Day 1:
Woohoo!

Its finally here! But dang 4am is rough! Of course we
knew it would be and put our luggage in the car last night. So up we were at
4am to shower and get dressed and head to the airport. We ate Poptarts on
the way and before we knew it, we were up in the air. We had a lengthy delay
so had hung out in NWAs World club until it was time to board our flight. My DH
travels a lot so we are lucky to get some perks. The World club is much plusher
and quieter than the public area. Also, we get food! So we ate some breakfast
and I logged on to the Dis Boards to see what was going on. I added a quick
message on this trip report and then checked my email. I was just too excited
to read the book I brought along. This is strange cuz I love to read. Anyway,
we arrived in MCO about 45 minutes late cuz the airports computer has having
issues. We were lucky we only had a layover as there we many people who
missed the flight because of the long check in and security lines.

So we
headed to Magical Express to check in, I got in line and my DH went to pick up
our rental car. He picked me up after I checked in at the Contemporary. Almost
perfect timing, he only waited a few minutes outside. We went to Earls of
Sandwich for lunch. This place is starting to be our first meal tradition! We
shared the All American Sandwich which was very good! Its our favorite!
Wow, it sure was HOT outside! Next we went to Gatorland. I should say we
tried to head to Gatorland. We took an unplanned detour. We got lost. I
printed the map from their website and it looked simple enough so I didnt do
a backup yahoo map. Well, let me say their map was terrible! We finally got
there 45 minutes later and was at the window to pay and the lady suggested
we wait 10 minutes and we could enter at half price. Well, we were all about
that! So, we waited, in the hot temperatures, waited and melted. We were
quite entertained though as the lady at the window said the word Hon after
every other word.

They were not busy at all but everyone that
came up she offered to wait until the half price time. There were probably 10
of us waiting. So, we eventually got in, Hon, at half price, Hon, and started our
walking tour, Hon. Hehehe

Gatorland was kinda tacky but fun. We did
a quick walk tour to the back of the park then did the train tour. Nothing too
exciting. We walked a path back up to the front to see the Gator Wrestlin show.
The path was pretty cool. We saw an Alligator that was huge! His head was
probably more than 3 feet wide. Yes, seriously! Ive never seen one that big before!
Here he is!
The Gator Wrestling show was pretty entertaining too! Wow, though, they do
have a lot of Alligators. We only stayed at the most 2 hours. We most likely
wont go back but we are glad we went and had a good time. My DH was happy
cuz he loves his gators!
After Gatorland, we headed back to the Contemporary to rest a bit before dinner.
We explored the resort and our room, very nice! Our room was on the ground
level facing the pool in the South building. We were thinking this would be a perfect
room to have with the kids, on our next trip, they could play in the pool and run back
and forth. Great location!
We took the boat over to Fort Wilderness for our ADR at Trails End. This was the
first time my DH saw Fort Wilderness. He really enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. We
decided next time, we needed to do the Hoop Dee Doo as a Family. My DH and I
have been before quite a few years ago. Our server at Trails End was so friendly!
As we were checking out the dessert area, the chef came up to us and asked us
how we were doing? We were doing great but did the deserts change? He said
he would have some Strawberry Shortcake brought over to us. How nice was that!
Really, though, I remember the desserts being better but overall the meal was great!
This is my favorite buffet in WDW! We were so tired and full, we just wanted to
crash, so we headed back to the Contemporary via the boat.
Our view on the way back!
We really liked this location! I dont know why I never put much though into this
resort before, but we both loved it! The service, rooms, cleanliness, and location
were outstanding. We will definitely be back!
