Just finished last night's programmes.

Anyone got any favourites that they would like to see winning?

Haven't seen last night's yet......plan on watching them later. But I've seen the final 12 in today's paper. I like the Conway Sisters and Brenda Edwards (the girl who dived across the desk to give Simon a kiss at the audition!!)

:teeth:

I think either Shane or Andy will win. I can't believe Sharon put Chico through at the expense of one of the others. He's a great entertainer but he can't sing for toffee.

ETA you don't hear much from last year's winner, do you?

Yes, i have to agree with you Wilma, i also think Louis was listening to different contestants than me cos the 2 wee 16 year old boys (cant remember their names)were much better than the others, i think he put them out just because of their age and thats not right, if they allow 16 year old kids to audition and let them through to the semi finals then he shouldn't say they maybe cant handle the pressure, maybe they should put the age up for auditions

Audrey.

I agree, I thought Louis made a big mistake not putting the boys thru, the one with glasses (cant remember his name) should definately have gone thru. I didnt think the Irish lad should have thru, he didnt seem anything special. As for Chico he should never have been put thru, hes just a joke!

I do think Trevor should have gone through - he's the one with the glasses but both DH and I thought James, the other 16 year old had a really nasal voice and I think Louie made the right decision where he was concerned.

I also thought, on the strength of her performance in Hollywood, Haifer should have gone through - she did a really good version of that song (Higher and Higher I think it was called).

i was gutted when louis didn't put Trevor through, for such a young guy he has the most amazing voice.

I think too that Trevor has an amazing voice..... but there are other considerations in putting a 16 year old through. Those two boys I think were only just 16 years old. James in particular was particularly immature/young. Personally, I thought that James was a very mediocre singer (actually Im not that impressed with any of them!)

However, they could be the best singers in the planet and still not be mature enough to take the pressure of a live show every week. Same with Hiafer. Yes she has an amazing voice and we saw her on Pop Idol so we feel for her as this is her 2nd time around.. BUT she messed up virtually every audtion that she did. if she cant take this pressure... then imagine what it would be like during the live final.

I am interested to see how they all do next week.
I am a singer myself, so its interesting to see how they will cope with the pressure!!

For me the best is Shanae (?sp) - great voice and looks. I was very glad Haifa didn't get through - she was flat, couldn't cope with the big song she was given and her whole image was very dated.

Shane will be getting my vote, he's fantastic. I couldn't believe that Sharon put Chico through, he is truly awful, Richie should have had his place.

I didn't think that Addictive Ladies were that great - but Chico was the one who should have gone last night.
I voted for Andy last night - and I also liked Shane, Brenda and Journey South.

Who did you vote for??

I like Chenyie (sp). I don't think Addictive ladies were all that great but they were certainly better than Chico. I think Louis just voted them off to get back at Simon because it was quite obvious that he didn't like Chico either.

Hope the judges are not going to vote tit-for-tat because at the end of the day the only people that will suffer are the contestants.

After last night's performance, I'm rooting for Andy all the way. His rendition of Greatest Love of All had me in tears last night. At first I was cringing because I really hate the song but he was fantastic.

Totally agree, Louis was definately getting back at Simon, he was smiling at him when he said it!!! I thought that the girls would have gotten better given the chance!

I thought Brenda, Andy and Shane were all fantastic! Louis def chose the wrong songs for his people, they were really outdated, at least Simon admitted he made a mistake!

i though brenda and andy were really good. shane too was excellent. but......

im backing journey south as the're from boro. supporting the local lads + they were good. i have to say though there is something strangely fabulous about phillip (i think is his name) dont know what it is but he has something.

personally i wasnt keen on the 2 16yr olds who didnt get through. and i though addictiv lady's were flat last night, even my dd7 commented on it. i didnt like chico either though so i wasnt bothered who went out of them both.

i noticed that the judges werent commenting enough on the vocal performances. the comments were more based on personality or song choice. no one said good strong vocals or totally out of tune of in simon cowells own words "distinctly average"

haha

cant wait for next week.

love lucy

DS's think Chico is the best thing since sliced bread.....they've been singing 'Do you think I'm sexy' all day, and trying to copy his dance moves........:rotfl2:

Oh dear Cath... poor you!!!

I thought they were average..

Andy did the best.. but even he looked awkward. ALL of them other than Andy sang safe songs that didnt stretch them at all.

disappointing... is that REALLY the best they can do out of 50,000 people!?

SHocking really!
