $3.95 for "Alamo Tolls" ... can I expect to find additional charges in the next few days for that missed toll or did they just ding us a little bit more than probably the $1.50 we were to have paid???

Probably your full charge. They charge the toll plus daily fee for any rental day when you used a toll. No laws were broken.

We were charged a $25. Admin fee plus the toll but I cannot remember which rental company we were with as it was a couple years ago.

Alamo charges 2.95 a day plus tolls. Apparently your toll was 1.00 and the toll by plate charge was 2.95. Really not bad considering what it could have cost you.

When you're paying by cash you need to bear right at the toll, it almost seems like an exit, so it can be easy to miss if you are distracted.

That's what National charged us about 3 years ago when we missed a toll plaza.

This happened to us on our January 2012 trip, when we too rented from Alamo. The $3.95 charge was all that we were assessed .
