X-mas Decorations at WDW

We are thinking of going to Disney from Tues Dec 28-Tues Jan 4. Although we have been to Disney before, we never have been at x-mas.

Does anyone know when they start taking the decorations down; would we miss the decorations? I called disney and they said that they start taking them down Jan 1 but we were just at disney last week and a CM at the concierge desk at PC told us they are up 2-3 weeks after x-mas day. My mom really wants to see disney decorated so I dont know what to believe?

They start dropping fast Jan. 3-4.

Last year they stayed up longer than usual - reportedly due to the really bad cold snap making it difficult to take everything down - but typically they start coming down quickly shortly after New Years.
