I really lucked out and got the Koolaid, Capri and these for buy one box, get one free at a Roundy's grocery store about a month ago. Check amazon grocery too, sometimes they have good sales and free shipping.

I called 3 stores before I found one that carried the capri-sun.I purchased 3 boxes of 10 but I'm thinking I should have gotten more.They were 2$ a box.I may go back and buy some more.I'm going to try one today and see how they taste.Have you tried them yet?I usually buy poweraid in the park so hopefully I'll like these and will save my snack credits for somthing better than a drink.I'll let you know later how the taste test goes later.

Just a thought since we started talking about downgrading,What are the odds that will get upgraded from a 1 bdroom to 2 bedroom.Wouldn't that be something(not that I'm being greedy )

We've tried them, I think they are comparable with Gator/Poweraid as long as they get mixed up well. I'm just going to do the cups of ice water at the parks with them, not bottled water. I bought a 6-pack of Disney character straws at Dollar Tree (heavy duty ones), and they'll be the stirer.

I think the odds are slim for a 2 BR upgrade lol - only because they are a studio and 1 BR combination, but I will keep my fingers crossed that someone in this group gets a 3 BR Grand Villa - wouldn't that be a riot? I wouldn't want one, I'd get lost in it.

When I checked my dates (8/26-9/03) there were no 2bdrm villas available @ OKW. Of course that could change as there may possibly be some people making last minute cancellations depending on what path our "friend" Dean takes in the next few days. I was watching the news yesterday and they said it might hit the US on Wednesday, which is the day our flight leaves. Today it says Thursday. I don't want to wish any bad luck on anyone else, but that was good news to me as I keep telling my kids all we have to do is make it to Orlando...we'll worry about any wind/rain once we get there!

Of course, this may create another problem too -- last year during hurricane season thousands of people actually evacuated to WDW due to the vast amount of hotel rooms available. They won't have luck with that during free DDP this year as there's almost nothing available. I'm sure there's still plenty of rooms off-site. But, the parks will already be crowded -- if a bunch of people head out at the last minute due to weather/power related issues, the attendance figures could really jump...so get there early!

Hopefully, I am playing devil's advocate and none of this will materialize.

Only my opinion but I would not count on anything being changed in OKW from a studio to one bedroom or back. Remember you are at a DVC hotel; I'm a DVC memeber and can tell you there is nothing available at all during that time period. Those of you that received upgrades are getting the inventory rooms that are few in number.

I think if joyerbides checks in fairly early and explains the situation to the front desk they wouldn't have a problem with giving her a studio as a replacement for the 1bdrm. Shoot, just waiting in line she could probably find another person checking in with the free studio upgrade from CRO that would be willing to trade with her. I'm sure it will work out just fine and won't cause any problems with either CRO or DVC inventory.

This is the longest we've ever stayed onsite without having any plans other than WDW...I hope we don't run out of things to do!

However, I sincerley doubt the front desk will help her. DVC hotels CM's are not of the same breed as regular hotel CM's they do not do upgrades, do not allow late check outs, and probably know the least about ticket options as DVC owners generally have annual passes.

Are you staying on points, or is this through CRO? DVC members staying on points very rarely get upgraded (and I doubt many would ever request a downgrade) but in this case where so many rooms were made available through CRO, I still think her chances are quite good to end up with a studio if that's what she really wants. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

BTW, I'm a DVC member too w/multiple contracts @ OKW.

I'm a dvc member and I'm really happy for those that got this upgrade, I just don't think once they check in the front desk is going to do much for them. There seem to be very few empty rooms in this time period anywhere. We are also at pop for the free dining in this same time period, booked 4 of us in Pop and then realized no way could we actually all spend a week in one room, so I booked an extra OkW room on points, so we'd have 2 bedrooms to sleep plus the extra bathroom. Realized then (far too late) that maybe it would be easier if we were at either the BWV or Beach Club so that we could just walk in and out during the afternoon if we wanted a break and then tried switch to either the BWV or Beach Club and couldn't even went on the wait list and nothing came. In the end, it doesn't matter we love OKW but I just don't think many changes are going to happen at check in.

We're going on the 31st of August. We were given the free upgrade from ASMo. I'm not asking for an upgrade, I'm going to be asking for a downgrade. If they don't want to work with me, that's ok. Like I said before, my kids really want the one bedroom. I'm the one with the problem about it. If my DH and I have to split up, then we will. Not a problem, just an inconvience. Our plane gets to Orlando at 2:35 pm. and we are taking the ME. So, we probably won't even get to SSR until after 4:00 pm. All of the rooms may be taken by then anyways. Just to answer some other questions, we are not using points, this is from CRO.

So, I just got an email from Disney regarding my upcoming Labor Day weekend trip I have booked for DFi and me. We booked free dining @ Pop for 3 nts, and Disney just sent an email offering a free upgrade to a studio at either OKW or SSR.
I'm waffling - here are my thoughts - Please help!!!

A) I'm guessing they've overbooked Pop which means it's going to be crazy
B) We stayed at SSR in October and thought it was nice, but big, very quiet and laid back though which is great.
C) we stayed at Pop in January and thought it was just fine, it is what it is, good food court, enjoyed the pool bar, room was fine for the 2 of us on a short trip
D) We're doing DDP which means the food court is a good option to have for CS meals at POP; does OKW have a CS option, I know SSR does, which we did enjoy on our last trip.
E) we really liked the vibe @ OKW when we went to eat @ Olivia's one day for lunch, but isn't it also a big resort, do they take requests for rooms close to the main bldg?
F) we weren't going to rent a car, but if we were to stay at one of the DVC resorts, I think I'd feel obligated to.

Soooo, my fellow DIS'ers, what do you think? I'm not even 100% positive at this point if we're making the trip b/c airfare skyrocketed after we booked and I'm feeling guilty about spending the $ with the wedding 10 months away...thank you for your help!

So your problem is what? Did you not just say "Yes" at the first sentence? I would like to trade places with you. What part of "What a deal!" do you miss here? Go, and have a great time in your upgrade (if you decide to accept this awesome gift).

I'll still be here. I don't leave until the 31st of August. I think lizzymom and I leave the same day . After you leave, it may just be her and I talking. At least I'll still have someone to talk disney with. My family is about tired of hearing about it. I think I have burned them out.

Yay, I'll still have people to chat with! I think I'm probably the last to leave for WDW, since our plane doesn't even leave until 7pm on 8/31. But we figured it's better to get in at night and have the next full day at WDW, than to get up before the sun and travel 1/2 the day and then be all worn out. Because you know if the parks are open when I arrive, I AM going in. It's all I've been able to talk about for months, even my family who is going with us doesn't want to hear about it anymore!
