What a great thread! I'll be sure to post any "dreams" I see while I'm there in 35 DAYS!!!

Have a question - I'll be traveling solo for this November trip, and I'd like to spread some of my own Pixie Dust, but I want to be very careful about how I do it - single woman handing out stuff might make some parents nervous. What can I do that won't make anyone feel uncomfortable but that might make someone's day? (I know I wouldn't want anyone giving my DDs any kind of food, so that's out)...thanks for any suggestions you can give me! :thumbsup2

My husband and I (by ourselves) have bought ballons (you know the big Mickey/Minnie ones) befor and walked around and waited until we found a child that we thought would like to have it ....We try to find ones that dont look like they have alot of other things...And Ill always ask the parent first,...Just incase they dont want to be bothered with a balloon or something..(and I was tuned down once, didnt question it ...just moved on.)
Most are very happy to say yes!

Its alot of fun ....and the best $6 Ill spend.....
We have been to WDW so many times, and I KNOW if this happened to ANY of my DGC they would be thrilled....Its just somthing that puts joy in our hearts :confused3 ...
Theres a picture of it in my blog.....I think ;)

That has got to be the most magical sweet moment I have ever read. That would have had my kids completely and totally in awe of the magic of WDW for the rest of their life!! I can't wait to tell them this story when they get home from school.
:grouphug: DITTO!
Thanks for sharing the story Cass! :cloud9:

October 24-28: Me, DH and our good friends Bill & Stacey, our first time at Coronado Springs.

On our first day, DH and I returned to CSR for a late afternoon break and said hello to two CMs we passed. The woman called me back and presented me with a pair of special edtion Tink pins…one to keep and one to share. At Studios, we met a fun CM named Brian who really got into his role at Star Tours. As we exited after our ride, he asked if anyone wanted to ride again, and I jumped at the chance. Brian asked our names and where we were from before sending us back to Endor. It was just the four of us….very cool. As we were leaving, he presented us with a certificate with all of our names to commemorate our “Return to Endor.” Stacey got a huge kick out of that.

Other than our experiences, we only saw one couple with the Dream FastPass, and never witnessed anything else.

Just back from our 10/26-10/30 stay at POP....My son received a couple of small magic moments with corresponding certificates - bowling at POP and a chance to introduce the ride at Rockin Roller Coaster - but the best was on Saturday 10/28 and we were in line at DINO in AK...we say the dream team and my heart started to beat like crazy but we get into line and nothing - then about 5-10 right behind us come in with dream fast passes and my hopes dashed.......my son loves dino and we got to AK early for breakfast so we run around to ride again and guess what we get ushered into our room and told that we are going to get an xtra hour at AK after the park closes (from 5:30-6:30) with all rides open (except kilimanjaro).......during this extra hour my son and I rode Everest 7 times in a row (we had already ridden it four times during our day - and we got stuck the first time and had to walk down - more about this in my trip report so for my son and I this was most magical....we also go a button that let people know we received a special moment and while in line later that day a little girl kept looking and pointing at my bin and I wanted to pass a little magic so gave it to her on her way into the ride....

We were at AK that day and missed our chance for extra hours. That sounds like a great dream come true. Congrats!

We did receive dream pins & lanyards when we entered our star ship on Star Tours at MGM Studios on Thursday, Oct. 26th. It was really exciting. We got there early and rode Star Tours around 9:15AM.

Just an observation of the Dreams and Dream Squad. Most Dream Fast Passes are being handed out early in the day. This gives the guests all day to enjoy them. In fact, most of the people I spoke with who received the Fast Passes, Lanyards, and hats all told me they got there dreams early in the day, before 11:00AM. My guess is that if you want to increase your chances of winning something arrive early and go on as many attractions as you can.

Another observation is that the Dream Squad are very covert. They seem to be hiding out until its time to hand out dreams. I asked about this to a few Cast Members and they told me at the beginning of the promotion a lot of people identified the Dream Squad members and were following them around. They were even getting approached by a lot of people asking for or about the dreams. Although you will see them walking through the parks they don't roam, they tend to hide out in other places and await there time and place to hand out dreams. When we received our dream lanyards and pins at Star Tours the Dream Squad member came out of nowhere to tell us about our dream, she reached in her bag for the lanyards, handed them out and left quickly through the back exit.

Well, that is still amazing! I don't think I can even imagine one of the parks with only a couple hundred people in it.... ha ha ha :)

We leave in ---5 hours!!! Get to our first park tomorrow. And I havent told DH and DD about YOMD either, cause I dont want to get their hopes up. Mine are up high enough as it is! Trying to remain calm, figure our happiness at being there alone is a good wish and if our vibes get picked up by the Dream Squad and we get a wish, so much the better!!

I am really enjoying these stories.......here's pixie dust for all pixiedust:

Covert Dream Team!

Is anyone else's Dream to spend the day on the Dream Team? What fun that would be!

Still stuffing my pin bag!

we went to WDW for our first family trip 9/30 -10/7. Let me just say that our biggest dream was fufilled when we drove under the arch!!!!!! My Dh and I had been planning this trip for close to 2 years and told the boys 10 days before we left...surprise! We are going to disney for your birthdays! Whoo hoo! And we celebrated our 10th anniversary where we honeymooned. A very special trip indeed.

While experiencing all of the great joys of WDW on any regular day, we did get a few extras along the way ~

Monday, Oct 2nd the boys were picked to start the Indiana Jones show at MGM. Shy as they are, my then 4 yr old had no problem yelling out 'Lights Camera Action' leaving his older brother with little to say before the music started. we got a great certificate and picture afterwards with 'Jones & Marion'

That same evening, while big brother and dad were riding the RRc, a CM noticed my youngest and I wandering the gift shop. He asked him if he wanted to come help the cars unload. He got to wear a 'jr valet' vest and we waved to everyone coming off RRC and then had to use the 'all clear' hand signal to move the car to the loading area. He was so happy to be a big boy even though he was too short to ride. and to top it off......he got a cert. for a free ice cream :)

the biggest surprise was being chosen as the family to ride in the Family Fun cart for the parade 10/3. That was a alot of fun and the pictures with the boys meeting the characters are great.

We gave lots of dust too.....I used some of our free food credits to a newly engaged couple for the breakfast one morning. And I shared lots of neon bracelets at Fantasmic. The boys enjoyed handing them out to all of the kids around us....even some moms too!

A wonderful trip for all! We too saw lots of fast passes hanging from necks. We were just happy and are sooo blessed to have been able to afford and go for so long like we did.

Everyone who is still waiting......have fun!!!!!

Sounds like an Awesome time, good to hear your YOAMD story.

We had just gotten off the Disney Wonder from a Magical cruise on Thursday, and on Saturday decided to spend the day at the MK. It was a great day, and really not that busy. We didn't need our fastpasses at all. That alone made it a magical day.
Around 4 pm we were going to head back but at the last minute decided to ride Buzz Lightyear. The line was outside and we almost didn't as this would of been our first wait of the day. We stood in one place for a good 5 minutes than we started in with a real fast moving line. I think the stoppage was to set up the Dream Team!! When we got to the loading area :teeth: there was one person using a counter to count people than 4-5 CM handing all of us gifts. We got 4 beautiful pin Lanyards that say Year of a Million Dreams with two special pins. It had a card dangling from the end. We were excited that we got this along with about 100 others in line that moment. It sure is being in the right place at the right time! The kids wore them so proudly!
Since we had spent the whole day at the park, winning a fast pass would of been a waste for us as we were leaving. I guess we could of given someone their own dream but having the lanyards is great for the memories of our fun week with Disney. PS. We never win anything so we were even more excited than most!

You were at Pop too? What room number? We had the 50's bldg rm 1139 and I was looking for any LGMH's but didn't see any.

Regarding the certificates, our DS4 received 3 of them. He was Jr. Professor at HIStA on 10/26, had his hand print done on the back of a certificate at MGM's Movie Ride on 10/30 (went in via the VIP entrance) and received his last one at Expedition Everest on 10/31. He was two inches too small to ride EE, so we got a "behind the scenes" look at the video monitering system and got to see where the track switch is done! Kimberly from EE was even nice enough with one other CM to watch our son so that both DH and I could ride EE together, after we had done the rider switch.

I was quite surprised to win a wish today at Animal Kingdom. I was walking into Dinosaur, and they were kind of hurrying everyone through the queue. We proceeded to watch the preshow, and as the doors opened the Wishes crew stopped us and announced that we had all won dream fastpasses! :thumbsup2 Fortunately I didn't need to use any of the fastpasses since it was so empty today.

I think what is the coolest thing about YOAMD is that it's so random & spontanious. I mean it can happen to anybody!!!!! :cool1:

off topic: I hope they save some of those dream fastpasses for when I'm there June/July....cuz we will certainly need them then!

Just returned from WDW and did not receive any wishes, but saw many of the dream fast passes and Mickey ears. We saw the most dream team members at AK. They were all waiting when we got off Everest but then it was the group on the ride behind us who received the fast apsses so we were THIS close. It's ok though as this trip was to introduce our daughter to our favorite place. That alone was a dream come true for us.

we were at Pop 10/25-10/29 - seems alot of us were there!! My DD's got several MM's all over, but none were realted to dreams. My favorite was the twim pets rocks they received and had to name!!
