YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Water parks are great...unless they are crowded. A little bit of the fun gets taken away when you have to wait a really long time in the hot sun to ride a ride or obtain an inner tube for the lazy river. :sad2: However, it sounds like you and Em had a good attitude and made use of the morning for what it was intended for. Relaxing and chilling out.

Oh man, a sidewalk sprayer! That's genius! I wish we had those in the beach parking lots in my town. People are constantly making mad dashes to their vehicles with sandy toes due to the ground being so blazing hot!
Leave it to Disney to think of everything!:goodvibes

I agree with you on the school bread. The cream makes the bread tasty, but it's not the best Disney snack on property.

Welcome back! Enjoyed your BB photos! I went there once back in 2001. I am not a big water park person, most of my Disney friends aren't either. I love the themeing of BB though! Looks like you and Em had a lot of fun. Even though you didn't get on that giant slide I give you props for wanting to try it! That slide scares the bajeezus out of me!

I'm getting caught up here once again... It's been a busy couple of weeks and unfortunately I haven't had any DIS time. I'm not sure if things will get any less busy anytime soon but at least it is a long holiday weekend this weekend for those of us who have Memorial Day off on Monday.

So with that.... let's get back to this. :)

Looks like a great morning at Blizzard Beach. I'm always amazed at how fast you ladies move through the parks. It takes us FOREVER. Of course we do have kids to pull along.

I don't understand some of the food fascinations at Disney either. We tried and not liked Dole Whips, Zebra domes and school bread. :confused3 Maybe my family is just picky!

Well.....I'll say that I move faster traveling with Em than my hubby. I'm reminded that hubbies and kids can be similar! :rotfl2:

I'm with you for the zebra domes and the school bread but the one time I had a Dole Whip I loved it.... it was the pineapple float one so I may have a different opinion if it was just soft serve. I suppose it's good that everyone doesn't love the same things otherwise the Dole Whip line may be as long a wait as the Elsa and Anna M/G!

It's been awhile since we've been to a Disney waterpark, but I don't remember paying for renting towels. Those parks are a lot of fun, though.

I don't get the hype for schoolbread either. To me it seemed like a dinner roll with some cream filling and coconut on top.

Your meal at Tokyo Dining looked really good!

I was impressed with how many people bring their own beach towels or buy them in the gift shop. I would imagine that Disney saw a revenue opportunity with renting towels for folks like me who are too lazy to pack them.

Ha ha! Yes, that's a great description of school bread. I was expecting the "roll" to be much sweeter. It's been awhile since I tried it so my memory may have faded in the last 9 months.

Welcome back. Did your DH like his trip enough to return again? ;)

How do you manage to keep from getting all sunburned when at a water park? You look like you would burn easily? We went to Blizzard Beach once and I think I spent most of the time in the lazy river. I didn't want to wait in long lines for the slides. I burn easily. :sad2:

Maybe...... it depends on how much I bribe him.

Definitely sunscreen is packed in our waterpark bag. Em is very fair too so we have to be careful. I would like to see more umbrellas and shading along the paths where you wait for some of the water slides and rafts.

If we didn't have to run to lunch I think I would have enjoyed more time in the lazy river. We felt a little rushed.

:welcome: back!

I'm excited to see a new update.

Glad you found something you enjoyed at The Wave- can't go wrong with a Mickey waffle!

I enjoyed reading about your visit to Blizzard Beach. Your story about the drama there cracked me up. We like Typhoon Lagoon more- the wave pool is more intense, the tropical theme is more to our liking- but Teamboat Springs really rocks. My favorite family water park ride.

So nice of you to offer your spot in line for Goofy to the family behind you and I love that you still got your photo!

I am very tempted to try out Tokyo dining. Nate loves shrimp tempura and the rest of us love Bento boxes and sushi. The reviews I have read have mostly been positive.

What a fantabulous seat and view!!!

Your revelation about Maelstrom still cracks me up!

I'm with you on the review of the schoolbread. I love anything with coconut and after everyones raves I was excited to try it for the first time. MEH. Like you said, the pastry was dry. It was way too sweet for me.

2 months to DL!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Hi Dee! Looking back, that waterpark drama will stand out more than our Double Dipper run. I hope those gals made up before they had to travel back home together if that's the case.

Sounds like Tokyo Dining will need to make an appearance in your dining rotation sometime!

You will notice that I will always take a photo of the opening in the wall on Malestrom from now on. It will be my little way to commemorate that I'm still astounded that I had no clue.....Look a boat! (I really owe that revelation to Marissa!)

I'm excited about your July plans as well! Seriously excited. :yay:

Welcome back!

Sounds like a great morning at Blizzard Beach! I can never quite get comfortable enough in a lazy river to really enjoy it as much as I want to - I usually end up half-walking. And I've lost a tube or two in my time as well.

LOVE that they have foot-cooler sprinklers! What a great idea

I'm pretty sure you couldn't pay me enough to go on summit plummet, so I certainly don't blame you for not waiting in that line! But Teamboat Springs sounds like a blast.

That was so nice if you to offer your spot in line to the little boy behind you in line! And I'm glad you got you pic too! In a related note, my 3yo said was just looking over my shoulder, "mommy, I saw Goofy!" Clearly, he's a fan

Good job knocking out a couple must-dos off the list - have to make room for new items on a new list - but sorry the school bread and margarita were a bit disappointing:( wel, I guess the school bread was just under-whelming but the margaritas sounded just gross! Oh well!

I completely get the lost tube scenario since they are hard to hold onto when you fall off of them with that current. It takes just a moment to lose your grasp and away they go!

Awwww your son knows Goofy already, how cute!

There's still stuff that I need to get crossed off my Must-Do list...... spoiler alert but I didn't accomplish all of them on this list and at least one is still elusive. It just means that I need to book a return visit I do believe. ;)

Hmmm, is this thing still going on??? (Sorry, I had to).

I've not been to any of the Water Parks, so it's always a treat to hear about it. But OH.. MY... LORD, those rules. Just the fact that these things need to be written out makes be seriously uneasy about ever going. It leads me to believe that these things have happened in the past. That #1 alone is enough to send me back to Everest.

Oh my word, even at a Disney water park a fight breaks out. I like your idea with the glass slipper. In fact, ALL future altercations world wide should be handled this way.

AWWWW see, that's what happens when you're actually polite and giving. SO nice of you to give your spot to the little. And then to be rewarded with a picture yourself. Lovely.

Maelstom.. The wettest ride in Walt Disney World!!

I know huh! My pace is pathetic but I'm glad that you're still hanging in there.

Seriously, I agree! Makes you wonder what occurred to have to spell some of those waterpark rules out. Not sure I want to know.

Thanks! Having Disney-themed conflict resolution would probably bring about lasting world peace so I'd like to see it used more often.

That little boy wanted Goofy more than us so it just seemed right. It would be cool to have Olaf at Blizzard Beach for a meet and greet.... I may not give up my place in line if that character was there.

Whenever I see that Malestrom warning sign I think of you! It IS a water ride for goodness sake.

I'm getting caught up with my subscriptions and I just read through your latest update but I still need to comment. :)

Welcome back! From what I could tell ia Facebook it seems like you had a good time with your hubby. And I'm loving the updates.

I haven't done Blizzard Beach since 1996 but when I did it I had a blast. We haven't done them yet because Olivia has issues with her ears and won't get her head wet. No sense in paying for something we just won't use. Lol

Hi Charlotte! Thanks, it was fun. I think my hubby would say it was fun too!

Awww man! You don't want to risk ear issues on vacation. Since there are a million other things to do rather than go to a water park, there's never a shortage of things to do. At least you have crossed that off your list since you've already done it! I need to mark off Typhoon Lagoon now.

Sending Memorial Day hugs from my military family to your military family!!!

Welcome back!

We have just never made time for either of the water parks, but I guess when you have the benefit of time on a long trip, it makes sense to venture to one of them. Those pool rules are a bit frightening, because...well, not everyone thinks the rules apply to them! I bet if I knew more of what happens in public pools, you couldn't catch me within ten feet of one. :rotfl: So sweet of you to offer up your spot for surfer Goofy and be rewarded! Disney karma at its finest.

That margarita does look good from the picture! Such a shame when you spend so much on a drink or snack that looks SO good and ends up being a disappointment. At least the school bread was okay, even if it wasn't as amazing as some DISers would lead you to believe. I do like coconut, but the custard is not something I think I'd enjoy, so I've never felt the need to try it.

Looking forward to more of this TR, and of course want to read about your December trip next!

Thanks Kristy! I would have to say welcome back to you as well! It was great to meet up with you and your family! :thumbsup2

I agree, if we only knew why they had some of those pool rules. That could be frightening. I am fine being ignorant otherwise I'd probably never step foot in the water.

I think I need to do my Disney drinking with other DISers since I'm sure it would make it more enjoyable. I just didn't see the hype about the avocado margarita but then again, I don't think it was my thing. As for the school bread another Disney snack that just may not be my thing. I love both coconut and custard so if it had more of both maybe it would have been great.

Why thanks Kristy. I have to say that reading Rob's TR is like a preview of what mine may look like. He's got a lot of great stories and photos so I may just need to foot note his TR for December!

I'm so pleased you got to go to BB, it's our very favourite water park, we even have our own touring plan for it :rotfl2:

My tip for the lazy river is to put the ring over your head then get your knees through followed by your feet - no danger of missing the tube then :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Your afternoon sounded lovely and I'm glad you managed to tick some things off your must do list even if they weren't that great!

Hi Jo! BB is so brilliantly themed! Have you or your family done Summit Plummet? I imagine the water wedgie would be something worth remembering. ;)

Great tube advice. Confirms the fact that you were a great choice for the Mom's Panel!!

It was nice to cross things off the Must-Do list. I can at least say that I've done them/tried them.

Welcome back Brenda!
Can't wait hear more about your trip but it sounds like you will be starting the December TR first :-)
What a lovely morning at BB. We've only ever been to Typhoon Lagoon but had a great time there. We may give a water park a go next trip, not sure yet
How sweet of you to offer up you spot the meet Goofy to the other family :-)
Yummy, Tokyo Dining is always a winner
Try the cucumber margarita next time, it's nowhere near so sweet and super refreshing

Thanks Linda! And thank you again for your generous gift of the sparkling wine. So very nice of you.

Speaking of TRs I could try a concurrent report but if this one is any indicator of how successful that would be it wouldn't work out so well. I need to focus on the lovely folks that we traveled with in December - looking at you!

I have been a long time fan of Tokyo Dining so I'm glad that we were able to move our reservation back and still make it.

I think of you when I see the cucumber margarita. If it is lighter and refreshing I would probably like it much better.

Welcome back!!
I like the idea of bus roulette!!! Especially when indifferent about the water parks... I had to laugh though at your second guessing! I feel like that would be me!

I had school bread on my to do list for he last trip... But like Em, I'm not a coconut fan... So I skipped it!

Great updates!

Yes, bus roulette worked for us but not without second guessing our decision. I can almost talk myself out of anything.

If you don't like coconut then it's not a good idea to have that on your list. The good news is Kringla Og has a lot of other good looking choices. (Although, don't fall for the lefsa!)

Thanks Amy!

Welcome back Brenda, and glad you enjoyed som quality time with your husband. Nothing against Em, but why should she get all the fun? ;)

We prefer Blizzard Beach so you won Disney Bus Roulette in my eyes. Just like the theming and slides more - though the wave pool at Typhoons Lagoon.

That was gutsy to ride Maelstrom sans poncho!

Thanks Phil! Ha ha! We definitely had some quality (and quantity) time together so it was very nice. I had to book a trip with Em as penance for not taking her this time. :)

Hey, glad we chose the clear winner of the two water parks. Even if we didn't do Summit Plummet it was fun.

We live on the edge that way. Amazingly, we avoided getting soaked. I know, you don't hear that too often! ;)

Great report of your time at Blizzard Beach! I feel like you don't hear much about the waterparks in TRs! But OMG to the girl fight -- eek!!

Full day already! Glad you got to check a few things off your to-do list! :)

Hi Julie! I was hoping to read more about the waterparks in TRs so we wouldn't have to rely on bus roulette! I can understand where it's hard to break away from the parks to get to these. The girl drama was an interesting little side show. Makes you wonder who the young man was that generated so much anger! :rotfl:

so glad that you're back from your trip! Hope you had a great time!!!

I love that you checked out the water park. We are doing both on our trip.... Audrey's request.... can't say no to an 8 year old right

Thanks Raina! It was very nice thank you.

Awwww of course you can't say no. :goodvibes They have some kid friendly areas at both water parks I believe. It will be very refreshing during the heat of summer. Have fun!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Um, yeah, wasn't sure quite how to express my concern over the "rules" at Blizzard Beach but alas! Rob has done so for me!!! :rotfl:

Glad to hear that you crossed some "must dos" off your list... Just sorry they didn't live up to the hype! I've had mostly yummy but sometimes dry school bread so maybe you got a rare dud? :confused3 at any rate, :thumbsup2 for tackling your list. The avocado margarita sure looks pretty though! As does it's holder ;)

Ha ha! I know what you mean. Those rules definitely caught my attention... I had to do my civic duty and share here in the interest of public safety and all. ;) Glad Rob was able to articulate so well his concerns.

That hibiscus salt on the avocado margarita makes it look so pretty doesn't it? It could be one of those things that two years from now I try and love it - who knows but that day it wasn't for me. And thank for the compliment if you are saying I have nice hands! :lmao: Seriously, thanks. You're sweet.

Awe man! I've somehow misses so many updates!!!

Lovely KTTK reviews!! How weird that you weren't allowed any cameras at all, that's odd!! AND AS IF YOU GOT TO SEE BTY IN REHEARSALS!!!! We saw hoedown going out into Frontierland but nothing else back there aside from empty floats!! UGH! lol

Tea looks lovely, it's something I'll have to check out one of these days!

Same with the waterparks! I'm thinking that will get done when I'm living down there lol! I'm not huge into waterparks, but they're fun enough!

I have to agree in not really liking the school bread,….maybe it's all the Tim Hortan's up here, but I wasn't a fan! The avacado margarita though!??! SO YUMMY!!

Hi Katt! I hope you are recovered from your 24 hour partying! I was messaging Danielle but I haven't been on the Boards lately to even keep up so I would have sent you a note as well if I knew you were together! It sounds like you did far better than us at hanging in there - 18 hrs! Wow!! You win for sure.

Loved your phantom writing skills! So....yeah, so odd about the cameras. Seems like there would be the same rules for all tours but I guess not. Of course we had the guide that was overkill on the rules. Wasn't that awesome timing to see the BTY rehearsal which was great timing. Go in August and you may luck out!

Tea and waterparks were on my list.... below riding the ferry so maybe by the time you are settled in you'll have some time to do a few things. I have to get caught up since I want to know if you'll be there when we head there next time.

Ahhh so you ARE an avocado margarita fan. I'll trade you one afternoon tea for the margarita. :p I'll find "my" margarita yet. School bread needs to be purchased fresh, I've already made that mental note in case there's a next time.

Take care!

GREAT update and loved the BB pics! I can't believe we purchased the PAP and will probably not make it to either of the water parks. :sad2:

Thanks Bill!

That's ok, I'm sure Disney shareholders everywhere still thank you for your PAP purchase!! :beach: Does the PAP include DisneyQuest as well? I would say you wouldn't be missing anything if you didn't have that one crossed off your list.

Welcome back from your trip, Brenda!

You know, for the longest time not having been to BB whenever I saw the picture of the Summit Plummet I really thought that the ornamental slide was the real deal and people flew off it into a pool below. Of course now I know that the Disney lawyers would never have green lit such a slide. :lmao:

The pool rules picture you took made me chuckle knowing that all of those rules are in place to prevent practically one single organism/infection which is also the reason I get extra grossed out when I see those signs by the pools. Somedays I wish I had picked a different subspecialty than infectious diseases. :sad2:

Hi Dave, thanks! I had to chuckle at your comment because that's what it does look like! That would be a wild ride!

Oh my, you would know what trouble those little organisms can cause! Your experience and knowledge must make you a little more uncomfortable seeing those rules... I just wonder who would be so thirsty as to break rule #4!

Glad you had such a great trip!

OH BOY at those rules. You'd think those would be obvious, but I guess not if a sign has to go up :confused3

OOF you hate to see fights at Disney.

Aww, that was too sweet of you to give up your spot in the Goofy line, and you got to get your picture taken anyway! Disney magic!

I love the China movie but my parents don't like CircleVision so we haven't done it in a while.

I'm with ya on school bread. It's pretty good but there are a lot of Disney snacks I prefer.

Hi Courtney! I hope all is well, I need to get caught up!

Thank you, it was nice to get away with my DH.

Yeah, the rules are a little scary but they need to add one more - no physical altercations please! Come on ladies it is a family friendly park so behave!

I love Circle-vision but it can make you a bit dizzy.

I need to add more snacks to my must-try list but currently I'm stuck on the salted caramel brownie at Karamel Kuche when in Epcot. Blows the school bread out of the water in my opinion.

I've never heard or seen the sprinkers spraying the walkways. Such a great idea. Good job Disney!

Lazy river? More like crazy river!

Very sweet of you guys to let the little boy ahead of you. And that's really nice of the CM to still let you take a pic with Goofy.

I really enjoyed the school bread (even though I'm not a fan of coconut - at least the texture) but for some reason I really liked this!

Oh no! I can't believe that margarita wasn't good. Especially at that price, I would have downed it. That's too bad. I had heard rave reviews for that too...hmm, perhaps I won't try it next time.

Ha ha, yes crazy river! :thumbsup2 Disney does a great job coming up with practical ideas so those walkway sprinklers are so perfect. Now if they will come up with a locker option that has a build in cooler to keep your drinks cold while you are in the water that would be great. :)

I won't fight you for the school bread but if there's only one caramel salted caramel brownie left at Karamel Kuche let's just hope there's not a snack thunderdome because I would be in there! :rotfl2: (You're too sweet, I couldn't do that.)

No, go try the avocado margarita and let us know what you think! It's just not to my tastes.

Wow Brenda! It sounds like y'all are having the best time on this trip!

KTTW tour, the water park (you are so brave), great dining experiences, and some not so great. I'm seriously in love with the GF tea, it's so beautiful in there and so peaceful, I can't wait to surprise Tyler with going.

I think I'll skip the water park this time, I've never been a big fan. :sad2: I'd love to do KTTW tour but I don't want the magic to be taken away. :wizard: As much as I would love everything else I don't think I'd be okay with seeing people in costumes without heads. I don't think my heart could take it.

We'll more than likely do some tours, haven't settled on which one's just yet, but I love hearing about all the experiences you've had. :thumbsup2 Ty and I are looking at the Wild Africa Trek so far. :)

Hi Camille my friend!!

Reading your summary, this does sound like a fun trip! Although I will collect my bravery badge once I actually go down Summit Plummet! Water parks are fun but I've never gone out of my way to don a bathing suit and take a dip.

Wild Africa Trek would be awesome! I'd love to have lunch out on the safari and have that backstage perspective. I can't figure out which Tyler would like better, the tea or the AK tour!

Yes Brenda please message the photos to me. I am actually doing a trip report and a dining report from our adventures last week. I can't wait to go back in December and am torn on staying at the AKL CL, BWI CL, or the BC CL. Decisions to be made. Also enjoyed the water park review. I have only been to BB once and we really liked it.

Done! You looked great and I loved seeing you all aglow with your pregnancy! Now I need to go subscribe to your reports.

Oh man, those are tough choices for December. There's so much going on at Epcot during the holidays that I'd be tempted to stay at an Epcot resort. You can't go wrong with any of those.

Brenda I am proud to say I have finally caught up on your TR!!! I have also reading your dining links and I have really been enjoying both! We've never done the water parks either so that was quite a learning experience and I loved that you let the little one get their picture with surfing Goofy, so sweet! Loved, loved , loved the Cinderella suite tours and definitely surface put the TKK tour on my to do list! I have 4 i D's so it'll be a while before they are of age but still gotta work it in somehow! I just want to thank you for brightening my day and giving me an awesome Disney fix loving it!
- Kim

Sent from my Nexus 7 using DISBoards

Hi Kim! I'm glad you are joining in here. Thanks for reading through both reviews. Food balances everything Disney for me so I have to do Dining Reviews as well! :rotfl2:

There's a lot to look forward to when your DDs are a little older but enjoying Disney through their young eyes makes such great memories in the meantime. :)

Thanks for your sweet comments. :goodvibes

Hey Brenda....could you give me a timeline on the Keys to the Kingdom tour? We will be celebrating my DD's 16th birthday in March and she wants to take the tour. I know it's 5hrs and that is sort of my problem....I can't walk/stand for 5 straight hours without a break or two. The arthritic joints will protest.

Thanks!

Hi there dancing! Certainly. The tour has some rest period and some places to grab a seat but there is a lot of standing and walking. The first "break" is about 20-30 minutes into the tour, then walking up Main Street we didn't break for another 30 minutes or so before we took some seats again. Factor in lunch (about 30 minutes) and the rides (another 30 minutes or so) and it is still a lot of standing and walking. However, the most standing without a break was the utilidoors underground. I'd say we were down there about 45 minutes or so and didn't take a break until the tour ended. I'm sure they accommodate scooters and wheelchairs if you contact the guest services department.

I hope that helps!

After a whirlwind following of the links (and skipping all the commentary.) I have caught back up on your adventures. It is amazing how many times, so far, we were in the same place at the same time and never bumped into one another!

Sorry your tour guide didn't allow photos. Ours had no problem with them on stage. Though my dousing on Pirates would have been less of a problem had my camera been put away for safe keeping. ;)

I have not done the boat tour in the MK in a long time. I hardly remember the sets along the ride, though I do remember the tee pees. Thanks for the photos.

It's just too, too bad that you didn't get to experience the roaring enema that ends Summit Plummet! You just don't know what colon cleanse you missed out on! :scared:

Now that I am all caught up again, and the craziness of the near end of the school year and all the :dance3:, maybe I can stay caught up.

Hi Linda! I remember comparing notes thinking we'd end up at the same place at the same time. Darn!

I'm sure different guides have different camera policies. I happened to have one that was a 'by the rules' kinda gal. I remember your camera fiasco!

Speaking of the boat tour, I went back last trip and thought I'd be so smart and show my DH the Wilson's Cave set but I had forgotten which side of the boat it was on until it was too late. Oops! Now I'll remember next time - it's on the island side.

After your Summit Plummet description I'm going to say that I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anything!!! Yikes! :upsidedow

Thanks for hanging in there and getting caught up. :goodvibes

I'm all caught up. Welcome back! I hope you had a great trip, we really enjoyed spending time with you and your DH!

Hi Melissa! I'm so glad that you had a great trip AND we were able to meet up! It was awesome to meet you, Daniel and sweet Gavin. I need to message some photos to you!

Alright, That's on the list now!

:thumbsup2 Glad I could help!

Welcome back, Brenda!!!! It's very comforting to know that we still have lots of trip reports coming up after this one is done!!

Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing a whole of males at afternoon tea!

Thank you... what a sweet thing to say! :goodvibes

Glad you had fun at Blizzard Beach!! I've never been to either one, but would probably choose BB just for the theming since I love the cold and snow. I'm :rotfl: at those pool rules. Gag.

Fighting at a water park in Disney. *sigh*

I liked the school bread more than I thought I would, because I'm also not a coconut fan. But I loved the custard inside!

Hi Sue, thanks!

Ha ha! I think you're saying, 'come on, get on with the next TR already!' :lmao:

Living where you do I think BB feels more like home in the winter! Good thing you love the cold and snow seeing as how you probably get more than a few inches a year.

More custard inside the school bread may have influenced my opinion in a more favorable light. Like I've said about Dole Whips, if everyone liked them the lines would be crazy. Same for school bread, I don't mind giving up my place in line for a fan! :)

Looks like good times at BB.
The margarita looked good. Too bad you didn’t enjoy it.
All caught up again..

Good times for sure! Glad we tried a waterpark.

If the margarita wasn't so sweet I'm sure I would have liked it better. I should stick with the rum drinks - I do love pina colavas. (I know, it's sweet, go figure!)

Thanks Scott, glad you are still hanging in here. I need to get caught up with yours.

Hi Jo! BB is so brilliantly themed! Have you or your family done Summit Plummet? I imagine the water wedgie would be something worth remembering. ;)
No, we're all wimps :rotfl2: I did a vertical water slide at Wet and Wild as a kid and I'm still haunted by that wedgie :rotfl:

Great tube advice. Confirms the fact that you were a great choice for the Mom's Panel!!
Awwww thanks :goodvibes

Brenda, I feel like I've not bee on the DIS in two weeks...between work and trying to get organized for my trip.

I enjoyed your photos at Blizzard Beach (especially since the little girls decided they wanted to go there rather than Typhoon Lagoon). You girls are rocking your suits!

That's the only thing I hate about the Lazy River...trying to find a tube. I won't be doing any of the slides...I'll be the official photographer.

How nice of you to offer to let the family see Goofy and you'd skip it.

I have yet to see them bring in the stuff for Illuminations. One of these days I'll catch it.

I was on your description of being able to see "outside" on Maelstrom. Poop on Emily for being so mature. :lmao:

I was not a fan of the School Bread either. I don't like coconut either, and Mark thought it was almost as gross as the grapefruit cake at Brown Derby.

Hi Kathy! I know you are getting ready to head back to WDW in days! I'm glad you are caught up. I will be able to say the same shortly! I think it's been 2 weeks absent from the DISboards for me as well. Yikes. I hate being so far behind.

Glad the girls chose BB for the water park - it was fun. If they go down Summit Plummet I need to shake their hands! I agree, finding the tubes is the toughest part of the lazy river. You almost have to stand on the stairs and ask everyone going by, 'done with that yet?'

Ha ha! Yes, Em needs to be less mature when it comes to some things Disney. I mean this in the best way possible, she could learn a lot from hanging out with Mark! ;) He knows how to have fun AND rock a cool hat!

Oh no! Never tried the grapefruit cake but I imagine a bitter sweet taste so I'm not anxious to try that. I don't imagine I'm missing much with that one.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Went through and read your whole TR to date and am really enjoying it!

Blizzard Beach looks like fun! I just think it's awesome that they made a waterpark with a snow/winter theme.

Hi Sereina! Thank you for joining and reading the entire TR! ::yes::

Who would have thought a snow theme would have made for a great water park? Disney did a great job - especially with the ski lift that takes you to the top where the big slides are located. Brilliant!!

Thanks again for reading. I'm so glad you are here.

I LOVE reading your trip reports Brenda! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into writing them. They just make my day.

Hi Jackie and THANK YOU for reading. I'm sure my DIS report card would get an unsatisfactory in effort about now but I'm planning to update so stay tuned. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for joining and your kind words.

AND.... welcome to the DISboards!

Hi! :wave2: Late to the party, but I just had to stop and comment as I'm halfway through your report. You and Emily are such a wonderful mother/daughter duo! You have a special bond - so fabulous!!!! :goodvibes

Congrats to Emily too - I hope we may hear some wedding planning gossip in the future as well (I'm an event planner - I eat, sleep, and breathe parties!!!! :cool1: ).

Off to read some more ...

Hi Danielle and thank you for letting me know that you are here and reading!! :) What sweet comments, thank you. I love that kid and I enjoy being her mom so these Disney trips are what we both like to do together.

Oh my gosh, you know all the effort it takes to plan a wedding with your vocation. What a great job you have!!! I'd love to have time to plan more but then I realize that it's not me getting married it's her so I have to defer to her preferences which run to the less traditional and more hip and trendy! Whatever that actually means I'm not sure. :lmao:

Thanks again for joining. I peeked at your PTR and your kids are cute. (ok, now I've actually subscribed since I went back and read the entire thing!)

BB looked like a ton of fun and that's a killer pic of you and Emmy there in your suits! I've never been and it does look like fun.

Huge bummer that both the school bread and avacado rita failed to live up to the hype but good you can cross it off the list.

Uhhh you will notice that I cropped the photo, I'm not bikini worthy like you so I have to have some edits here!! It was a fun few hours.

My next margarita to try is the avocado version. We'll see how picky I am after trying that. Since there's no shortage of snacks and cocktails at Disney I shouldn't have trouble filing in those blanks on my must-try list.

Oh my goodness Brenda, I think I'm all caught up!! So nice to see your smiling face in all those photos. You are the sweetest woman on the Disboards I think.
So glad I follow you on facebook too, because I get little sneak peaks of the next trip report! Missed you my friend!

Alysa! I'm so glad to see you here and you have a new PTR I see. (Your video made me cry once again.... love the photos, love the music, love the passion that you pour into your life and that of your family, you are awesome!)

You are too sweet my friend. I've missed you too. I'm so glad to hear of the wonderful changes in your life and be able to follow along for your newest PTR.

I'm back!! You're Back! And already posting! WAY ahead of me!!

I also did Bus Roulette when I did the solo trip last spring. Also ended up at BB. The crowds weren't bad when I was there though. The longest wait I had was for the chicken summit plummit... yeah.. I wasn't willing to do the full thing! and then its over in like 15 seconds! I used to LOVE water parks as a kid but I grew up going to Noah's Ark which is HUGE! Seriously WAY bigger than BB. I would like to try Typhoon Lagoon one day but Hunter only has the regular AP so no access unless I buy him a ticket...

Hi Paula! By now you may be farther along than me if you've posted anything about our April/May trip. I still need to upload to PB all my photos.

You did Summit Plummet? They have a chicken version?? You did far better than us if you went down that. Michael wasn't too bummed that we didn't make it to a water park but I'd love to check out TL next time. (The boat thing probably has more regrets!)

I'm just glad that even if we didn't do a water park we did Splash with you guys - same thing right? You WILL get wet! :lmao:

Hi Brenda! Glad to have you back!

How fun that you tried out a water park!!! Someday we will do that, I suppose.

Awww - that was so sweet of y’all to let the family with the kids take your spot in the Goofy line. And karma comes back with Goofy staying to meet you anyway! Nice!!!

What a great Epcot afternoon! I’m so glad you posted about the avocado margarita - I always want to order it, but I’m afraid it will taste like banana (there are some preparations of avocado that seem to taste like banana :confused3). Knowing that it is sweet makes the decision easy - I won’t be bothering with that one!

Hi Roni! Thank you, glad to be back!

There's just so much to do that it's hard to fit in one more thing with the water parks. If I remember correctly, Willow is a little bit of a water baby - she'd love the waterparks.

The character handler deserves the thanks for being kind enough to let us still get a photo op. :)

The avocado margarita wasn't at all what I expected so that could have been my problem. However, it was too sweet for me. I'll try something else next time.

I need to get caught up with your reports. :thumbsup2

Welcome back, Brenda!

I've never been to Blizzard Beach! I would like to some day, I've only been to Typhoon Lagoon where I learned that I'm not a big water park fan. :rotfl: yikes those rules! Sincerely hope each was obeyed by everyone. To the letter.
Sounds like a fun time at BB! Glad your kindness allowed you both and another family to meet Goofy! He's adorable.
I want to try school bread to say I did, but I'm not a coconut fan either. Maybe I'll get DH to try one and I'll have a taste of the cream... Lol
Too bad about the avocado margarita!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hi Wendy! Keep BB on your one-day list. It may feel like home with the wintery scenery!

I'm with you, I hope everyone obeyed those rules as well although I'm less concerned with anyone who actually drinks the water unless they then break rule #5.

Oh that's a plan, get Johnny to get the school bread and take a bite. Less risk with that idea.

Hi Alicia! I hope you enjoyed your latest Disney trip. I saw some photos on FB. Good times!

The waterparks need more umbrellas and shade - it's brutal in summer. That's my one request....and add an inner tube distribution center for the lazy river. Ok, two things. Three if you add the lockers with build in coolers.

I hear ya for those blazing hot blacktops at the beach in summer. No matter how tempting it is to walk barefoot to my car, I don't want my feet melting into the pavement! I agree, Disney's innovation should be borrowed by having those foot sprinklers in more places.

Hi Katie! Thank you! I wish I'd taken more BB photos but my camera was put away most of our time there for obvious reasons.... we were in bathing suits. :lmao: I can say that we went but I'm not really a waterpark person either other than curiosity about how Disney did with the theming. Splash Mtn isn't on my must-do list if that tells you anything.

Sending Memorial Day hugs from my military family to your military family!!!

Thank you Sue! Have a great day! :goodvibes

Wednesday August 28, 2013: Day 13, Part 3

Moving on to Future World…after Ellen’s Universe of Energy had shut down after the pre-show the other day we were back to try it again. My favorite part is the trek back in time to see the dinosaurs. Not to be confused with the Dinosaur ride at AK which has Dr. Seeker exploiting the journey back in time to the Cretaceous period so we can perform his misguided bidding. (That’s my take on it!) My second favorite part, 45 minutes of a/c relaxation!

Stupid Judy .... did Jamie Lee Curtis have a Disney connection before Freaky Friday??
DSCN1588.jpg

Heading towards the exit we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to tour the slow moving journey into the past on SE.

Let’s build our future… “Where are you from?” Ireland sounds good. I never pick our real hometown since I like to see my face fly across the ocean and settle in the UK or Gobi desert.

Blurry photo of my "home"... it would be my ancestral home just not my current place of residence!
DSCN1613.jpg

Cave people: Antler man encourages folks to write on the walls – much different than in my house!
DSCN1617.jpg

Egypt: Similar to modern society, parents in Egypt had to help their kids with homework and it wasn’t fun then either.

DSCN1623.jpg

Greece: "See? Nothing up my sleeve."
DSCN1633.jpg

Rome: "I hear we are getting new uniforms, no more dresses."

DSCN1636.jpg

Phonecians?: The vibe in the room is completely different now that we installed these groovy disco lights.

Renaissance painting: The renaissance fruit period. What’s up with the skulls?

DSCN1656.jpg

Sculpture: "Don’t worry! I’m not going to make your butt look big."

DSCN1657.jpg

And then before long we were in the bill geo dome thingy. And there was Earth staring back at us. This felt a little like Mission Space after you do the sling shot around the moon.

DSCN1685.jpg

When we were invited to build our future I believe we chose work. That may explain our schedule that included a meeting, another meeting, a BIG meeting, and then a party. And might I point out the very realistic scene of us eating cereal together.

Our photo before we "flew" home over the Atlantic.

DSCN1713.jpg

It was around 7pm when we left Epcot. We had moved our Tony’s ADR from 7:45pm to 8:40pm since we wouldn’t be hungry so soon after having a late lunch and snacks.

We took the monorail back to CR/BLT. The sun was setting beyond MK so I took a few photos.

DSCN1753.jpg

DSCN1750.jpg

Back in the room I discovered that the note I left for mousekeeping to please restock our shampoo/conditioner had been acknowledged….I think we were good for awhile.

DSCN1759.jpg

We had rebooked our dinner reservation later in the evening since we had a late lunch and even later snacks. Our plans for the evening included dinner at Tony’s at MK at 8:40pm. After some relaxation in the room we walked over to MK for dinner.

My dinner review is found here but it is worthwhile to post a photo of our favorite Tony’s waiter here for good measure, to drool over, to be jealous… whichever!

DSCN1779.jpg
Note to Foodrocksluver: I hope you enjoyed a visit with Mark on your Disneymoon!!! wink, wink

Wishes started during dinner so we had a unique perspective that we’d not seen before… fireworks through the skylight ceiling.
DSCN1811.jpg

We took some time to hang out on Main Street for some fall decorations following dinner. I was over by the flag pole when Em summoned me and said the castle good-night show was starting. It was so magical to stand there on Main Street and watch the castle bid everyone good-night. You could see people paused on their way out so they could view this spectacular event of the day. Here's my attempt to video this occurrence.

DSCN1862.jpg

We took the hint that we should leave but I did note that they wanted us to return according to this sign.
DSCN1868.jpg

We walked back to BLT and called it a night.

That's a wrap for Day 13!

Continued Next Post....

Intermission Post - Disney's 24 Hour Party - Rock Your Disney Side 24 Hour Party Part 1. (And no, we didn't party for the entire 24 hours.)

Thanks for posting the video of the castle goodnight show. I have never seen it before.

We've eaten lunch at Tony's once and I thought the cannelloni was delicious. I think we might try it again on our night trip. :)

Actually just started on my report today!!

I've always wanted to see the Kiss Goodnight and haven't watched your video because I want to be surprised if we ever catch it...

This report is getting close to the end!!!

I loved watching your video and hope to experience it in person soon. Do they hurry you along after it's over?

Great update!

A great attraction including Ellen, Bill Nye, Stupid Judy and Dinosaurs

What is "Universe of Energy"?

Love it. The pictures you took were really good!

You're commentary on SE cracked me up!

"set for life"

:rotfl2:

Pun intended?

Gorgeous sunset shot of the MK Castle :cloud9:

Everybody- I mean Everything- looked great at Tony's. Had reservations there once, but we canceled because Nate was not feeling well. We haven't tried again.

I love scampi and Emmy's meal looked like a really good one. Nice call on the oil on the side.

The kiss goodnight video was nice, but I really like that picture of the castle with Main Street at the end of the night.

your commentary for SE had me chuckling .. who knew the Phoenicians also invented the disco ball?!?!?! Ain't no party like a Phoenician party 'cause a Phoenician party don't stop!

Thanks for posting the video of the Kiss Goodnight - love touches like that at Disney!

Looks like you and Em had a great time at BB, despite the girlfriend throwdown. I agree with you, all future conflicts should be resolved with a glass slipper. ;)

Sorry the school bread and avocado margarita were less than memorable. I'm also not a fan of the avocado marg, but have never tried the school bread. I have to admit it's not a snack that has ever called to me. I love the Cloudberry or Troll Horn and I'd like to try either the Verdens Beste or the Rullekake next time. They both sound interesting. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the video of the goodnight show, we've never seen it. :goodvibes

Hi Brenda! Hope you're all doing really well. After a busy few months, I had to stop by the TR board to check on this thread, and to comment on the last few updates.

-Yay, you went to Blizzard Beach! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you didn't get to experience Summit Plummet, though. It's my favorite water park attraction, but I'll only ride it if it doesn't have a line (such as right after park opening).

-Sorry you didn't love school bread. I'm an odd duck when it comes to that snack - I really like the cardamom flavor of the pastry (and don't mind the dryness), but the custard isn't my favorite. Overall, I like school bread, but my favorite item at Kringla is definitely the rice cream.

-Still haven't made it to Tony's yet (although I did try another one of your recommendations on my most recent trip - WCC breakfast). That view of Wishes through the restaurant is pretty neat. :) Another must-do at MK: seeing the Kiss Goodnight!

Great updates, as usual. :goodvibes

Ha ha! I think you're saying, 'come on, get on with the next TR already!' :lmao:

Living where you do I think BB feels more like home in the winter! Good thing you love the cold and snow seeing as how you probably get more than a few inches a year.

Haha, no... quite the opposite! Take your time... I can live vicariously through everyone!!!

Yeah, we got LOTS of snow this year. And I'm the only one who was happy about it!!! I saw a picture on Pinterest that showed a map of most of the country covered in snow and the caption read something like "This winter has been brought to you by Frozen".

Your comments on the Spaceship Earth photos are hilarious! Thank you for sharing the video! So cool :)

What's this... an update??? YAY!!!! Ah heck I'm just gonna break out this guy... :dancer:

I will say that the "Ellen ride" is impressive in its scope. It just seems so grand, and I do enjoy the dino bit as well. Animatronic Ellen still terrifies me though.

OMG your SE commentary! :rotfl2: Bang on, on all fronts.

Hmmm, I wonder if your Mousekeeper once worked at Whispering Canyon. :scratchin SHAMPOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KISS GOODNIGHT!!!!!! I am so jeaolous right now. Absolutely beautiful.

I've never managed to ride the Ellen Ride (well since I was little when it wasn't Ellen) as it's always been shut so I'm hoping it'll be open on my next trip as 45 mins of a/c sounds great :)

I love that you got to see the Kiss Goodnight, that's on my daughters wish list too!
