WWYD? offered free upgrade

No disney visa here either! Did any of you fill out or has done the survey for WDW? I happened to fill out one the same day I received my dream email upgrade. I don't care why or how, I'm just thankful!

I got the survey about staying at Pop Century resort and why I picked it. It had my dates and all. I thought it might be connected but I did not get a pin code.

I was in the same boat! I had the most horrible feeling in my stomach when I had to call my inlaws and tell them we were seperating! We have the most fun staying at the resorts together and traveling on the buses to the parks, etc. So, I called back the following morning and they granted me another wish and we are all staying @ SSR!! We are so lucky! My inlaws are loving me right now! We can't wait!

I got the upgrade, but got Studio. I have been calling since Friday trying to get a one bedroom. Everytime I try they tell me only Studios are available. I just tried again after reading this post and again no 1 bedrooms. I wonder how they assign the rooms. Anyone have any idea??

OK all DIS'ers who got the upgrade. I have a plea for you, lol. Me and my friend are traveling Aug. 26. If anyone has gotten the upgrade but isn't traveling with anyone, and therefore can get 2 more upgrades, PLEASE PM me. I spoke to a supervisor at Disney and all you would need are our reservation numbers and your pin code. They would write a note to my and my friend's reservation with your pin code and then we would have to call back to upgrade, since they won't change a reservation without speaking to the reservation holder.

If anyone can help us out, we would be eternally grateful. PIXIE DUST!

We had a hard time just getting my in-laws upgraded. They have the same last name and had a ressie for ASMU the same time we did.

CM said, NO

Had to call back. Was put on hold over and over.

We have three people in one room, and two in each of the other two rooms. I asked for at least just one 1-br, and got all three. I think it's just the luck of the draw as to what is available for your dates.

I notice that there is also a FL Resident summer special and an AP room-only special rate at SSR and OKW, leading me to think they are the least-booked resorts at this time.

I was told I was able to get a 1 BR because they were still available (the cast member implied it was first come first served for 1Br vs. Studios).

Thursday afternoon. I had come home early from work because my daughter wasn't feeling well (I guess this was a case where something bad had a silver lining--I couldn't have made my hour long call from work.) I was bummed that she was sick AND that I would lose money since I don't get sick leave, but there was that email . . .

My day was kinda like that too! I got the email Friday morning, shortly after finding out that my husband's being laid off. I was still pretty upset about the bad news, but I was so grateful for this dash of pixie dust that I almost cried right there at my desk.

Yes, it seems to be arrivals between 8/26 - 9/1.

I have a question for all of you. Did anyone not get the pin but have a person who was travelling with you get it? Did they upgrade you as well even though you made your own reservation?

The reason I ask is that we have three parties travelling together. We all made our reservations separately. One person got the e-mail and upgrade. I called to get it for me and the other party and they said we could only get it if the upgraded party had made our reservation.

Yes. This happened to me. My niece got the pin. She called me and asked if I got one. I told her no. By the time she got the email, it was 11:00 PM, and Disney was closed. I called the next day at noon, told CM that she got the pin, (we are under 2 different ressies), but we are under one grand gathering number. He checked and we all got the upgrade.

I recieved the email on Thursday afternoon, I booked our room. But, then my best friend called me and said that she had booked for ASSP. I wasn't sure if she was going so never signed up for the grand gatherings. But, on Sunday we called got a Grand Gathering together and she too was upgraded with us to SSR. I am so happy now she will be with us and we can do the Spa thing.

Though I will say to all after you get off the phone with Disney make sure that you check your reservation online. Because when she checked last night half of her party were in ASSP and the other half were at SSR. But, all was corrected by me this morning. She doesn't have the patience.

One reason my friend called and asked me to take the upgrade or not was ....when planning her family's trip she could only afford a value resort and looked into only those , never checking out any of the others. She had no idea about the resorts in the upgrade.




I also want to point out that the sofa bed is a new style , there is no bar in the middle of the mattress to hurt your back. The sofa inverts upon itself and is very comfy. As a big guy I had no complaints about using it after sleeping on it!!

Here's another nice tidbit of info for you! If you're in a 1br you will have your own washer & dryer. If you're in a studio you will have access to a shared one for which you will not need quarters.

Im staying at Pop 8/26-9/2 with free dining I never got this email . Am i the only one? Is Disney still offering the upgrade?
