I've read a lot about the available views at some of the other resorts, but I don't have a good handle on the available views at Yacht Club. What might a standard view look at? Are there "good" standard views? If you pay extra for a view at YC, what are you looking out at?

From what I have heard, standard can mean either parking lot or garden views. Parking lot is obvious. The garden view is where it gets tricky. Some garden views, I believe, look over the tennis court and some over the gazebo.

We jusr returned and had a water view booked. When we checked in DH asked if we could have the perfect room-one that had a view of the Boardwalk but was also close to everything. We got it! It was room 2161, just up the steps and around the corner, down a short hall from the lobby. It had a beautiful view of the lake, marina, lighthouse/boat dock and the Boardwalk. We felt it was well worth the extra $$ we spent on the water view. I think a water view can include a view of the quiet pool though but I'm not sure aout that.

We had a water view once. It was the only thing available and while the view was fantastic, I usually only book a garden or standard view at any of the deluxes. To top if off we went on the balcony, lst floor and there were cigarette butts everywhere. Also we thought we were getting a day bed and it ended up being a rollaway. Then they charged us for it. It was taken off the bill at check out. We inquired then why there was no day bed. They said when you checked in early that was all that was available. The room did turn out to be a long and inconvenient walk to everything with 3 kids and its definetely more quiet for adults and compared to beach club which is more geared to kids. DH wanted to stay there so he was happy. I wouldnt choose it again. I think the swan is much more romantic etc. and lots cheaper. Hope you enjoy the view. If its not crowded when you are there and you dont like the view see if they can move you if you ask politely.
With our view it was directly across to the boarwalk etc. Very beautiful but all the way at the end of the resort it seemed.
