not to try and gross anyone out around meal time, but does anybody else find the choice of "Yak" in the name a bit odd for a restaurant. Maybe it's just me or the area i am from, I realize they are referring to the animal, but I've always associated this with a slang term for someone being sick???:confused3

I think it's an odd choice! As another diser (BeadPirate) called it The YAKING YETI!!!!! :lmao:

I think it's all about the context....I never even considered the "alternative" meaning of yak until you mentioned it! Given it's location, my mind immediately went to the animal.

You aren't the only one who thought it was weird. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during the meeting when they picked the name. I wounder what they decided against:confused3

I am thinking in Nepal there is not the American slang for Yak that there is here. :rotfl2:

Very odd that no one on that meeting had the thought of yakking when they came up with the name. Wonder how long it will remain the yak(ing) yeti :rolleyes1 (and I am loving that phrase! We have been calling it yak ^ yeti to go!)
