yyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaawnnnnnnnnnn

I'm awake......after about 5 hours sleep I got up around 7:30. No energy to turn on the computer LOL. Thanks for the breakfast......looks yummy!!!

Well, I'm here to report that our group of "favorite things" were finalists in the costume contest at the Sing Along Sound of Music last night. My stepDD was "whiskers on kittens", DIL was "snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes", her mom and two friends were "girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes" and "warm woolen mittens", DD was "brown paper packages tied up with string" and of course my sister and I "wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings". The brown paper packages and the wild geese (the costumes I put together of course ;) )were huge hits with the audience :teeth: Another group won though........they were very authentically garbed in the "travelling clothes" from the scene at the end where the Von Trapps hide in the Abbey and escape from the Nazis. They carried the "tombstones" from the Abbey and hid in groups behind them and had a Nazi planted in the audience with the flashlight. Methinks this was the same group that last year had very professional life-size "marionette" costumes from the "lonely Goatherd" puppet scene. I think they must have been involved in a stage production of TSOM at some point......NOT FAIR!!!!!!! ;) :) But we had a blast hehehehe They show the movie with subtitles for all the song lyrics, you boo the Nazis and hiss at the Baroness and generally "participate" in the movie. If you like that movie and if the SingAlong comes to your town, it's a LOT of fun!

Today, have to finish laundry, return library books, and go buy a new iron  dropped mine a couple of weeks ago and a plastic piece broke off the bottom and it won't "stand up" anymore...and the cord makes a kind of crackling sound so I think I bettter toss it!

OK, the laundry and bills are done, the new iron is awaiting it's christening (hey, I never said I was going to USE it today), DD and the BF are dropping my book returns at the library on the way to his house for Superbowl (he has his license now  ).
So DH and I are getting out the TGIFriday snacks that were on sale 2/$5 at Shaw's yesterday..........Mozzarella sticks and a hots pinach/cheese/artichoke dip.......pouring a glass of wine and getting ready for the big game......or in my case getting ready to sit on the couch and peek through the week's worth of newspapers in between watching the commercials ;) :teeth:

where'd everyone go today???????????????????????????????????

Can't speak for everyone else, but, I went to work.
You forget, I have one of those worker-abusive jobs, where week-ends and holidays are just a figment of my imagination...or, else a distant memory. :(

I get "over heated"

you should be picking on Ann, she likes to play antler games
or Brandie who prefers "you're under arrest" games or Teri who prefers foursomes ...and leave me out of this

Wowser!! When you put it that way, I think you all are just way too kinky for me to hang around! I have a sainted reputation to maintain, you know. :p

Not a football fan here, so, guess I'm hanging on the 'puter till the boys get home.

Yep, I remember those weekend thingies when I was in retail management right out of college. The only good part IMHO was having a day off during the week to schedule appointments and do grocery shopping and stuff.

Anyhow, I'll pop in off and on tonite..........I didn't say I was watching football.......I'm eating and watching the commercials ;)

Just popping in to say a quick hello.

Must go read and read and read some more.

Everyone have a great Superbowl night.

Have a nice week....

glad you enjoyed your breakfast Ann :)

as for the others....see if I ever make breakfast for you again :p

good morning cheerleaders!!!

didn't i tell you that it was no fair picking on me when i wasn't here to defend myself?????

the headboard isn't quite ready yet...took a lot longer than we thought to put it together and get it all painted and stuff...right now, it's leaning against the fireplace in the living room! it needs about one more coat of paint and we need to get some wood filler to fill in some of the holes the nails made...then pain over that and it's done!! i'm hoping that we can move it into the bedroom tomorrow at the latest. once it's all done, i'll post a picture of it!! it looks really nice so far...it took us forever to get it together...mostly cuz we were out shopping for other stuff for the room. we got some great deals too!! we went to cost plus world market (if you aren't familiar with the place, it's kind of like pier one) and found a candle chandelier like thing. it was marked $40...we decided that was what we wanted so we took it up to pay for it. it rang up $20!!! and then we went to pier one. just to browse...ended up finding curtains for $11 each in the material that we liked...a lamp to put on the nightstand for $30
G42933t.jpg
...and an end table that we will use as a nightstand...it was regularly priced at $169...we walked away with it for $37.50!!!!!
G40716t.jpg
the picture is of the smaller stand...but the one we bought is about the size of a normal end table, but with the same design around the edges...it's slightly damaged, but it adds to it's charm. i guess we're kind of going for an exotic design in our room...i'll post a picture of our comforter and stuff once the headboard's done and all put together...

welcome home ann!! these people have been picking on me...i swear...i said one teeny tiny thing and the gutter minds ran with it...

naked nad... i think that we should change your screen name...

and thanks for the late breakfast!! i would have enjoyed it while it was still nice and hot, but i was a little busy...;)

k..gotta run for the moment...have a good day!!

found a candle chandelier like thing. it was marked $40...we decided that was what we wanted so we took it
I have heard some amusing chandelier bedroom stories  :teeth:
For example...there was this guy that dressed up as superman
and his lady was tied to the headboard...so this is right up your alley Brandie ;) ....anyway....superman takes a flying leap off the dresser...to save his lady  but he smacks into the chandelier and drops unconscious :teeth: So there he is .....unconconsious or maybe he was dead....can't quite remember.... and of course she can't help cuz she's tied up :teeth:

they have to wait to be rescued by someone.....imagine walking in on that scene  :teeth: ;) :teeth:

maybe you could tell us how it ends for you Brandie :teeth:

then there's tarzan......he swings from the chandelier  Oh nevermind .....
you can make it up as you go along :teeth:

see what i mean!!!!!!!

i was just telling you guys about the great deals that we found and she ran with it!!!!

psssssst...there won't be any chandelier swinging in my house...this chandelier isn't sturdy enough... ;)

Good morning!
Debbie- the beakfast you made yesterday looked delicious but I wasn't here to enjoy it. I was at work in an empty rsturaunt bc apparently due to the cold and Super Bowl very few people were going out to eat. 'Oh well, I was hostessing so I got paid the same weather we were busy or dead. Now if I was serving last night, I'd have been aggravated.
Brandie- great deals. I'm the queen of bargain shopping, I am always finding the best deals ( comes from so much prctice, I usually shop constantly and always check all the clearance racks 'cause you never know what you'll find).
Anway hope ya'll had a great weekend! I'll be back later, I have to go to the medical suplies store to pik up my wrist splint the doctor prescribed last week. Ya'll have fun and behave  ;) while I'm gone.

i don't suppose you have this on vidio tape.....I would love to see it :) at the very least you must have photo's :)
you need to post them here ;)

No video! My DIL's mother's friend took some pics and she lives in Massachusetts, so I expect at SOME point she will send pics to DIL and MAYBE I'll see what I can do about getting prints for myself and would have to send someone a hard copy...........you forget I am photo-posting impaired too Debbie :teeth: (thank goodness hehehe)

It's too bitterly cold here. I wanna go back to Florida. sigh

it's been so quiet in here today!!!!

i actually found this thread on page 2!

not much to say here...hoping to go home and finish putting our bedroom together.

well, hope everyone has a good night!! catch ya tomorrow...

Good afternoon, everyone! Brrrr--it's cold outside. Don't you hate when you get off from work and have to go out and get in that icy cold car? At least in the morning, I am able to let it warm up while I am in the warmth inside the house, but, in the afternoon, all I can do is be cold. Isn't it Spring time, yet?

Brandie, Brandie, Brandie---my friend Debbie was just telling you how to make some of your new bargains multi-functional (while, perhaps handing out hints on how to keep your marriage vibrant and interesting) and you just took it the wrong way. She wasn't picking on you---honest. Just being helpful. After all, that's what we do--help one another. :p

Ann--I am not even going to go there with the goose thing and the horns and honking.

See? I can be good!

Try to stay warm, everyone!

Did I mention that it's COLD here in NH...and that I want to go back to Florida. It's 7 right now with a wind chill below zero. Ugh.

Brandie...........DH and I went to the Adventurere's Club (our first time to PI!) on our trip. So now I can say "Kungaloosh!" ;)
We also went to a seating at the Comedy place, and watched a band outdoors for awhile. Then us old poops were back to the room by midnight :)

cute ;) :teeth: you just couldn't wait to get there ;)

Good evening everyone. It's freezing here too.It seems like it has been forever since it was above freezing. Tomorow it's supposed to rain, so I'm guessing that means it might warm up some, otherwise wouldn't it be snow?
Hope everyone is staying warm and just remember- it's less than 2 months 'til the first day of spring!

Good Morning Everyone...

Just stopping in to say hi and because I forgot to congratulate Christine on her BUCS victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day!!!
