Yet another dining plan question?

How does this work exactly? I mean, let's say we don't get a Snack on day 1. Can we get two Snacks on Day 2 or do you lose it? Also, I noticed that you can turn in 2 Tables for 1 Signature dining. Can you turn in 2 Counters for 1 Table? Do you get a card that removes credits from your Dining Plan?

Any information on how the Dining Plan works from step 1 is most appreciated. (Don't worry about including which restaurants. I found the site on that.)

Thanks!

We used the dining plan in early March. Here is the basics of how it works from our experience. :)

You recieve the following for each NIGHT'S stay.
1 counter service
1 table service
1 snack

NOW... say you have 2 adults and 2 kids...

The meals & snacks are grouped together for your entire party. There is no differential made. So say you order 3 adult meals at counter service for all to share. (you can order all adult meals if the kids can eat that much) You WILL have a counter service left for another day that can be used by ANYONE in your party. It doesn't have a kid label on it.

BUT if you are at a sitdown restaurant the children will need to order child portions. IF, however there is no child appetizer and/or dessert on the menu the child may order those items from the adult menu. :)

OK... so you've shared and you have leftover meals and or snacks. What to do? You can use your counter service extras for breakfast.

You can use every snack in one day or 1 a day and the same principle applies to meals. :)

Odds are you'll be stuffed. We were. My husband is a big eater and he was shocked that he could get stuffed on the plan. It truly is a great bargain. We will never do Disney again without this fantastic meal plan. :)

as far as turning in credits, I know you can trade down ie use a table service credit for a counter service meal. You just would not get the appetizer since there are no appetizers with counter service.

As for tradin 2 counters for 1 table service, you would have to check at Guest Services.

Here's a link that gives as good an explanation as any that I've seen:

You are not able to trade off between table service and counter service meals. The only thing you are able to do is use 2 table service credits for a signature meal. Also the term table service and character meal are used in the same manner.

You can use a table service credit for a counter service meal....I did it !

We were left with 4 table service credits at the end of our stay and inquired at Guest services about using them for counter service breakfast the morning of our departure. The CM told me that would be OK, just check with the Duty Manager. At breakfast, we used the credits to pay for our breakfast.

We did not get an appetizer, obviously, but got the entre and dessert and a drink.

You cannot, however, use counter service credits for table service meals, regardless of how many you want to use.
