I went to my first meeting last year and perhaps I am the exception...but planned another trip this year around the next meeting.
I attended the first session of the day (with a start time of around 11:00 give or take) which was very scripted and no interaction between attendees and the official business at hand. Attendance was very low to this session but I felt some points of discussion were covered in a deeper depth fashion than the second meeting/member session held later in the day.
Then there was a short break for lunch or whatever and then the large members meeting. Don't let the boards fool you, the room was jammed packed...way more attendees than I anticipated. They went over some of the same discussion points as the first session but not to the same degree of information (personally I was glad I went to both).
Then after the more formal business was covered it was Q&A time which I found to be extrememly interesting. I think it was a great way to spend a few hours of my trip to stay connected to a 'club' that I have a lot of money invested into.
BTW, the second meeting/member meeting was kicked off with excitement and balloons dropping from the ceiling and a great 'mood setter' for the meeting.
