Yep, we're actually went w/out the kids!

You're leaving in 2 days!!! I'm so excited for you -- we were just at POFQ and it was glorious. So peaceful and quiet (except for us, that is!), perfect for that romantic getaway. :cloud9:

And I must say that you all sound like our kind of people. We absolutely love Gatorland -- been there on 2 different trips. Absolutely incredibly fun in its hokeyness -- and great for those with a sense of humor.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Hope it works its way through before you leave. I'll be thinking about you guys. :hippie:

Glad to hear that about POFQ! It'll be our first visit at FQ and we are really looking forward to it!: Also, glad to hear the good review about Gatorland! We love that stuff! hehe

Thank you for the good wishes!

OH NO!:sad2: Sending prayers your way .Let us know what the Dr says.

Thank you!:goodvibes

Oh, Lisa! Hope everything is okay! They can be so painful. Let us know how everything goes.

Thank you!:goodvibes

Update on DH's kidney stone:

We got the okay from the specialist to go ahead with our vacation. He is scheduled for surgery in 3 weeks. He gave us some pain meds in case he needs it. He thinks we'll be okay, as it's probaby been there awhile but there is still a risk that it may cause a problem. Hence, the current symptoms.

So, we've checked in for our flights and printed our boarding passes! We're finishing up some laundry and last minute errands. We'll finish our packing and load our car with the luggage tonight! Walt Disney World, here we come!

14 hours and we're on our way!

I'll "see" you all when we get back! Thank you everyone!

Lisa!!! Hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!!! I thought of you this morning!

I hope DH feels good and everything goes well!

I can't wait to hear about everything when you get back! Enjoy your time alone!

 pixiedust:

Hello everyone,

We're sitting in the NWA Worldclub waiting for our next flight. I'm kinda bored so I'd thought I'd check to see what's going on with the Dis Boards.

We have almost an hour yet to wait. I brought a Jane Austen book and I'm having a hard time getting interested in it. :confused3

Anyway, thanks everyone for reading my trip report! I'll post a few times live as my DH brought the laptop! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

We just loved the Contem Resort! We'll be staying here again!

We just had breakfast with Stitch at Ohana's! Very fun! My DH is taking our golf clubs to the car and I thought I'd log on real quick. We're moving to POFQ today and playing 18 holes at Osprey Ridge this afternoon.

My DH's kidney stones are behaving so far. Keep your fingers crossed for us!:goodvibes

We're off to AK and MGM tomorrow! I can't wait for AK! Our favorite park!

Crowds in the resorts and downtown disney are not bad at all so far! It's been fairly quiet and no waits for monorails/boats/meals yet.

I'll see ya real soon!

My DH and I took a Disney trip for our 10th anniversay in May this year - without the children. We missed them terribly, but still managed to have lots of good, clean fun.

We stayed at SS and loved it. So much that we just put in a DVC bid.

I hope you guys have a great trip. I can't wait to read all about it.:woohoo:

Hi, Lisa & DH!!! Glad you are having a great time! Enjoy every moment!!!

Yay, have fun at the world! Cant wait for the update. I am glad the stones are okay. Those can be painful!

We're back! I didn't end up posting anymore cuz I got sick! Can you believe it! I woke up in the middle of the night after AK & MGM with a fever! :headache: I took some otc drugs, vitamins and airborne tabs about 2am. I was so upset! I can't be sick at WDW! Isn't that illegal?

Well, I woke up feeling much better but we had to tone down our plans and I went to bed early. So I wasn't able to post, my DH wanted me to go to sleep! Good idea! Anyway, I was able to hold off the fever/congestion until check out day. Whew! The vitamins and airborne probably saved our trip! My DH didn't have any problems with his kidney stones either! Shehssh, we're sounding like two sick people huh?

I'm feeling much better today! I'll start the trip report in the next couple of days. I need to get caught up on everything at home first! I can't wait to share some great stuff!

Welcome home. I got sick at DLR-it was not fun.

Day 1:

Woohoo! :woohoo: It’s finally here! But dang 4am is rough! Of course we
knew it would be and put our luggage in the car last night. So up we were at
4am to shower and get dressed and head to the airport. We ate Poptarts on
the way and before we knew it, we were up in the air. We had a lengthy delay
so had hung out in NWA’s World club until it was time to board our flight. My DH
travels a lot so we are lucky to get some perks. The World club is much plusher
and quieter than the public area. Also, we get food! So we ate some breakfast
and I logged on to the Dis Boards to see what was going on. I added a quick
message on this trip report and then checked my email. I was just too excited
to read the book I brought along. This is strange cuz I love to read. Anyway,
we arrived in MCO about 45 minutes late cuz the airport’s computer has having
issues. We were lucky we only had a layover as there we many people who
missed the flight because of the long check in and security lines. So we
headed to Magical Express to check in, I got in line and my DH went to pick up
our rental car. He picked me up after I checked in at the Contemporary. Almost
perfect timing, he only waited a few minutes outside. We went to Earls of
Sandwich for lunch. This place is starting to be our first meal tradition! We
shared the All American Sandwich which was very good! It’s our favorite!
Wow, it sure was HOT outside! Next we went to Gatorland. I should say we
tried to head to Gatorland. We took an unplanned detour. We got lost. I
printed the map from their website and it looked simple enough so I didn’t do
a backup yahoo map. Well, let me say their map was terrible! We finally got
there 45 minutes later and was at the window to pay and the lady suggested
we wait 10 minutes and we could enter at half price. Well, we were all about
that! So, we waited, in the hot temperatures, waited and melted. We were
quite entertained though as the lady at the window said the word “Hon” after
every other word. They were not busy at all but everyone that
came up she offered to wait until the half price time. There were probably 10
of us waiting. So, we eventually got in, Hon, at half price, Hon, and started our
walking tour, Hon. Hehehe :lmao: Gatorland was kinda tacky but fun. We did
a quick walk tour to the back of the park then did the train tour. Nothing too
exciting. We walked a path back up to the front to see the Gator Wrestlin show.
The path was pretty cool. We saw an Alligator that was huge! His head was
probably more than 3 feet wide. Yes, seriously! I’ve never seen one that big before!

Here he is!

The Gator Wrestling show was pretty entertaining too! Wow, though, they do
have a lot of Alligators. We only stayed at the most 2 hours. We most likely
won’t go back but we are glad we went and had a good time. My DH was happy
cuz he loves his gators!

After Gatorland, we headed back to the Contemporary to rest a bit before dinner.
We explored the resort and our room, very nice! Our room was on the ground
level facing the pool in the South building. We were thinking this would be a perfect
room to have with the kids, on our next trip, they could play in the pool and run back
and forth. Great location!

We took the boat over to Fort Wilderness for our ADR at Trail’s End. This was the
first time my DH saw Fort Wilderness. He really enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. We
decided next time, we needed to do the Hoop Dee Doo as a Family. My DH and I
have been before quite a few years ago. Our server at Trails End was so friendly!
As we were checking out the dessert area, the chef came up to us and asked us
how we were doing? “We were doing great but did the deserts change?” He said
he would have some Strawberry Shortcake brought over to us. How nice was that!
Really, though, I remember the desserts being better but overall the meal was great!
This is my favorite buffet in WDW! We were so tired and full, we just wanted to
crash, so we headed back to the Contemporary via the boat.

Our view on the way back!

We really liked this location! I don’t know why I never put much though into this
resort before, but we both loved it! The service, rooms, cleanliness, and location
were outstanding. We will definitely be back!

I can't be sick at WDW! Isn't that illegal?

Yes, you're right. It is illegal. It was not in the plan -- therefore it cannot happen. So there!

Wow, it sure was HOT outside! Next we went to Gatorland.

I agree -- it was really hot when we were in WDW too! Like, super hot!!!

They were not busy at all but everyone that
came up she offered to wait until the half price time.

Cool beanies on that one!

So, we eventually got in, Hon, at half price, Hon, and started our walking tour, Hon. Hehehe :lmao:

Was she from Bal'mer, hon? :rotfl2: Cuz you know, we hear a lot of that here!

Gatorland was kinda tacky but fun. My DH was happy cuz he loves his gators!

Go hubby, have a good time, shake your groove thing! :dance3:

We really liked this location! I don’t know why I never put much though into this resort before, but we both loved it! The service, rooms, cleanliness, and location were outstanding. We will definitely be back!

The pictures are gorgeous. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time! :hippie:

Glad to hear that Dh's kidney stones behaved.:thumbsup2
Hate to hear that you got sick.
Pictures are beautiful.I would love to try the Contemporary some day.
Looking forward to reading more..:hourglass
