yahtsman has a dress code???

I'll be dining at Jiko 10/1 and CG 10/7, and will report back.

Have you made your ADRs, Anne? I'm hoping someone who is still calling in can report on what they're told. Looking forward to your research. :sunny:

In practice, I imagine it will vary as it always has.

Enjoy your dinners. We're not too far behind you although I don't think I have Jiko scheduled this trip. And I better hurry up and schedule my manicure/pedicure. ;)

Wife-beater shirts refer to the ribbed sleeveless white tees that men normally wear under button-down business shirts to prevent sweat stains from forming on good shirts. It's "true" purpose is to be worn underneath business attire, and thus not meant to be "worn out". :rotfl: However, I guess some people are mistaken...

Jailin' Jeans is the practice of wearing saggy jeans so low such that your underwear (or *** crack!) shows.

Thanks for that Aliki :) Thought it might refer to the muscle type vest/t-shirts.

Yes, the CG has been booked for a couple months, it's DH's birthday. Jiko is with some girlfriends from NJ who will be in town, they took care of it all.

OMG! I forgot to call her--we've been playing phone tag all week--need a manicure this weekend!

What a shame, Leota!

Interesting news, mrslur.

Now we just need someone to do a little research. :listen: All my ADRs are made for this trip otherwise I'd volunteer to call.

Tonight im eating at Citricos (not sure if that was on the dress code list) but it has been Pouring here today so Im not sure what people will be wearing or looking like :rotfl:
Saturday will be Yachtsman and Sunday is Flying Fish..I will report back next week. ;) (if not earlier)

Citrico's has probably the most restrictive dress code of all WDW except V&A's. The written dress code I've been given requests collared shirt for men with slacks, and pants outfit or dress for women. We saw people get turned away a couple months ago--they were in tank tops and shorts.

It's a very elegant, semi-formal atmosphere. My DH usually wears a sports coat to dine there. The last time we were there it was 100 degrees out, and he wore a long sleeved polo with linen tailored slacks. I wore a dress.

Uhh ohh then I was a baaad girl! I wore jeans and a nice top, ;) I actually wasn't out of place...there were others dressed the same, but mostly in nice tops/ collared shirts and khaki shorts.

The Cinderellabration dessert was AWESOME!!

Tomorrow night is Yachtsman!

BAD Stacey. Double BAAAAD!!!
However--seems yet another "unenforced" code. Tank-tops (on men anyway) have generally been unacceptable, so obviously it weren't the shorts that got those folks (reported by Ducklite) turned away.

Happy dining, Stacey. You too Mrs. and uncleromulus. You must be getting close to your trip. :cool1:

Citricos is the same as the other places with so called business casual. "Business" shorts are acceptable and common in warmer months. When we dined there in May almost every man was wearing nice shorts and collared polo type shirts. There was one table of business men in jackets and slacks....probably straight from a meeting.

in July and wore our regular park clothes and were happily admitted!

I made an ADR for Yachtsman yesterday and the CM didn't mention anything about dress code. We'll be going straight from Epcot to dinner, but I'll try to remember to put everyone in khaki shorts and polos that morning.

We don't own any "wife beater" tank tops and although DH has lost 25 lbs. I do require him to wear a belt to prevent his pants from sliding down. ;)

Ah, our first piece of research is in. ;) Thanks for the report.

tee hee hee, yup that is me!!
All of the shorts were "nice" ones, although I did see one family in WDW Tee shirts but Khaki shorts.

No Tank tops at all.

We have decided to skip Yachtsman tonight and go to Kona, but Flying Fish is still on the agenda for tomorrow!

We made ADR's 2 days ago for most of the restaurants that have a reported dress code. This was not mentioned for any of them. I like to get dressed for dinner though so would usually go back to the resort first to shower and change anyway.

Thanks for the report, Danauk.

We return to the resort in the afternoon and change for dinner too. But it is good to know that apparently they are no longer telling people business casual only to not enforce it in the restaurants.

Kona tonight, Stacey. :cool1: Lucky you.

We ate at YSH on 9/16...dh wore khaki shorts and a polo striped knit shirt...I wore a blue jean skirt and a summer sweater....ds (10) wore cargo shorts and a knit t-shirt (no printing on it)...dd's both wore knit summer dresses. We went straight from a full-day at Epcot to the restaurant...I did notice they put most/all the families with young children in the wing part of the restaurant...and kept the main dining area free of children. Our children loved the restaurant and our server was very accomodating with them.

Enjoy!!! We LOVED eating here.

Flying Fish was tonight! For those of you that are on the Dining Pictures thread, I got lots of pics of food for it!
We were taking pictures tonight and our waiter noticed and he told the Chef (Tony) who came over, we took his picture and he chatted with us for a bit and gave us his card.

Onto the business at hand....everyone was dressed nicely, I only saw one pair of jean shorts, but she had on a nice shirt and her napkin was covering her shorts mostly....there were even some nice dresses in the house...mostly collared shirts and khaki pants or shorts for the men and nice tops and nice shorts on the ladies.

We saw a few in Tee's and they weren't being turned away but most followed the code.

Very nice place!
