X factor taping

Just wondering if anyone has gone to be part of the X Factor audience during auditions? Is it worth it? How early did you arrive?? How long did it actually last? The tickets were free, train will be $23.00 each X 4 for round triip. I am hesitant because it states if you are turned away you can possibly get new tickets within 48 hours which would be useless because they are only in NJ for 2 days. I keep going back and forth about going. Hoping someone may have gone in Dallas or another venue to give me some insight...
