Yep, we're actually went w/out the kids!

I'm glad your husband is doing okay after the surgery -- I'm sure it's very painful.

That chicken dish sure did look good! I might have to try that next time -- we also thought Kona was a very nice dinner.

Looking forward to more. :hippie:

Thanks! We had a discussion about our fave table service and Le Cellier was our first and Kona was our second favorite of our trip!

Day 3:

Today was our favorite park AK in the morning! Our plan was to head over to MGM by 2pmish in time to see the Motorcars Parade. We had our coffee and pop tarts while waiting for the AK bus at POFQ. Before going on with our day, I want to make a comment about POFQ. We were disappointed with this resort. This resort completes my goal of staying at all the moderates but in comparison, I would say this is my least favorite resort. It was dirty; one of our cabinet doors was broke and hanging by one hinge only. Now, I knew that there wasn’t a table service restaurant here but the counter service area was terrible! Its theming was dull and cheap and the whole area was very small. The grounds and pool area just left something to be desired. The other moderates are so much nicer. My favorite is PO Riverside with Caribbean Beach my runner up. The whole time we were at the resort, we wished we were at PO Riverside. We will not return. Anyway, on with AK! We entered the park about 20 minutes late as the bus did a drop off at Blizzard Beach first. It didn’t really effect our day at all though. Our first ride, EE of course, but we did stop long enough to grab some fastpasses for a second ride. What a great ride! Next up was the Safari! We just love this ride! We were sure we saw more animals than ever this time!

So, out of nowhere, this threesome in Disney uniforms stops our entire jeep from exiting. What’s going on, we thought. What’s going on???? It’s the Dream Team! They said we were in the right place at the right time and we just won an ALL DAY FASTPASS!! :woohoo

Here we are with our prize!

WDW122-2.jpg

How lucky! We were so excited! Off we went back to EE to use the fastpass we already obtained and then, guess what? We rode it again with our ALL DAY FAST PASS CARD! Love it! We wore that lanyard around our necks with pride! Next we decided to head over to do Dinosaur and PW with our ALL DAY PAST PASS! We were getting hungry so we headed to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch. We love that place! We shared a chicken bbq plate. Yum! Wow, was it hot outside!! Whew! We decided to take a break and watch FOLK show! It’s our favorite show! Fabulous as always! Next up was the Bugs! It seemed like it was funnier this time!

WDW135-2.jpg

When we exited the tree, it was pouring rain and thundering! Yuck! Of course, a good Diser, like myself, has ponchos in our bag! We whip those babies out and we’re good to go! Since it was after 1pm, we decided to head over to MGM. It was a tough decision because we had our ALL DAY FAST PASS at AK! But we felt we were done here. AK is a tough park to enjoy in the rain.

So we took the bus to MGM and the rain had lightened up a little bit and the thunder stopped. We grabbed fast passes for RnRC and waited in the stand by line for Tower. This ride is so much fun! The parade of course was cancelled due to the rain so we walked around a little bit on our way to Mama Melrose. We played in the New York set area. We didn’t take any pictures though because of the rain. It was about time for our ADR at Mama Melrose. It would be great to get out of the rain for awhile! Our dinner here was really good! I was a little nervous because of the mixed reviews. I will say, beware of the tooth breaking bread! Both of our appetizers were terrible and the bread was so hard! I ordered the Artisan Breads and Spreads and my DH ordered Bruschetta. I ordered the Charred Butcher Tender Steak for my entrée and my DH ordered the Spicy Italian Sausage. For dessert we ordered Tiramisu and Crema Limone. Our entrees and desserts were fabulous! I would recommend dining here but the service was slowish and the appetizers are not appetizing. Knowing that, we would still come back.

Guess what? The rain stopped! We went back to use our RnRC fastpasses and had a blast! This is my favorite ride! In addition, Aerosmith is my favorite rock band! We had to do it again! We got fastpasses for later. It was time for The Beauty and The Beast show. We missed this last year so my DH has never seen this. It was a must do this time. Nice show but not FoLK in AK!

Here’s my DH waiting for the show to start.
WDW136-2.jpg

We did the One Man’s Dream exhibit next. We had a great time! We loved learning all this good stuff! In the past, with the kids, we had the time or interest (the kids) in checking out this attraction. The movie at the end is very touching. I kinda got a little teary eyed. I can’t remember what exactly affected me but I remember getting a tad emotional. Ok, enough about that. Ahem! We still had some time before our RnRC fast passes so we decided to do The Great Movie Ride. As we walked up to the queue, a large group of Brazilians stood near the entrance looking unsure. Right, so, there were two already in line (we didn’t’ realize this yet) and the rest of them were deciding whether to ride as we got in line. After we get in line, they all decide they want to ride. What happened of course was few by few they cut in front of us to join the two that were already in line. They were bumping into us and eventually they all ended up in front of us and we ended up behind at least 15 of them. Seriously! Why didn’t they just let us ahead of them, which would have been the polite thing to do. Urgghh. Just as we are about losing our patience they all decide not to ride and walk or I should say run everyone over in line behind us as they leave. Unbelievable! They waited in line for at least 20 minutes and annoyed the heck out of everyone around them for nothing. This of course was the longest line we waited in during our entire trip. At least they were gone! I certainly didn’t want to get on the same boat with them! We were able to enjoy waiting in line now and had an enjoyable time on the ride. Thank goodness! I don’t remember that ride being so long though. It was pouring rain and thundering again and it was almost 8:30pm! We decided it was too late to use our RnRC fast passes as we had a VIP ticket and the entrance time was 8:30. However, we were worried about Fantasmic getting cancelled! So we stood under a canopy waiting for the rain to lighten up and the thunder to stop. We also were debating on how long to wait before leaving. Our warm and dry room was sounding pretty good! Sure enough, the rain and thunder stopped and the show was on! This was our first time to enjoy the VIP Fantasmic package. The seats were fine but the best thing was the entrance. We didn’t have to fight the crowds to enter nor did we have to arrive so early. It was pretty cool! Too bad we couldn’t exit the same way we came in! We probably won’t do it next time as we want to eat dinner at Sci-Fi. As we didn’t have kids with us, we walked up to the top of the bleachers just before the Grand Finale and watched it from there to get a head start from the crowds. We couldn’t wait to get back to our room for a shower! We were exhausted but excited about tomorrow! It would be my DH’s first visit to Epcot!

Sounds like fun-I'm always impressed when adults get Dream-teamed-it gives me hope.

congrats on the fastpass. sounds like you had a nice day even with the rain. Glad u liked Mama Melrose, we did not when we went.

Great report! Congrats on the fastpasses -- I'd love to get them this week! Thanks for the review on Mama Melrose. We have ADR's for next Monday, and I've been a little concerned. I've heard so many negative things, but DH and I love Italian food so we'd like to give it a try anyway. I hope it won't dissapoint us. I guess I'll have to wait to catch up on the rest of your report when I get back from Disney next Wed. We leave tomorrow morning!!! :cool1:

You got a dream!!:woohoo: That is awesome and it sounds like you had a great day. Looking forward to hearing about Epcot-it is becoming one of my favorite parks.:goodvibes

Thanks for the insight on POFQ - DH and I may do a few days alone next year when I have a company meeting. I was considering POFQ but now maybe I won't. I've been to POR and loved it. I wanted to try another moderate but CBR will be re-doing the pool and we live in New Mexico so Coronado Springs does not appeal (too much like home :rotfl2: ) I've never stayed at a value so we could try that.... maybe back to POR!

Due to the pool rehab, I agree and would go back to POR. You can walk over to POFQ and check it out, you'll be glad you didn't stay there. There's really not much to it. I would avoid the values if you can. Especially if you'll be there alone w/out the kids. They are loud (all night long), crowded and hectic! It's much much more peaceful at the moderates. You can go to the bar at POR they have a fabulous piano guy in the evening!:cool1:

I have to tell you all what happened to me this weekend. Well, long story short, after I got back from Alabama with my grandpa, my tooth had started bugging me. So, I made an appt w/my dentist to get it checked out. My dentist couldn't see anything nor on the x-ray. So he made an appt for me with a specialist. A root canal specialist for Sept 25, tomorrow. Well, the pain was getting worse and worse. My jaw started to swell so I called the specialist to see if they could put me on a waiting list. This was Thursday morning. They called me about half hour later and said they could squeeze me in if I could come now. So, not exactly thrilled about possibly having a root canal but was sick of this pain, I went. It was determined that I needed a root canal on the last tooth, lower right. So, it was done and really wasn't that bad, they really numbed me up! Later that night, I felt throbbing in my mouth and aching. Friday I was in so much pain, I had tears in my eyes! I left work early cuz I was hurting so much and called the dentist. The one that did my root canal wasn't in but his partner said to take ibuprofin every 3 hours and the pain should be gone in 24 hours. Well, Saturday morning, still in tears in pain, my husband called the dentist's emergency number. The dentist who performed my root canal called him back and told us to come in to the office. So, we went and after more testing and exams, it was determined that he either did the wrong tooth or both teeth were damaged. I ended up having a second root canal on Saturday! :scared1:

Anyway, I was glad to get numbed up, even though I hate those shots! I was in so much pain! Now, the pain is still gone and my jaw is so sore from all that dental work and shots! It's still swollen alittle too! At least it's over now and he ended up doing the second root canal for free. He was a good dentist and very apologetic! He said they both probably needed but was sorry I had to go through that much pain!

I just wanted to share my weekend with you all! I hope you disers had a better weekend!:goodvibes

On a better note, my DH's family is talking about getting a family trip to WDW for New Years week. That scares me! I think it's too crowded to enjoy anything! I'm not sure if we'll go! That amazes them cuz they know I'm a disney nut! :rotfl:

Now I have stayed at both POR and POFQ and love POFQ (at least 2 times each)...I love the smallness of it, it was always clean and we got prompt service. Everyone is different...just like with any of the restaurants some like them and some swear by them.

But I recommend POFQ or at least check it out.

I agree... I've seemd some glowing reviews of POFQ recently and then others that aren't great. It is on my list as the moderate choice... will have to see what DH wants to spend. If it ends up being a solo trip I think I will pick POFQ also.

Lisa-

I am just getting caught up on yoru TR and it is awesome, or course :thumbsup2

Too bad about that guy you got paired with to golf, that's a bummer. I think it was totally appropriate to ditch him by the way :lmao:

Your pics from, Kons look amazing! My DM and I are trying Kona for dinne our first night there. I hadn't seen any good pics of the chicken, but it looks wonderful. My DM, not a red meat eater will definitely like that and I'll be sure to suggest it to her. Too bad about the creme brulee though.

Congrats too on your AK fast passes!! We saw the Dream Team a bunch of times during our last trip (DBF and myself) but no dreams for us. I am hoping to be lucky this time, but not holding my breath- I'm lucky enough to be spending a week in WDW with my mom in the first place! :cool1: :cool1:

Well, I betetr get back to work here. I can't wait to hear more about your trip!

I think it just didn't have as much to offer. The theming just didn't do it for us. It seemed cheap. We actually had this conversation while sitting at the pool regarding what does a dragon have to do with the New Orleans theme? Perhaps they should have made it a giant gator! :rotfl:

As far as us, our room was dirty and they never brought/replaced our shampoo/soap without us asking. One of the doors on a table was actually hanging by one hinge. We were glad we didn't have young kids with us as it wasn't safe. We reserved and received a preferred room too.:confused3

Of course, in all things, people get different rooms/service but this was our experience. In our opinion there are much better resorts/rooms/grounds to enjoy. However, we're glad we have stayed at all the mods and now we can choose based on our expereince/faves.:goodvibes

Yikes sorry about all your teeth troubles!:scared1: Glad you are feeling better.

:goodvibes Thank you! I am feeling better. You know how your jaw feels like after you have ate alot of chewy candy? That's how my jaw feels. I hope it goes away soon!

Day 3 part 2:

I forgot this part about the bus at MGM! As we were on the bus waiting for everyone to board so we could head back to POFQ, this man boards and starts yelling at the bus driver. He was saying something about how he had a terrible day and everyone was rude and did not accommodate him. The bus driver asked some people to move for a wheelchair. The man kept yelling. The bus driver finally said, “look, I’m sorry you had a bad day, but everyone on this bus is accommodating you so please let me get your wheelchair so we can strap you in. So, the bus driver gets his wheelchair that he left by the door which was blocking everyone from boarding and straps the man in. The man was complaining that he was strapped in too much! The bus driver says, I have to do my job and ensure your safety. This guy was so rude! It was just not pleasant to watch and not how we wanted to end our day. I’m sure everyone else on the bus thought so too.
The bus ride to POFQ was really quiet but it was kinda relaxing that way.

I'll post day 4 later today!:thumbsup2

ok your tooth OUCH!! I had a root canal done and it was not fun.

the rude man i would have had a problem. I hate people complaining and making everyone think it is there problem. he would of heard from me.
