We will be staying in Kissimmee over the Xmas/New Year period in a Villa. Anyone have any advice about Xmas Day. Where to go, best places to eat? Are restaurants, shops open? Everything closes in the UK, is it the same in the US? I know the Parks are open is there anything extra special on the day in any park.....I'm rambling, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

We were there last xmas (at the parks, stayed onsite) and had a ball. We went to whatever park was early entry (can't remember now) and had dinner at Calfornia Grille.. it was wonderful. They had a special xmas dinner and 3 seating for the day (we were at the 6pm one). Had a corner table and could see MK from there. Saw the lights coming on as things got dark (later seatings, I hear, see the fire works). We took the monorail to the Grand Floridian to see the big gingerbread house (and to see the lights along the monorail ride) and then to MK. Actually wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be..

Most of the restaurants in Kissimmee will be open on xmas day. Most of them on 192. All of WDW and US will be open. If you choose to eat on Disney property I strongly recommend making a PS before you arrive. This can be done 90-120 days out. If you wait and want to eat at a disney restaurant your choices will be extremely limited, such as fast food.
