Yachtsman or Palio?

If you were celebrating your anniversary in WDW and getting a night out without the kids, would you choose Palio or Yachtsman for dinner? I was pretty much set on Yachtsman but now that our 90 day mark is approaching Im having second thoughts.
Any opinions?

Hi CamColt! We were seriously thinking about having an adult dinner away from the guys next trip, and as I researched the restaurants in the Boardwalk area, I settled on Palio. From everything I read, it sounds like it's very romantic and quiet there, and that's exactly what we were looking for!

Well--the food is different between Palio and YSH, but for atmosphere mostly, I'd go with Palio.
Since you'll be w/o kids that night, Palio will likely have fewer children than YSH. At least that's been our experience in these two places over the years.

Hi Cam. Defrinately go for Palio's. DH and I celebrated our 28th there last October and it was awsome, romantic an the food was fabulos. A great anniversary destination IMHO.

Oh boy, here I was all set on Yachtsman, now you guys are swaying me. I have a few more days to decide.

I have never been to the Yachtsman, but for an anniversary dinner I would give Palio the thumbs up.
The food and atmosphere are top notch, and as an added bonus there are strolling minstrels on guitar and mandolin that come by your table and will play anything you request. They are two retired brothers that have been playing there for something like 14 years. I would definitely recommend it.

PS - If you save room for dessert, the tiramisu is simply to die for.

I love Yachtsmen! I think it's very adult like and romantic in there, especially if you get the front window tables.
We have sepnt many an anniversary there.
My most favorite romantic spot is Jiko! They even had a card signed by the staff upon arrival!
We haven't had good luck at Palios.

We haven't eaten at Palio, so this won't be a fair vote, but we loved the Yachtsman!! The atmosphere was very grown-up, IMO, and our waiter was gracious and attentive, but not overly so. The food was delicious, we can't wait to try it again!

MPALIO - definitely better atmosphere and some great Italian dishes you may not prepare at home but enjoy having! Have fun! MamaQuack

We just ate at both and I would say Palio also. The stolling violinist is wonderful, the atmosphere is great, great wines, nice selections (we are both Italian and very picky about Italian food), etc.

The Yachtsman was nice as well, great atmosphere, and when I told the server it was our 6th wedding anniversary, she gave me a rose and us some complimentary cookies for dessert with "Happy Anniversay" written on the plate in chocolate. That said, I think I paid about $35 for an extremely tough and fatty steak (cooked meduim rare, so it wasn't the temp. that caused it). My husband had the same problem with his. We are steak people and were disappointed in the quality for the money. But if you rarely eat or go out for steak, you will probably love it.

But I still remain partial to Palio. Enjoy no matter where you choose!

Did you send it back or complain? I have been several times and frequent great steakhouses. Also in the restaurant business. I have never had a bad steak at YS. I know for a fcat they serve first quality meats. I have talked to the chef on many occasions. I'm sure if someone had a bad steak he would have liked to have heard about it.
