I have heard that analogy re. complaining to Disney. BUT I am planning to complain about my experience today ANYWAY!!!!!
My child has special dietary needs (several allergies, a few can be life threatening). He has always (on many trips) been accomodated nicely at Disneyland, Disneyworld and on The Magic (last year). We arrive next week, and as usual I have noted all his needs upon making my ADRs, and plan to ask to speak to the Chef at each location. As well as speaking (via telephone) to the head chef at our resort (ASMU).
Welll, for the first time I was sent (via email) an allergy/special diet request form. It is rather detailed asking for contact info, ressie #s, all allergies, favorite foods etc. etc. After filling it out, I realized there was not a fax # included with the form.. . . . I called Disney Dining and they referred me to the number for Special Dietary Needs (I called them last week, and Brenda sent me the original email with the form, but we never spoke on the phone. It is always sent to her voicemail. When she calls my home she repeatedly asks for my email address to send me some info. Then I get the "general allergy info" in my email account.) I explained that I just needed a fax # to send this form back. I was given a phone number. That phone number turned out to be a restaurant location! So, the restaurant manager transferred my call to the Resort Operator; only it wasn't the resort operator at all, it was some sort of spell the name of the cast member you want directory........Hung up and started over again! This time I spoke to a woman who said that she had never heard of such a form (neither had I until this trip) and she didn't even think I needed it! Well, I asked to speak to a guest services agent (by now I was pretty steamed). She put me on hold (again) and came back on to tell me that the Guest Serv agent "told her" that I did not need the form, and she (guest serv agent) didn't know the fax number either! I thanked this person for her effort, and said I would like to speak to the Guest Serv. person MYSELF!
Guest Serve CM listened to me explain my wasted time, and that this was a new procedure to me (she agreed it was to her as well, but that the form was for severe situations-how would she know?). I explained that we are repeat and very loyal (fanatical) disney customers, and that this was not what we had come to expect from Disney and was NOT the best way for me to begin our vacation. I wanted to let them know of this gap in the system so that another Mom with a special diet kid would not have this experience (I explained). She said, "Okay, I've noted it. Have a nice day." That was it. No apology. No, "I'll look into this and get back to you!" GRRRRRRRRR
I have never been this mad at the mouse before!!!!!!
Where do I send my letter????????
:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad1::sad1::sad1:

In the original email that the dietary request form is attached to, there is an email address and fax number to send the completed form.

email: specialdiests@disneyworld.com or fax# 407 560-1355
Not sure why your letter did not include this, I emailed our request form back and had a response within 24 hours. Exceptional service if you ask me.:thumbsup2

P.S. Did you realize you posted this in the trip report forum. Maybe a moderator can move it for you.

And, btw, always had excellent service at disney before!!!!! for years.
Why did none of the agents know the fax #? or the email address.
Seems like info. that should not have taken me an hour and 3 phone calls to get.
THen i get it here. Thanks again. I appreciate your response!

:thumbsup2

It's okay that you vented here.
I think if I moved it to another board,
you may get some, not very nice responses.
Plus you will also get some nice advice, also.
You have to remember you spent 3 hours and more
trying to figure out the situation. It sounds like the CM's you spoke with were on the phone only a few minutes. To them, they just took care of another Customer Service problem and moved on to the next one.
It's frustrating as heck and I hope you will have a great trip, and if you did go already, I hope you post a TR.
