Just made a reservation for yachtsmans. We plan to head there right from the park for dinner then return to the park after dinner. Was wonder our wearing shorts be ok? DH will be in a collared shirt with khaki shorts and I will be in a dressy looking Minnie Mouse polka dot shirt with skimmer jean shorts. They wouldn't refuse us our dinner reservation for these outfits right? This is our arrival day and don't want to go back to the room to change.

Yachtsman steakhouse is a Signature restaurant with a requested dress code. I do not believe you will be denied service. Your husband sounds fine. But I would never go with jean shorts even fancy jean shorts. We always freshen up before Signature dinners.

They probably won't turn you away. But you will probably feel a bit out of place. My husband wore something similar to your husband, our daughter wore a cream and gold dress and I wore a knee length silk dress.

When we went my husband wore dockers /kakhi type shorts and a polo type shirt and was it was fine. I had a nice pair of shorts on and it was no problem, what you are planning on wearing is fine. :D we go in August and we were not the only ones dressed as such.

I think you'll be fine. The dress code is essentially: No swimwear, tank tops (for men), cutoffs, ripped/torn clothing, or apparel with vulgar or inappropriate language or symbols. It's very common to see folks coming straight from the parks wearing what they've had on all day. You're welcome to spruce up, but you won't be turned away.

Thanks everyone! DH convinced me to wear my minnie mouse sundress for the day. I'm the typed that doesn't like to usually dress up so don't have much clothing choices at home. :o

When we went last year, we put our dinner clothes in a backpack, checked it at DHS, and then freshened up in the ladies/gent lounges at Yachtclub pre-dinner.

I wore nice shorts last year, came from the park. It was a last-minute reservation though, and I wasn't staying on site. I felt bad, but did realize a lot of the folks were dressed pretty similarly. I would have dressed up a bit though if given the choice.

While I personally wouldn't wear shorts to any of the resort signatures, I see others doing so all the time, so you'll be fine. Don't worry about it.

I wore shorts to FF last year in March bc we went straight from the park & so did my friend. No questions so I'd think you'd be fine either way.

I've worn shorts every summer we eat there. I have for years and years now. No one minds. I see no problem with it. In the winter I usually wear jeans or pants if it's cooler but even when we r staying over beach club I still go in shorts cause it's too hot.
