Hi guys, I am thinking of switching my reservation from The Fountains resort, to Bonnet Creek. Because it is a 60 day advance reservation it will save me almost $350, and with the Cdn dollar taking a dive, save where I can. Bonnet Creek and The Fountains, seem very similar, just different locations. I am curious if anyone has rented from a private owner from Bonnet Creek before? Also, anyone deal with Ken Price before, he has been wonderful so far with correspodence with me. Just thought I would put it out there before I go ahead and do it, to see if anyone has any info. Or stayed at both resorts, which they liked better.
Thanks in advance!

I have not rented from Ken Price but I have talked to him before and I would trust him with my rental. He seems like a great guy!!

I have stayed at Bonnet Creek and I thought it was nice. There is construction still going on at the resort which bothers some people. However, I was able to see both wishes and Illuminations (high fireworks) from my balcony at Bonnet Creek. I don't know anything about the Fountains.

I am renting from Ken in January. I got several refereals off this board and called Wyndham directly and they had good things to say. He has been very responsive and helpful. I am very confident my rental will go smoothly.

How is the scheduled transportation to the wdw parks from this resort?

I love Bonnet Creek. I have rented several times from a Wyndham owner who I completely trust. If you are interested I can PM you her email.

Ken Price is great. We rented from him in June, and I've just reserved the Presidential Suite for Thanksgiving '09 with him. He is very professional, trust-worthy and the nicest guy. :) He has a great reputation from everything I've read about him as well.

Lucky'smom,
Thank you for that. Is there anything else you can tell me about the place, the pools, how long they are open for. I heard 24hrs, somewhere. We are going in Feb, and my kids will swim unless it is really cold. Coming from Northern Ontario, anything seems warmer. Any other info you can share would be great.
Thanks

The pools are really nice. They are on opposite sides of the resort, but it's not a long walk from pool to pool. We were near the pool that's between bldgs 2 and 3. It wasn't real big, but had a pool slide and a pool bar where you could also get some food items. The pools were not open 24hrs, I think the one by us closed at 10 pm. The other pool near the Village bldg (main bldg) was our favorite. It has a zero-depth entry, was larger and there was also a lazy river and water spray area for the kids. The game room and billiards were there as well. Food and drinks are also available there. There was live music one time (a guy with a guitar playing beach music). BC has free kids activities on the lawn btwn the Village bldg and bldg 1. Some things you can pay for, like making t-shirts, etc. The very best part of BC is the location! I love that "on-site" feel. The entrance is actually on WDW property. It was just minutes to the parks, like 5 minutes to DHS and Epcot. We loved it, and will be back!

rental fees will probably go up now that wyndham has increased the guest certificate fee to 129$ effective October 15 2008

perhaps your renters still has "free" gc but that is changing too evidently ...wyndham has caught on to the huge rental market ....they might as well cash in with the 129 fee

Does anyone know if Ken Price rents any other properties (Wyndham or others) in the Orlando area?

I am looking for a couple nights early January but due to the sinking Canadian $ am trying to keep my costs low and thinking B. Creek will probably be out of my budget.

Just returned from a vacation renting from Ken Price. Everything went smoothly and he was very professional. My children are ages 11 and 9. They enjoyed evey aspect of all the pools, arcade, golf and water slide. Resort staff will try to entice you to take a tour by offering cheap tickets.

Cheap tickets can be a good thing, just bear in mind that Wyndham Bonnet resales sell for 95-98% below what the salesmen will quote you as a price. So take the tickets but don't, under any circumstances, buy from them.

Ken also rents at Star Island in Lake Buena Vista, but I doubt you'll beat the BC price. I believe it's only $99/night for a 2 bedroom value season at BC now. I only paid $120/night for June (less than 60 days out). It's such a great value.:thumbsup2

We stayed at BC the first full week in Oct. We had a pres suite in Tower 5. We couldn't have been more pleased. The unit was beautiful. We had construction right next to us and never heard anything. The pool did close nightly - 10 sounds right. There was a shuttle - we rode it two nights. It was on time. We drove most days and it was very close. There were 9 of us - 6 adults and 3 kids. We asked for a fireworks view - our unit looked out towards the parks - saw the fireworks every night. And, we didn't get hassled at all during the week with sales presentations or setting up meetings. All in all, very very pleased.

All of these replies are great. We have talked to Ken, and have decided between him and I, that we will wait til the 60 days, (Dec 7th) and he will check for the space then, and if it is available then we will book through him, and cancel the Fountains. We only have to give 72 hours notice with no penalty there. I don't want to book through Ken at full price of $180/night, then he can't get the discounted rate, and I have cancelled my other ressie. Does this sound sensible to everyone? I am curious as to what the presidential suites would cost as well!

What does the presidential suite go for????
It depends on when, and from whom you are renting. In general, the 4BR-P units cost 2x the points of a 2BR unit. But, they also tend to book more quickly, so I imagine that they would carry a premium in rental fees.

Definately makes sense, because if you can't re-book within the 60 days you won't be saving. I am renting from Ken in Jan. and he seems like a genuine good guy. Anyone else may have just taken your $ and looked the other way without giving you the correct info about the 60 days out.

Good luck
