YEH!!! I got thanksgiving!

I'm so excited!!! I just got off the phone with MS. I reserved a 2BR at the BCV for 11/23 - 11/29. I had been waitlisted at our home resort BWV but we got in at the 7 month window at the BCV! I did have to wait awhile to get through but now I have it!!

Now I can start planning! Any suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner?

Anyone else going for Thanksgiving?

Congratulations! We'll be at OKW 11/23-11/29 and then moving somewhere else for Fri night since point values are so high that night. It is our first Thanksgiving trip and our first trip "home". I am having trouble deciding about Thanksgiving dinner.

We'll be at VWL for Thanksgiving. Hoping to have dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern, or else maybe Artist Point....

At my 11 month window, I secured 8 nights at Vero, 11/21 - 11/28. I just called and got the first four nights switched over to BCV's. I am so excited, I really thought I would not be able to get these.

Now we get the best of both worlds, the relatively quieter time at the parks days before Thanksgiving, and then four days at Vero. We spent last Thanksgiving week at Vero, and we all loved it.

I have booked 11/25-12/1 at BVC 1 BR. I just have to finish the reservation tomorrow for 12/1. So far, no prob getting anyone on the line, no prob getting my days! I booked Thanksgiving and the Fri. after right away (we now own 100 BVC pts.) and finished the rest with our HH points on the 7 month window.

I'm very excited. We are taking the whole week (my daughter has off Wed-Fri anyway). Sat. is my hubbie's 40th B-day. What better way to celebrate than being a kid at Disney!!!?

Everyone has been very nice... Now, I'm trying to figure out what special things and restaurants to do! (Suggestions anyone??) We're also getting rehitched!

We stayed at the BWV this past year the week of Thanksgiving. 11/18 thru 11/25/01. The parks were not crowded until the Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving. The MK was extremely crowded on Friday. So crowded that we left the park by 10:30am and went over to MGM which was not as crowded.

A great place to dine on Thanksgiving is the Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner in the MK. The colonial atmosphere was really nice. I believe that it is 60 day PS for the Liberty Tree Tavern. It is very popular and also fills up quickly for Thanksgiving.

Working on BCV day by day for the first week of Dec.; we'll drive up on Sun. from Vero. My big problem....and boy am I lucky if this is my biggest problem in life....is that on Monday, when I have to call for the last three days of my Dec. trip....I'm going to be in the air at 9 AM - flying down to Orlando to OKW for a three nighter with hubby for our anniversary! I'm lovin' life right now. Thanks for listening...

Congratulations! I loved Thanksgiving there!

What we did for Thanksgiving was to get one of the dinners that Publix made with everything done. We came back in the afternoon from MK (don't do MK on Thanksgiving Day, it was PACKED!) to OKW and just heated the meal up. Wasn't fancy, but still a turkey dinner with all the fixin's! We figured that since we always come back to the villa in the afternoon, why not have our turkey meal in the villa? It was nice with all our family there, too!

Thanks for the info about Publix, that's an interesting option! I've been thinking about which restaurant I wanted to have dinner, but I think this might be a really good option for us, thanks!

Half the reason I"m so excited to go for Thanksgiving is that I hate to cook! I'm getting out of my yearly job of making Thanksgiving dinner by going to VB....taint no way I'm cooking down there!!! But thanks for the ideas ! I'll be making something alright....reservations!

That's really not cooking, though. Just reheating!

Maybe that is the reason why I always volunteer to work on Thanksgiving Day; I don't have to make Thanksgiving dinner!!!!! (If I had to do that dinner every year, I would certainly be making PS's too!)

We did the same thing for dinner last year at Vero and getting it at Publix. We embelished it a little by adding a couple of side dishes that Publix also offered.

It was really nice and we can't wait to do it again.

I agree that one of the best things about going this year is no worries over who is making Thanksgiving dinner!

Right now we are leaning towards NOT going to a park on Thanksgiving because I have been reading that the crowds are so bad. If the weather is nice, I would consider going to a water park. Since we may not go in to a park, has anyone eaten at the hotels for Thanksgiving. We will have a big age range from grandparents to at least 3 kids, ages 9 - 4.
