Are the rooms/service different? Thanks!

I have heard that some people find BC more causal. I think that one has small or no balconies at some of its rooms(BC?) One is closer to Epcot.

The rooms are slightly different in style, colors - see pics on attached link...

The buildings and entrances are separate. Service is no different and restaurants are shared between resorts, although the Yacht Club Galley and the Yachtsman Steakhouse are in the YC building. It has its own store, but the pool area (Stormalong Bay) is shared between the resorts. And the BC is the blue building and the YC is the one in gray!

I'd have to second the more casual thing. We stayed at YC in November and thought the lobby of BC looked more fun and family oriented everytime we went through it. If we stayed here again I think I'd book BC instead of YC. I didn't notice anything different about services but we haven't stayed at BC yet.

YC = Yacht Club while BC = Beach Club! :rotfl:

j/k

YC feels more like a men's club while BC feels like someone's beach house. BC is closer to Epcot but YC is closer to the boat dock. YC gets dropped off first on the bus route and BC gets dropped off later.

YC has Yachtsman Steakhouse, BC has Cape May & Beaches & Cream

BC is closer to the hot tub at Stormalong Bay and I feel it's closer to the slide too.

I checked out the pictures..thanks! I think the rooms are prettier (to me) in the YC, but I want to be closer to Epcot..wow, hard decision..they both look great..anyone have more opinions please?

We so love the YC, it's our favorite resort and we stay here every time we go to Disney, which is a lot. One of the biggest differences between the two resorts is that there are not a lot of balconies over at the BC and I don't like staying in the room without one. I love sitting out in the am having coffee and reading the paper before my kids were up and when they were little we would sit out here and talk while they went to sleep. I also really prefer the feel and decor of the YC, but that's just a personal thing.

We've stayed at either YC or BC for the past several years. We've finally decided, after going back and forth, that we like the Yacht Club best. Yes, it is a little bit farther from Epcot than the BC is, but when it's really hot, we still enter the BC at it's closest entrance (through the gate) and continue through the BC, winding our way through the lobby and then outside only long enough to go past SAB and B&C, then inside the YC and up to our room. If it isn't that hot out, we just continue down the walkway and in the entrance to YC. It really doesn't take that much longer either way, but the kids (and us) just love that first burst of a/c on a 100 degree August day.

As for the boat dock, yep, it's closer to YC, again it's not very far from either. The BC does have a more informal feel, due largely in part (I think) to people waiting for seatings at Cape May. Most of the time, people don't really have that much of a wait for Yachtsman's. Thus, no one is really sitting around right outside the restaurant, plus, the entrance to the restaurants at YC are a bit further down the hallway from the main lobby, not right in the main lobby like Cape May at BC. Now, I will say, the solarium at BC is awesome and can be very peaceful and quiet, um..... unless there are 12-15 kids playing board games and card games like we saw last time. Even then, it's great that they had such a nice place to do so, so we just went to relax in another quiet area (I'm not telling where... it's our secret) :cloud9: .

Much larger gift shop (especially since the renovations at Atlantic Wear) at BC than at YC, but you can still get soda and such at YC's.

It all comes down to personal preference. Both are lovely resorts and both will be very enjoyable. I guess if you really wanted to compare you could split your stay...I've never heard of anyone splitting it between the two, but, hey, it's Disney World, anything goes :teeth: . Hope you enjoy your stay whichever you decide on!

Just something to keep in mind, the BC does see more traffic because of the villas. We find the YC to be a little quieter. Not a big deal but if you're interested in quiet try the YC instead. Other than the decor they are basically the same.

YC is a bit quieter (especially in the lobby area). There are just as many kids there as at BC, but with the location of Cape May (which seems to be more open to the lobby than Yacht Club Galley at YC) and the very popular character breakfast they have there, it always seems to be a little louder and more hectic at BC.

Yes, BC is closer to Epcot than YC. But, the difference is a couple hundred yards at most, so it does not make a huge difference in the overall scheme of things.

We prefer the YC, but both resorts are wonderful.
