Get me prepared. I want to take my husband there a VERY deserving father on fathers day (he is a stay at home dad). We can't leave the kids at the WL care center because my youngest is 2 1/2. We'll have our 2 1/2 and 5 year old in tow, I am a little worried about them,but want this meal for them. Will it be o.k.?? Lie to me! Is the food as good as I think it will be? Any help would be great, I am looking forward to this meal for my husband (o.k. and for me too : )

Had a great meal over christmas 05 with DH and DS(15). Decor is upscale, but there were kids there. Great service and food was wonderful. We had filet mignon(DS,DH) and I had NY Strip all were done to perfection. DS and I split mussel appetizer which was fantastic and DH had Caesar salad. I had amazing cheesecake and DS had strawberry ice cream. It was one of the best meals we had that week. We had never been there(over many trip since 1994) and would definitely return.

Yachtsman is one of my favorite restaurants. Kids are more than welcome and I found the atmosphere very quiet even with the kids there. I wouldn't worry about it that much. I thought the food was excellent and don't pass up the garlic spread for the bread.

I have dined there 3 times in the past 2 years and everything has always been wonderful.
We have seen kids of all ages there and didn't see a problem with them.

IF you are worried about your children's behavior, you could book an early dinner (opens at 5:30pm) and request being seated in the back (near the fireplace). This back section is usually the last area to fill up, and you could be well secluded from the other diners, if you so desire.

My son was 3 the first time he ate there. He's 5 now. He's a typical "give me chicken fingers and french fries and all is right with the world" kind of guy. He actually likes YSH's chicken fingers and fries better than most. He told me they were really good so I tried one and he was right. They also have a Mickey's dessert puzzle with colored "paint" icing that comes with a cupcake that kept him busy all through our desserts. It was wonderful. Even my husband said that whoever came up with the dessert puzzle idea was a genius!!
