We're scheduled to stay at the Wyndham Resort this April 2004 (DH has a conference there). I read on this site that it is an "official Walt Disney World Resort" and that it has complimentary transportation to WDW theme parks. A few questions for you "in the know":

1. Is the transportation the same as the WDW transportation buses? Is there a WDW bus for the Wyndham -- I never noticed it before.

2. Do Wyndham guests participate in EE, or Extra Magic Hour?

3. Can Wyndham guests "charge" purchases at the park (e.g., souvenirs and food) back to their rooms on their room key?

4. Can Wyndham guests participate in E-Nites?

Anything else you'd like to tell me about the Wyndham would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Wyndham Palace is a nice resort.

It is not a WDW resort. You cannot get EMH, but you can do Enights. They have their own bus system. It does not drop you off at MK, but at the TTC. You can't charge to the room except for your hotel purchases. It is located right across the street from Downtown Disney Marketplace.

The Wyndham Palace is a beautiful hotel--we stayed there for our honeymoon 3 years ago and loved it. Our room overlooked DTD and we could see Illuminations at Epcot every night.

Having said that, the transportation from DTD resorts leaves much to be desired. As Deb posted, these resorts use their own bus system. When we stayed there, we used to walk across the street to the Market Place and use Disney's "official" transportation (we didn't know that we weren't technically allowed, oops! :) ). However, Disney discontinued it's bus routes from DTD to all 4 theme parks due to the large number of day guests parking at DTD for free and bussing to the theme parks. We did use the DTD resorts buses once to get to the TTC, and it was a very slow process, we stopped at every DTD resort in the loop. If you're considering renting a car IMO, it would be worth it.

Arthur's 27 is a nice, romantic restaurant on the 27th floor of the hotel--I would recommend eating here once, although it is somewhat pricey, I believe along the lines of Albert and Victoria's. The view of DTD and Epcot is incredible, they may serve drinks and appetizers if you would like to experience the view, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

The pool area was also very nice, very large and spread out. It was one large pool, then it went into a small "cave" with a waterfall and it opened into another pool area inside. There was also a hot tub there.

Have a great time, hope I helped you!

I stayed here a couple of years ago for a conference I was attending. I liked it very much.
I suggest that you or your dh join the Wyndham program - Wyndham By Request

They have a great program (like the Starwood Preferred Guest) it is free to join and you get some extra stuff like high speed internet, etc. If you are staying there as part of a group you are still eligible (as long as the reservation was not made through Priceline, etc) and you have to have joined prior to your stay and make sure that you notifiy the hotel that you are a member too.

Good luck!

I am going to move this to the Orlando Area resorts forum, where you my get more responses.

You've gotten some good responses about the Wyndham Palace Resort. We stayed there years ago and liked it very much.
Also, you are now in the Dis Yearbook! ;)
The Yearbook is on the Community Board and your yearbook picture is on page 56. :)
