My dh and I will be traveling with 3 kids, 11mos, 2 yo, and 4yo and grandparents in September 1-8? Wondering which resort is a better choice? Would love to get some opinions! Thanks.:lmao:

This trip we are doing a split stay between CR and BC so I have been in your place. Last year we went with CR over BC with a 3.5 and 2 year old and we were so glad we did. We loved being able to walk to MK since it was the park we spent the most time at. I am looking forward to trying to be in the Epcot area but honestly the convenience of the CR cannot be beat with young kids.

I haven't stayed at YC, but we stayed at CR earlier this year and it was GREAT as far as getting to/from Magic Kingdom. Most days, we just walked to MK as it was quicker than taking the Monorail. Also, very nice when we had to go in for a late nap before dinner to regroup with our DD3, then head back out for the night.

thanks for the input...i've been weighing a pro and con list all night and keep coming back to the CR because of the proximity to MK with small childen(and strollers). Kinda dreading the idea of getting stuck on a crowded bus with a sleepy child over my shoulder;)
I do like the look of the YC pool and the thought that we could walk over to the BW in the evenings for some activity.

I have stayed at BC twice (sister resort to YC) and just stayed at the CR this spring.

CR walk to MK is sooo nice! The monorail isn't worth it (aside from the experience) as it makes 3 stops before going to MK.
But the CR lacks the charm of the BC/BW area. CR seemed borderline shabby - by this I mean it was showing it's age (but is was clean!). CR is supposed to be modern right? So I just think that by it showing its age went against its theme, whereas the BC/YC have that 1920s seaside feel to them...so any wear and tear goes along with the theme if that makes sense.
Bonus is you can watch wishes from the 4th floor viewing area at the CR (music is piped in).

With the YC...you will be a 10 min walk from Epcot. You can take a boat to HS or walk (probably 20min or so). You can also walk 10ish minutes to the BW.

I am torn...as a resort I like the BC better (just b/c of its charm) and the pool is great there. Since you have young kids the MK is prob the best park to be close to. For us when MK had EMH to 2a it was so nice to walk back.

Just some more thoughts for you.

With kids those ages, I'd pick CR. We love the CR. I don't find it shabby at all. I love clean lines and I hate clutter, so maybe that sways my opinion a bit.

Yes, it's 3 stops to the MK on the monorail, but it's better to walk. And on the way back, it's the first stop. So in my book that's a win/win.

The pool at BC/YC is just too overwhelming for me when I'm with my kids. I think it's better for independent swimmers or parents who will be in the water at all times with their kids, holding hands. The pool at CR is smaller, and the entire area can be seen from most vantage points. I find it 100 times easier to manage than a larger pool with lots of decorations and features. There's a nice waterside for your oldest and a splash zone for your youngest.

Also at CR, you'll have Chef Mickey for the kids, Cali Grill for the adults and I like The Wave for the entire family. And you can hop on the monorail to the other monorail resorts for dinner and/or take a boat to WL.

We did change our reservation from the YC to the CR. I'm thinking that the proximity to MK will be worth the change and the use of the monorail to Epcot also. I'm trying to avoid the bus except when I have no other choice! I was looking forward to experiencing the YC and it's charm-but hoping the CR will live up to the hype!

If chosing between these two, my decision would come down to what park(s) I planned on visiting or liked more.

If my answer was Magic Kingdom, I would pick Contemporary. If I answered Epcot and/or Hollywood Studios, I'd chose Yacht Club.
