:yay: Haha! Yeah, I'm addicted too!

I won't be able to post for a few days as I'm heading to Alabama in the morning. Yep, ya heard me right, Alambama. While I was in Florida, my grandfather decided he was driving himselft to his reunion in Alabama! Well, he is too old and has had several strokes so that is one major problem with him driving. The next is, he got the dates confused and arrived one week early and ran out of meds (today was his last day)! He had a driver lined up but when he didn't show up (cuz it was too early) he got upset and drove himself. :scared1: I can't believe he made is down there! The can barely walk! So, long story short, I'm flying down there in the morning and driving him back. He's in big trouble for taking off like that!

So I'll "see" you all when I get back!

:yay: Hey, Lisa!!!! OMG, it seems like we were just doing your countdown, and you're back already!!!! I can't wait to hear more about your trip!

CR looks gorgeous!!! The rooms are so cool!!!

Ooooh, sorry you got sick...that stinks! Glad that DH's kidney stones stayed at bay! You won't believe what I've been dealing with for the last several days.....a kidney stone! Ugh! I may have to go for a CAT scan today....and it's our anniversary today....this really stinks!

Can't wait to hear more about your trip and see pics!

Great report:thumbsup2 DH and I will be doing the "no kids" trip in only 12 days :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have fun in Alabama with grandpa.

Have a safe trip!:goodvibes

Thank you! We did have a safe trip!

How's your kidney stone? OMG! That's not fun! Monday my DH goes into the hospital for his surgery. He's been feeling pretty good. Some days are more painful than others though.

Yes, it does stink to be sick in WDW! I can't believe I got sick! Our last full day, I pretty much had a fever all day! It was terrible but I just tried to suck it up as best as I could!

Great report:thumbsup2 DH and I will be doing the "no kids" trip in only 12 days :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Good for you! Your trip must be less than 10 days now! I did have a great time on the drive home with my grandpa. We are fairly close but it was certainly nice to reconnect!

I'll be posting Day 2 very soon!

Day 2:

We woke up still in love with the Contemporary! The room
was really large! We got up and got ready for our breakfast
with Stitch @ Ohana’s! We took the monorail to the Poly, so
convenient btw! We were seated within a few minutes. We
had a fabulous breakfast. They did seam a little stingy with
the mickey waffles though! They gave us one at a time separate
from the platter meal. I don’t remember this from last year.
Hmmm. As we were eating our breakfast, they seated this
unfortunate family next to us. Unfortunate? Cuz, every time
a character came, we asked the dad if he would take our
picture! :lmao: We joked with him that they were going to
ask to move tables! They were really good natured
about it. We offered to take their family photo but he declined.
Well, declined until the main man himself appeared. Yep, Mickey!
So, at least we did take their picture once…..to their 4 of us!

We took the monorail back to the Contemporary. We were
could get used to this! :goodvibe My DH was taking our golf
clubs to the car and while I was waiting for him and the bellman
to pick up our luggage to transfer to POFQ, I logged on the computer.
It was so cool to have a computer in our room! I checked in with
my trip report and checked my email real quick. We decided to
check-in at POFQ before we started our day to avoid the check-in
crowd. Of course, our room wasn’t ready but at least we had our
“work” done. We headed over to the Premium Outlet Mall. I just
love this mall! They have a great WDW merchandise outlet. I
also was planning on a visit to the Coach outlet as we both needed
new wallets. We lucked out and found us both wallets and also a
handbag for me!

We headed back to POFQ and called the number on the way to get
our room number. Our room was ready but our luggage wasn’t there
yet. We had lunch at Sassaaoula and were not impressed! We shared
a chicken wrap and it was soggy and tasteless. We ate as much as
we could and headed off to Disney’s Osprey Ridge to golf.

Here's a few photos of POFQ:

As expected, they paired us up with a single guy. He said he
was from Canada and his wife had just taken a lesson and didn’t
think she was up to playing yet (this is funny later). No biggie,
cool with us. Well, you’ll never believe how this story will turn out!
So, he and my DH, hit their first drive. My DH likes to play from
the tips (that means the farthest tees for you non golfers) but
the guy wanted to do the closest mans tees. Oh, DH conceded,
its best per the golf sheriff to play from the same tees we were
told. Ok, no biggie. Now, it’s my turn to drive, everything fine
so far. We notice he is very slow but perhaps he’s just warming
up yet. Well, I’m starting to pitch on the green and he interrupts
me and says, “That’s okay, take your time”. Well, I’m offended
cuz if I was a man, he wouldn’t talk to me like that! Now, I’m not
a LPGA golfer or anything but I am fairly good. I came in third
place on my league, I’m a board member at our local chapter of
EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) and a country club
member. So, anyway, while not great, I do know my way around
a golf course. I hang right not too far behind my DH on the course
and he didn’t say anything to him. Anyway, I let it go and blew
it off. So, as we golf on, long story short, he annoyed us more
and more. He would take 10 minutes each time to swing and
then diff the ball and start his long routine again. It was obvious
he was a brand new golfer and should not have been on the golf
course yet. Don’t get me wrong as a EWGA member, I play with
newbie’s and have a great time all the time.

But he was clearly no ready for golfing on a course yet, this was painful
and it was our vacation! We had looked forward to playing this course
for months and this guy was ruining it! So, after nine holes, we very
nicely told him to go on without us, we needed to take a break. We
were very sorry, but this heat was getting to me. I took the blame.
My DH was concerned this was rude and it probably was but I’m telling
you I was so stressed out I simply could not take it anymore! So, we
let him go on with out us and the group behind us who had been pushing
us and hitting into us because they were so frustrated, go on too.
As they went by us they said to us, “haha, your finally got rid of that yahoo!”.

Then, we could laugh about it cuz it was miserable! Anyway, we go
on to play the last nine holes and had a fabulous time! My DH says
to me, thanks me for doing that because you were right, it was making
us have a miserable time. So, we finish up and one of the guys that
we let by who spoke to us about that yahoo, tells us how much
trouble they had with him ahead of them. They had to actually
yell at him! Amazing! A single golfer should have been at least 4
holes ahead of their group. So, with that over, we had a great
time and the course was beautiful! We saw so much wildlife! It’s
too bad they are closer it, next year I think.

After all that drama, it put us behind and we didn’t have enough
time to go back to our room to clean up before dinner. We just
drove to the Poly for dinner at Kona Café. We prettied up in the
car and washed our hands etc in the bathrooms at the Poly. Hey,
it’s the best we could do! We laughed and said, “Its okay, we’re
on vacation!” We had a little extra time to shop and pick up some
souvenirs and enjoy the art gallery. Beautiful stuff! We saw the
artist’s work in Hawaii when we were there last year. Wow, it’s
very expensive! We had a fabulous dinner at Kona! I’d only been
before for breakfast! The service and food was outstanding! I had
the Pot stickers and DH had the Creamy Kona Seafood Chowder for
our appetizers. For our entrees, I ordered the Coconut Almond
Chicken and my DH ordered Shrimp and Scallops. For dessert, we
both ordered Crème Brulee and we were disappointed in it. Otherwise,
we had a fabulous time and would highly recommend it.

Here’s my entrée:

We were utterly exhausted after dinner but we wanted to
walk off our dinner a little bit. So we headed to the beach
and were able to watch the Electrical Water Parade! I just
love that parade!

After that we walked or I should say waddled back up the
torch lit walkways, so romantic! We were so full! We drove
back to POFQ for a much needed good night’s sleep!

I never knew they had mickey golf carts. Thats awesome!

That chicken at Kona looks awesome. I may have to rethink what I'm going to order when we go next week.

Great update.:thumbsup2

I am glad you figured out a way to get away from the newbie.:thumbsup2

We ate at Kona and enjoyed it too.:goodvibes

Love the pic of the Mickey golfcart.:cool2:

Thanks but it was tough because we didn't want to be rude. We really don't mind at all with playing with newbies. Heck, we are all amateurs! hehe But really, it was this guy that was rude, perhaps, naively so, but he should know better. It think it would be different if it wasn't a very busy, very expensive, high end golf vacation destination. It would be acceptable at an easier local public golf course. Really, the worst of it probably was the poor group behind us then him alone! :scared:

Update on DH's kidney stone: He is in surgery right now! I'm on the boards while I wait, probably another hour or so. I'll post more tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for reading! Including the lurkers!

I hope all goes well w/ DH's surgery. I'm sure he'll be happy when it's over & done with.
I'm waiting for the day that my DH will agree to go w/o the kids. I guess I'll entice him with a round of golf!!

Just found your report and it is great. Contemporary looks really nice, I never saw a room inside it before. FQ looks nice we stayed at Riverside in July and loved it.

That chicken looked so good from Kona.

Looking forward to the rest.

Golf does work! ;)

Let us know how the surgery goes..sending prayers his way...:grouphug:

Thank you!:goodvibes The surgery went well! DH said that what people say about kidney stones being extremely painful, is that they were not kidding! The worst is over though!
