Hello! We will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan and we are trying to decide between Artist Point and Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner one night. This will be our 2nd trip to Disney - and on our first trip this past May we ate at Yachtsman and loved it. The food was great, the service was outstanding, etc. However, Artist Point looks really good also.

Any suggestions? (We also plan to dine at Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, and Flying Fish as well.)

This is just my personal taste, but I think Yachtsmans is much more elegant. The crisp white tablecloths with beautifully set tables just win me over. Also, to me, the service seems a little more formal. Also, some of the dishes on the menu, such as chateaubriand, are a little more upscale. Again, this is just my opinion, but Artist Point, while I have eaten there and enjoyed myself, just seems a bit more casual to me, both in atmosphere, menu and service.

Personally, I preferred Artist Point. I agree with the previous poster that it is a bit more relaxed but that's probably why I prefer it. Looking at your other dining plans, it seems as if you'll be dinng at a lot of upscale, more "formal" restaurants so Artist Point may be a good opportunity for good service, atmosphere and food with a slightly more laid back experience.

Although I prefer Yachtsman over Artist Point, there are probably an equal number of people who would pick the other way around. And I think it's fun to try new places so that you can pick your own favorites. Another point to consider is that Artist Point offers some dishes that you can't find anywhere else at WDW.

We have eaten at both restaurants on most of our trips and I find them to be very different experiences.

Yachtsman - tables are closer together but not crowded. Room feels warmer with booths and tables. Excellent staff. The menu is what you would expect from a high end steak house like Ruth's Chris

Artist Point - large room with high ceilings, the large windows are dark (after sunset) and reflective, tables are set far apart except some of the tables for 2 are back to back to back, ask for a window seat for more privacy. Excellent staff. The menu is more exotic and new american than Yachtsman - bison, cedar plank salmon, etc. They have excellent wine pairings available.

I find Yachtsman to be the more relaxing and less formal, perhaps it is the stiff chairs at AP ...
