YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

That's so exciting that you made it to the 24 hour event after all. I'm really impressed that you lasted that long after working all day! You must have been exhausted. The chicken and waffles look really yummy. Wow some people had some very elaborate costumes! Oh my goodness that cop is making the funniest face in that picture. I really like the pictures in front of the clock, that is so cool!

What beautiful pictures of the sunrise! I can definitely see why you love BLT so much. I think it's a lot higher on my list now thanks to you! Wow that is a lot of soap and shampoo! I agree with whoever said that mousekeeper must have previously worked at Whispering Canyon ;) I still can't get over that the pumpkins were already out in August. Great MK pictures!

I love that you turned your head on SE :lmao: Great idea and made me laugh! I need to remember that for next time.

Thanks for showing the kiss goodnight video! I think I may have seen it in 2008, but can't remember. I need to remedy that.

I think you guys did great at the 24 hour party considering you worked that day:thumbsup2

If I see Barb at MK next time, i'll have to get a picture with her and tell her that she's famous because of you!

Finally caught up! I was more behind than I thought!

Your spaceship earth pictures and commentary were really entertaining! You got a lot of great shots!

I had the avocado rita once and I agree - way too sweet and way too thick. It was more like a smoothy than a rita. The cucumber and jalapeño are excellent and I finally just tried the pineapple - also very good.

School bread was a once and done thing for me too.

Love that you could see the fireworks through the skylights while eating dinner. That's pretty cool!

I really need to stay at BLT and your TRs always remind me of that. Are you doing a TR for your latest visit or just the dining report?

Catching up now - I love the full Rock Your Disney Side update! Looks like the Disneyland event was a lot of fun, and not as crowded as it could have been. Plus, it's amusing to see so many people resting in the Animation building.

Those Bay Lake sunrise pictures are just fantastic - there's something truly special about sunrise and sunset in Disney. :goodvibes Also, Barb sounds like an amazing cast member, and you've made me want to take the DME bus so I can spot her in the video (in all these years, we've never taken the DME to Disney - just taxis and rental cars). :sad2:

Even though I just returned from a few days in Orlando, the Disney blues are already hitting me. I chose not to renew my annual pass, and instead I've started exploring the second most 'magical' place in Orlando (posted about it in the live thread a few days ago). ;) Definitely gonna miss the WDW parks, though!

Great update!! I think we would have a great time at the parks without the guys lol. Hunter doesn't want to do any of the character stuff so I've been nice and not forced it.

What a beautiful sunrise!! Awesome view!

Hey Paula! I agree. The guys may have been just as glad to hang out at ESPN Club. It would have saved us a lot of $ if I didn't get him an AP!

Speaking of characters, Michael should thank me. Considering I didn't make him pose with a single character outside of a few meals.

I love your sunrise view from BLT. That would be the view I would want, too. I love watching sunrises and sunsets while on vacation.

I'm really surprised to see that MK was decorated for Halloween on August 29th. Wasn't that pushing it a bit?

Thanks Sue. I watched from the first light of dawn until the sun had successfully done it's performance rising!

When you think that Halloween was still 2 months away it did seem a bit early or decorations. Maybe they wanted people to get excited about the MNSSHP and entice them to come back.

Gorgeous sunrise, what a great way to start your last full day. I am sooo hoping I can meet Barb on my next trip... she sure seems like a special, special lady.

Thanks Tracy! Barb is like the Main Street ambassador of happiness and joy. She has such enthusiasm for her job.

Beautiful sunrise pictures! It must have been so peaceful sitting out on that balcony, waiting for the day to begin. Can't think of a better way to start your last full Disney day.

It did seem like the MB issues were less frequent now that the roll out has begun. I'm sure by our next trip, it will be even smoother. (Hopefully.:rotfl:)

Hi Alicia! Oh my gosh. I was mesmerized, I couldn't leave. It was just so peaceful.

Other than one issue I had last trip, I agree, they've pretty much resolved most MB issues. They seem to have worked out most of the kinks.

Beautiful sunrise photos!

You had mousekeeper of the year cleaning your room!

Gotta love Barb!

Thanks, it was so nice to start my day with that glorious display.

Seriously, huh! I had little souvenirs to bring home!

Ahhh, watching the sunrise from anywhere in Disney World is so beautiful.

I don't think I've actually spoken with Barb although I've seen her along Main Street quite frequently. Usually dancing or laughing with another guest.

Hi Dave! Sunrises on vacation just seem so much more majestic. As nice as it was....it still doesn't rival your sunrise photo looking out over the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool.

Barb is awesome!

There is nothing better than watching the sunrise in Disney!!!
Great start to your day. Fun, running into Barb. I remember seeing her getting the crowd revved up before a parade one afternoon. She danced her heart out and was so much fun.
We were also in Epcot this afternoon and into the evening.

Thanks for the 24 hour DL intermission!! Looks like fun!!

Hi Linda! A beautiful sunrise and seeing Barb - combined, a great way to start our day! That dancing that she does is a workout. I'd be pooped!

Ahhhh it's fun to track each other's whereabouts.

Thanks. It would probably have been a lot more exciting if we'd participated in more of the special events at the 24 hour party.

Nice start to the day. 13 days of breakfast reservations...WOW! Breakfast's at WDW are great though!

Thanks! Yeah, that was a lot of eating. You can perhaps tell that breakfast is my favorite meal. I have so many favorites.

I can't wait to read more about your Magic Kingdom day!

Barb seems great and I hope next time I am at the park I can meet her!!:)

Hi there Megan! I just saw your PTR and am very jealous that you have not one but two trips to look forward to! Exciting stuff.

Barb is awesome! Don't be shy about saying hello to her.

What a beautiful sunrise. I'd love to stay at BLT one day. Love that you can just walk right over. Cant wait to hear about the fireworks cruise! I've always wanted to do that too!
2016 for the Star Wars marathon for us. See you then! I can't wait to read your review of it if you do register!

Hi Alysa! I actually wrote about our 2nd fireworks cruise that we did in December in my dining report. It's so weird to write about that one before I even got to our first one. I got your updated plans! Sounds great. Yeah.... remember I'm a lazy runner, they would probably kick me off the course because I'd be going so slow and stopping for every picture that I don't keep up with the pace. :p I do look forward to seeing you!

Holy, last full day already???? (Seriously, I'm not joking, I'm genuinely surprised.)

Haha, I still get a kick out of all that SHAMPOO!!!!!!

Ooh an out front Photopass and nobody in behind. That is so rare.

Aww Barb!!!! Wow, 30 years???? I tell you, she pulls that off amazingly. She is truly a perfect example of a CM.

Hey Rob! Yep, fer real! Finally right?

Our hair smelled like grapefruit for a few weeks after our trip. Those shampoos came back home with us. I wouldn't consider this collection quite as abundant as those Illuminations snacks in your bag....

Brenda the first trip is already booked for November for Saratoga Springs for five night. We also gave our daughter and her friend six nights at Kidani for their December trip. Her friend doesn't know yet.

I think VGF are the only ones being sold now

Very nice! What a great surprise that will be.

Ahhh got it. I'm hoping to check the new villas out. Last trip we were told that we could just drop by and ask to tour. Good to know.

I'm pretty impressed by your 8 hours of the 24 hour Rock Your Disney Side. I'm glad it wasn't as busy or crazy as the last one you experienced.

I would really enjoy seeing all of the creative costumes.

I love that Disney cop who was able to spot you for the "troublemaker" you are. Both citations were absolutely well-deserved!

:goodvibes

We were on the Rock your Disney Side light party version. I was glad it wasn't crowded too. Otherwise, I would have packed it in (after the waffles of course) and headed out.

Some people have serious creativity.

I must have had a "look"... My nickname is "trouble" for Michael.

Wow, those colors in that last sunrise shot! A-MAZ-ING!

What did you do with all of the people in your train station photopass shot?

The pictures with Marie are so cute, but not as cute as the ones with Barb! What a treasure! We don't stick around for parades and I don't think I would know who she was if I hadn't read about her on trip reports, but I will be on the lookout next time.

:cool1:

It was soooo nice!

It must have been something we said because all the people disappeared.

Barb also now appears on the Magic Express bus video if you ever book DME. She's gotten a lot of attention around here and I think her popularity is growing. She's going to reach Bo status soon!

Not even close to catching up on your TR, but I enjoyed your last update. What a beautiful sunrise and 43 minutes to watch it sounds wonderful! Love it!

Ahh Barb - I did notice her on the DME video. How wonderful that she thoroughly enjoys each and every day of her job! :thumbsup2

Hi Mary Ellen! So glad to see you catching up. I feel so bad that I need to do the same. I miss seeing all your photos and updates. It's just so darn crazy with my job. Anyway.. excuses, excuses.

And there you've confirmed it! I love the Barb segment on the video. It's great that they showcase her enthusiastic dancing. She definitely shows her Disney Side every day.

Sighhh that is one beautiful sunrise.

I love the kitty pose with Marie! So cute.

I LOVED Barb in the ME video and I'm very surprised it's been 30 years because of how young she looks! Hopefully I get to see her in person sometime.

Hi Courtney! Thanks it was sooo nice.

I love Marie. She was one of our first character poses many years ago so she is a sentimental favorite.

I didn't believe her 30 year milestone until she showed me her ring. She looks fabulous. Darn! I want to do whatever she does to stay so youthful.

I have to pick back up responses later... it's that hour when the Boards go to sleep so I should as well. :)

It may have saved money for Michael to not have a park pass but we would have missed out on some really fun moments if that was the case!! And didn't he pose with you at AK with some characters?

wow, last day already - and what sounds like a full one at that! Starting with a lovely sunrise too!

Wow - that is amazing that Barb is still so enthousiastic about her job after 30 years. I think there are very few people who can feel the same way about their job!

Yeah... I for one, do not break out dancing with my job! I've been with my company 24 years and they don't even get a cabbage patch out of me. Except perhaps when bonus' are handed out.

Yay for me finally getting caught up again lol!!

I do have to say, despite not having great experiences at Tony's food wise, I'd still go back lol! We've always had amazing servers! And Em's dish looks delicioius!!

The sunrise over BLT is beautiful! I'll admit, I had actually thought about waking up to watch it last week, but the comfort of that bed won me over instead :rotfl:

YAY FOR BARB! She is seriously perfect and fantastic! So glad you ran into her!

The 24 hr event looks awesome! We definitely enjoyed a good around 20 hours of Disney that day over in MK, I only wish #1: we had napped longer so we could've stayed out longer into the evening #2: it was planned better! there was SUCH a lull of "nothing" and "wait times too long" between the fireworks and the special stuff coming out (it all started at 2am) that we were wiped and bored!!

I am interested to hear all the details of your 24 hr party and photos. At DL they had a special shows at 3am but in some areas of the parks the wait times were no different than any other Friday. I'm impressed that you lasted as long as you did even with a nap. :thumbsup2

Yes, I teach, AND I'm from the East Coast of Canada, so flights are always long and terribly expensive! :rotfl:

Endless Disney trip planning, and endless trips. I'd go for a day if I could!

Thanks about my DL pics. But speaking of fabulous pictures, those sunrise pictures are beautiful!

Sad it's the last full day and Barb's been at WDW for THIRTY YEARS???? :scared1:

I hear ya! Even a short trip to Disney is a small dose of the magic. :)

I know, 30 years! That's a long time to put smiles on people's faces at MK.

Thanks for including the 24-hour update!!!! I love that you can just decide "hey, I think I'll go to Disney today!". How fun for you! I really the Walt and Mickey statue... I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've seen a picture of it!

Speaking of the 24-hour party... I read a couple recaps of people who started at WDW in the morning, hopped on a plane, and finished the day at DL. My anxiety went into overdrive just thinking about it. Really cool memories I'm sure, but I simply don't have that type of adventurous streak.

LOVE the sunrise photo!

I had read about Barb in someone's trip report before I went on my trip, so I was so excited to see the DME video about her!! What a blessing she is to others and what a blessing for her to be able to do something she obviously loves!

Hi Sue! We're fortunate to live so close so there's not a lot of planning that goes into a 20 minute drive to DL. ;)

Em was following some people on Twitter who did the bi-costal Disney 24 hour party. Conceptually, I like the idea but in reality I don't think it would end up being too fun. I'd rather just pick one and stick with in. That's just me.

That's a great way to describe Barb - she's a blessing. She's Disney personified and I'm sure that is why she has the blue name tag.

Hi friend!!!! :yay: I can't believe it's the last full day on your TR!

Beautiful sunrise pictures. I loved being in the Magic Kingdom on the 24 hour day and see sunrise and dawn. It was absolutely beautiful. Under all other circumstances, ain't no way I'm up that early. :rotfl:

A sticker sash! Awesome. I would love to have her job too. It's people like that who make Disney the special place that it is.

Danielle! I was totally thinking of you during the party - thus my message at midnight! I know you had to be having a ton of fun on the other coast. I can't wait to read about it in your TR!

Yep, sticker sashes. All the kids wanted one once they saw those. :)

Yup… I'm back. And I'm so far behind. But I'm here… and well… I'm wanting to catch up! Fingers crossed! I'm way back on page 99! :scared1:

So much to catch up with on the dream suite tour! Wow. Thanks for all those pictures! It's just divine! :worship:

Love the DLR intermission! One day, I will get out there and stay! :cloud9:Carsland looks like so much fun.

Mmm… Carrot Cake Cookies! You know, I tried that back in March! It was worth every penny and I wish I could get another one RIGHT.NOW.

Okay, I made it to page 121. More reading tomorrow. LOL!

Hi Christen!! I'm so glad to see you back here. What timing, you are back here for our last full day. :flower3:

Ahhhh, what beautiful sunrise pictures!! Seriously amazing!

Looks like a fun morning in the park! Most people (guilty here!), rush past some of those interesting and important features on Main St!

It truly was Julie! I love mornings on vacation.

Heck, mornings at the park mean rushing to get to that first ride so most of what happens on Main Street is incidental to most people. I've been there myself.

Okay, Back to reading! LOL

Ouch to the forgetting the timing of the MSEP for your CRT ressie! I'm sure that they were quite understanding since it probably happens quite a bit. Your room is beautiful!

How sweet that you shared your swag with those little girls! That is the best part of Disney. All that pixie dust rubbing off and people feeling very giving and generous!

Tactical error on my part there! I should have planned better to avoid the detours.

What we don't need could be someone else's treasure. Even if just a simple plastic wand.

It is amazing that you have survived Mission:Space! You are such a Rebel! Do they catch you often on the Star Tours ride???

Nope. Never been the spy but you would think they'd recognize the rebel in me and I'd be the obvious choice!

So exciting (again) about Em being engaged! The ring is really pretty! :goodvibes I hope that he has a good understanding of how important Disney trips are to her! Happy Wive=Happy Life! Wedding planning is ALMOST as much fun as Disney trip planning!

Thanks! They were engaged at DL and are there almost every week so he's already trained in that department.

Love that quote! My hubby has used it a few times. I'm glad he gets it. :lmao:

I'm looking forward to planning with her. I may have to plan a Disney trip right after so there's some consolation for my last kid leaving the nest.

I'm planning on watching Wishes from the Poly in July! pixiedust:
Do it! It is a great perspective! (BTW on your PTR I asked your dates. I think you are earlier in the month. Darn!)

ETWB- Wouldn't it be nice if they would mix it up a little? Have a couple of different stories for Belle to work with? :scratchin Why don't they ask me these things??????
Great idea! They should ask you.

Thanks for the trivia from the KTTK tour! I want to do that someday!
It was a great tour. I would do it again in a few years if Michael wanted to do it.

OOOH!! OOOH!! Tea at the GF! This is on my "Must do" for my July trip!!
Since you'll be there it will be so convenient. I have it booked again as well.
Wasn't there some talk about the tea room being closed and tea at Citricos?? I'll have to research that.

LOL at the fight that you witnessed at the water park! I dunno why people get so jealous…
Right in broad daylight those gals decided to throw down and have a brawl. that poor photopass dude was brave to intervene.

I am jealous that you are so close that you can decide at lunchtime to head over to the 24 hour event. :p
I accept that :p It is pretty convenient. :cool2:

I was JUST about to type out "Is this Barb the same one from the ME Video with Gary? LOL! You answered that question…
Yes! She's famous!

Oh no… I'm out of links in posts! See how well I was able to catch up! Reading on and off all day! (After church that is!)

Wow! You really did get caught up!

It's good to see you here again.

Thanks for the intermission for the 24 hour party. Glad you were able to go.
Love the sunrise over Bay Lake. You are on your last full day...so sad:confused3 this report is almost over:confused3 What to read next?
Another couple of trip reports maybe.

Thanks! I'm glad to share. There will be a lot of WDW TRs with the 24 hour party but not a lot of people here will see the DL version... Not that I had anything really exciting to share.

Ha ha! When this one wraps I'll have at least 2 more TRs. I just need more time in my day to finish this one. But thank you for hanging in there and sticking with this one. :)

Just did another round of catching up! And just in time because I see we're heading towards the end. Good thing I'm graduating soon or I would've missed out on what I assume will be a fabulous conclusion!
Hi Timmy!! Thanks for catching up. If I don't make it over to your PTR before your big event - I wish you all the best with your upcoming graduation and enjoy your grad trip!!

So jealous you got to go on the KTTK! I've always wanted to do that. I wanted to do it for my upcoming trip, but I'm only going to be there for less than a week so it would be more of a hassle and take away from unscheduled time. One day I will do it! To see the backstage area where the parade floats are and the utilidors... OMG, that would be beyond cool!

For shorter trips I definitely wouldn't book a tour that takes half a day, I'd feel like I was giving up too much. If they did an abbreviated version of the tour that just took you right to the backstage areas that would be cool.

Looks like you had a great time at the Rock Your Disney Side event for the short time you were there! I'm surprised Em didn't get dressed up along with her fiance. Too bad. I know if you had planned ahead to go with her, you two would've been rocking your Disney Side BIG TIME. ::yes::
I'm probably more likely to dress up than Em. She's the creative one but I'm the goofy one. I would have loved to have been something zany like the red head pirate wench meets Little Bo Peep from Toy Story.

LOL @ housekeeping and their lifetime supply of shampoos! You'd think Disney would start to run out of that stuff when they leave you that much just asking for a restock.
Wasn't that too funny? They went from one extreme to another.

Lazy River is seriously an oxymoron. As you said, the majority of your time is trying to get in the tube, which is far from a lazy task. Not that I complain, I usually am one of those kids without a tube using up all my energy running around the lazy river, (no shame), but I can also appreciate a nice relaxing ride around so I understand the struggle.
Ha ha!! Yes, definitely an oxymoron!

Oh, Barb. I'm so happy to hear she's made it on the DME video! She's also the CM lady who dances during the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade, right? I've never met Barb in person, but I've heard so many wonderful stories about her. Hope I'll see her at the end of this month when I head on down! :thumbsup2
Barb does sometimes work the parade and you will see her dancing down Main Street!

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip! :mickeyjum

Thanks Timmy! I'm so glad to see you dropping by. Again, I wish you all the best and enjoy your Dis trip!!

Wow. That's some sunrise. I don't blame you for dedicating 43 minutes to that beauty!
Great Photopass pictures! You guys ARE well coordinated with the orange pumpkins, because blue and orange are complimentary colours. ;)
I love Barb, she's so awesome. 30 years? Wow, I never would have guessed!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Yep, 43 minutes well spent.

I'm going to agree with you about the blue and orange colours! (see I spelled Canadian there!)

I know, that's a long time to be working at Disney and to look so youthful.

Hi Brenda, I don't remember when I commented last, so will stay with what I read this morning.

What a great way to spend your last morning. That sunrise is priceless. I like using the last day to visit each park hitting what was missed or need to be done again. Can't wait to read about your day.

As for Barb. I have seen her just never took the time to talk with her. I think she looks to young for working at WDW for 30 years. It just goes to show what working at a job you love can keep you young.

Hi Sandy! No worries.

I adopt your strategy as well. Fill in park time with what you've not had a chance to accomplish yet. In this case, we had a couple parks to visit so it will be a full day.

Doesn't she? I made her show me the ring since I was amazed when she said she'd worked for Disney that long. It is so cool to see someone enjoy their job that much all those years later.

Hi Melissa! I probably had another hour in me for that 24 hour party but my hubby was a little more popped than me. We paced ourselves between dinner and then drinks so we did the party-light version of the event!

The cop was hilarious! Disney style antics at their best. That clock was a popular photo spot since it had a rather long line.

SHAMPOO! I liked that reference to WCC too.

This was the second time that we'd seen the fall decorations go up in late August so you'd think I'd be prepared to see them but nope. I was like, what? Did I just see pumpkins in August?

I love that you turned your head on SE :lmao: Great idea and made me laugh! I need to remember that for next time.

Thanks for showing the kiss goodnight video! I think I may have seen it in 2008, but can't remember. I need to remedy that.

I think you guys did great at the 24 hour party considering you worked that day:thumbsup2

If I see Barb at MK next time, i'll have to get a picture with her and tell her that she's famous because of you!

I don't think I meant to turn my head for that SE photo but it did give me a rather distinguished profile - with my pointy nose!

I think I got my second wind after that cocktail but then relaxing in the Animation Building did us in. Once we sat down and saw people falling asleep it had a ripple effect!

Ha ha! Barb gets all the credit for her larger than life enthusiasm earning her the distinction it has.

Hi Mary Ellen! Glad to see you here and caught up. :)

That's it! You are right - that rita is more like a smoothie. If you like non-blended ritas this probably isn't the drink for you. I love the fruit flavors so the pineapple sounds excellent. I also have the cucumber version on my list to try.

Good question about the TR... I still haven't done my December TR so it is in the queue. I need to get this one wrapped and I think the December one will be more a photo journey rather than TR since I didn't take good notes and I'm too old to remember everything! For now, the dining report at least captures the food part of the trip.

Hi Mr. DDW! I read about your WDW/Dark Side adventures. I'm shocked to see you ditch your Disney side for the US/IoA side. ;) It will be interesting to see if you cave and go back to the most magical place in Orlando!

The sleepy people at the Animation Building found the perfect spot to rest - as long as they didn't get stepped on. The couches were at a premium as you can imagine. I'm glad it wasn't more crowded like a couple years ago. It was insane.

No DME? Ever? Wow, you've been like 50 times! That reminds me of wayyyy back at the beginning of this TR when we were there last August you were our chauffeur for a short drive from GF to YC one night.

It may have saved money for Michael to not have a park pass but we would have missed out on some really fun moments if that was the case!! And didn't he pose with you at AK with some characters?

I agree! Those two together was like Comedy Central unplugged.

You are absolutely correct! You gotta keep me honest here Paula! He followed me to the character landing and posed for two photos!

You clearly already do Brenda. You already do. :goodvibes

You're too sweet. Thank you my friend! :)

Thursday August 29, 2013: Day 14, Part 2

Moving down Main Street we found Alex, forever more known as the most AWESOME photopass photographer ever. This guy is a hoot. If you don’t believe me see this video. (And another blink and you'll miss it video from the next day while I’m at it!)

After Alex was done messing with the family before us he turned his attention to Emily and made sure that he posed her in the most appropriate manner. He had her bow down to the queen!! I should have asked… Queen of what? That could be good or bad right? Em wasn’t particularly thrilled with the pose and made it a point to say that in her kingdom I’d be doing more of the bowing. Insolent! Regardless, it was the funniest 4 minutes of our morning!

Walking on up towards Adventureland we still didn’t agree with what we wanted to do and where we wanted to eat… hang on.. pause for another photopass photographer.

Can we get a smile out of this kid?
Photo0281FourBySix-1.jpg

Since Adventureland wasn’t open during EMH that left Frontierland, TL and FL as choices. We decided to head to FL where we would happened to pass by this little beauty.

DSCN2021.jpg

Along the way the Fairy Godmother was out and I was super excited to see her. We hadn’t posed with her in some time. It was about this time that Em wanted breakfast more than she wanted to pose with characters so she proceeded to Gaston’s Tavern for some breakfast while I met with the Fairy Godmother solo.

DSCN2025.jpg

While I was talking with the FGM she asked if I was a fan of Merida since we were both apparently redheaded Scottish lasses. I replied, “I’m a FGM fan!” She responded perfectly, “May all of your wishes come true my dear.” Eeeee!!

Once I met up with Em at Gaston’s Tavern she had already ordered a cinnamon roll and apple slices so while we were waiting for her food I took some photos around the vicinity.

I gotta say, this was one of the first times in all of our girl trips that both of us ended up being a bit moody at the same time which is never a good combination. I know, I’m shattering some illusions out there that generally are very accurate. Em and I are both easy going and get along very well. We’ve never had a knock down mother daughter fight. In fact, there’s very few times that I’ve had to exercise my parental authority in her teen years and lay down the law. So when we both reached a point where I realized I was only going to frustrate her by pointing my camera at her or her food one more time, I decided that it was best if we had a time out from each other. Em said that this was the morning that we broke up! Ha ha! I told her that we would meet up at the Partners statue in an hour or so. She agreed that was best.

I decided to go find food that wasn’t in FL. But first, I went over to the gift shop and asked when Gaston would be out and about. The CM out front didn’t have a clue and didn't really care. In fact, he just said IDK. Ok… I helped him stay in character by asking – “it depends on how many of the town’s ladies divert his attention on the way here?” Yeah that, he said. Ok… I didn’t think I was going to see Gaston this trip but it was worth a try if he was going to be out soon. Forget the fact that I could have done some self-help by grabbing a times guide.

I walked over to BoG to take some photos and noticed the photopass dude looked familiar. Keith was our photographer for our originally scheduled Grand Marshal parade day. I told him that I remembered him from 2010. Of course he had no clue who I was but he perked up and wanted to spend a few minutes chatting when I mentioned that we'd spent time with Dean this trip and would be getting together that evening with him and his wife. Keith and Dean were good friends while working together. He gave me his card to pass on so he could pick up one of Dean's books. Keith recruited another park guest to take our photo together. That was a hilarious role reversal.

From there I moved on to the Peter Pan ride since stand-by was a short 5 minutes. I had to take advantage of that before the official park open.

Thursday August 29, 2013: Day 14, Part 3

Enough rides and chit chat, I wanted to eat. I went to Liberty Square where Chip and Dale were greeting guests by the Rivers of America Crossing. It was a short wait so I figured I could wait a few more minutes to eat.

I tried to stand in between these little trouble-makers and they kept trying to keep me away from each other. I was finally successful in being a chipmunk sandwich. Chip then escorted me like the fine gentleman that he is to the “exit.” The handler had to remind him to please come back to the other guests that were waiting. He made a dramatic gesture of putting his paw to his head and then fell to the ground and had a chipmunk tantrum! Oh my gosh! HILARIOUS!!!! I told him it was ok, I'd send him a photo of the two of us and I'd be back. You can't make this stuff up!!

Ok, now what to eat. The Prairie Outpost was right there and I recalled that they had some pretty awesome cookies from trips past. I figure if people can eat cupcakes for breakfast I can eat cookies for breakfast. Even healthy still, I selected an oatmeal raisin cookie which was practically healthy if you ask me! Do I ever stop and think that $4 for a single cookie is a bit crazy? Nope, I think I was in a cookie daze.

Excellent breakfast choices!

My selection was this very nutritious oatmeal-raisin cookie.

I sat over at Pecos Bills in the shade and enjoyed eating with just the birds milling around.

It was time to meet Em at the hub by the Partners statue. When I got there she was sitting on a bench waiting, in the hot sun, like a lost little kid. I felt so bad that I didn’t choose a shady spot to meet up. She assured me she hadn’t been waiting long. Apparently, that hour or so apart did us well because our “reunion” was very sweet and filled with hugs and I’m sorry, no I’m sorry, no really, I’m sorry…. Insert tears. That was the one and only time at WDW in all our trips that we had a "break-up" moment.

We went to Adventureland to see some pirates, a creepy mermaid skeleton, and a wench or two since Pirates was zero wait.

Next up, we did another thing that should have been on the official Must Do list – Country Bear Jamboree. This is such a cute show that reminds me of the Darlings on the Andy Griffith Show. I doubt there’s more than 1 person reading who would know what I’m referring to but look it up and you’ll see!

Moving further down the road… err Frontierland. I wanted to pose with the fairies and it was only a 10 minute wait so Em agreed to accompany me to Tinkerbell’s Magical Nook. The a/c was a welcome respite from the heat. The first fairy we posed with was Vidia. I’m not entirely sure who she is since I’ve not seen the movie or kids Dis shows but she caught me saying something about her being the show opener for Tink. Oops! I think I offended her. What do you think from her pose? A little attitude or is that normal?

DSCN2255.jpg

Then it was the main pixie herself that we met up with. Tink was adorable and lovely as always. I was fascinated with the props since I was supposed to be shrunk down to their size. Photopass photos completed we said our good-byes.

A glorious last morning indeed!I could sit there and watch that forever. Of course the sun doesn't exactly cooperate for the forever thing, so I'll settle for an opportunity every morning. :goodvibes

I didn't realize y'all made ADR's every morning, I loooooove eating breakfast out when I'm on vacation, my waist line.... not so much. :rolleyes2 I don't know what it is about being up early that makes me want to eat a huge breakfast, but I do. :confused3
I think that's why I love the breakfast at Crystal Palace and Akershus so much, there's a great combination of healthy and not so healthy choices. :goodvibes

You know I don't think I've ever met Barb, I will have to make sure I look out for her when I'm there next time.

As you know I'm planning my next trip for next May and I'm hoping you'll be able to make it during that time. ::yes:: If you can't that year we need to plan a trip for the following spring together. :goodvibes Just us, we'll book spa appts. and make it a total girls fest. After you planning a wedding I'm sure you'll need the time off to rest and relax.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your beautiful last day. ::yes::

I don't know much about the fairies either but my 4 year granddaughter likes them. They seem like a fun group and more laid back then the princesses. :)

Hi Brenda! I'm all caught up and still loving your TR! Thank you so much for including the pictures and info about the 24-hour event - that must have been so fun! :goodvibes

aw, sad to see that there was a bit of a rough patch with you and Em but glad it only lasted an hour ... plus, you had that great interaction with Chip that might not have happened if you you were solo

and great to get in two classics like Peter Pan and the Country Bears!

an nothing wrong with a cookie for breakfast in Disney - since there are no calories in Disney food - just pixie dust and dreams!

Bahaha, Awesome bowing photo. And Em, you're a good sport.

He must be awesome because on the final wide castle shot, it seems a few folks were turning to look.

Fairy Godmother is on my to do list. I didn't konw they brought out any characters during EMH.

Truth be told, that was a pretty darn mature way to handle the moodies. Take a break. And now that Em has the green light for some solo travel (though occasionally misidentified), it's a perfect solution.

Sounds like the nearby CM needed a break too. Yikes.

OK now I need to do "PhotoPass CM's around the Kingdom."

Country Bears is ALWAYS Must Do!!

Vidia does have attitude, but... um...

Smart of you to recognize when you and Em needed a break from one another. I've always gotten along great with my mom, but I think after 14 days we would have started to irritate each other. I think anybody in general would start pushing buttons after such a long time. :confused3

And it looks like you had a fun time in that hour solo park touring. Chip and Dale are two of best character interactions a guest can have. Love their outfits for that location, too!

I see nothing wrong with your breakfast choice. As you said, it wasn't like you were eating a cupcake. There was zero frosting on your item. And there was oatmeal. Oatmeal's a typical breakfast go-to. :rotfl2::rotfl:
