I just upgraded my DVR to one with over 300 hours (well, only 50 of hd), and I figure I'll need every one of them! Bring it on!

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE OLYMPICS!!!!
I love watching them and get very emotional during the opening ceremony, something about watching people march in proudly representing their country. I have a vision board..inspired by Oprah... and I have a picture of the olympic rings b/c I want to attend an opening ceremony so badly.

I love Quatchi. The 3 mascots are McDonalds Happy Meal Toys in Canada only, I had a friend of mine go and collect them all and mail them to me.

I love the medals. They are each unique and part of a larger native mural of an orca. It really does represent our region quite well.

I like them also, it's nice that they're unique.

Just read the Sports Illustrated Olympic preview issue. The editors are picking Canada to win the Men and Women gold medal for hockey.

Look for Lindsey Vonn to be the Michael Phelps for NBC.

I heard some people complaining about Sports Illustrated turning her into a sex object with that pose on the front cover. Personally I dont see anything wrong with it.

Anyone remember that women's snowboard cross chick who did the little heel-grab trick over the final hill while she was clearly oodles ahead of the competition and then FELL on the landing, giving up the medal to another boarder who was way behind her?

Wonder if she made the team this year? I swear I was so mad at that back then, I almost reached through the screen and smacked her upside the head. Then again, I imagine the disappointment and anger she felt for herself far outweighs any I could toss her way.

It's so sad when athletes work/wait their entire lives for that chance and then to miss or fall or trip or anything that falls short of perfection = heartbreak.

Absolutely...heartbreaking. Actually I was mad at her because she KNEW she had the medal in the bag. She was so far ahead of the rest of the field, that literally there was NO chance of anyone catching her, and she did some stupid "showboat" maneuver like 100 yards from the finish line (woo-hoo...look at meeeeeee....I'm SO awesome...I'm the winner!) and fell. Then she tried to lie to everybody, including Bob Costas in a live interview, that it wasn't showboating...that she was trying to "steady" the snowboard. Later she admitted it was her boneheaded immature showboating.

I think I remember them showing the biathlon in 2002, or at least I remember watching it. I know it was on live during the day on a day I called in "sick" to work. I thought it was really interesting. I'm SO flippin' glad I work from home now; I will be ALL OLYMPICS, ALL THE TIME until they end. I don't care how obscure the sport, I'm on it!

I always said that cold weather sports combined two things I hate the most..COLD...and physical activity. But when it comes to the Olympics (winter and Summer) I bleed red white and blue for 16 days. It's the pageantry and competition I love.
