We (myself and two DDs, 15 and 10) visited WDW in August 2022. We have another short trip coming up in April 2023. Originally, we were going to do two park days, at Epcot and Animal Kingdom. But now Tron will be open when we go.

I went ahead and purchased a three-day ticket because I can't help myself. But when to use our third day?

We arrive on a Wednesday, at MCO if we are lucky by noon. Assume we Lyft our way to the Polynesian. Again, if lucky, we might get to MK by 2 PM. With evening plans in place, we might get three hours at MK total.

Thursday we will be offsite.

Friday is our Epcot day. Saturday is our Animal Kingdom day. Saturday night, we're staying at Old Key West.

Sunday is our departure day - flight leaves MCO at 4:00.

Is it more realisitic to visit MK on Sunday? We are rope droppers, so there's that. And I realize there's no guarantee we'll even be able to ride Tron. Overall, we'll probably have more time. Although we'd probably have to leave the park by lunch anyway to get back to OKW and Lyft back to MCO.

The thought of feeling so stressed on Sunday has crossed my mind. Is there a more appealing scenario I'm not giving thought to?

WWYD?

Without knowing your details, here are all the ways I would consider blowing up your plans 😂😂😂

1 - Switching my evening plans on arrival day to allow more time in MK
2 - Switching my AK day to Sunday checkout day since it is the park that opens the earliest you'd have more time there, and it tends to be the slowest park. Although it is April which is a busy time. That leaves Saturday for MK which isn't ideal for crowds but you'll have the whole day there.
3 - Trying to switch around my off-site day and doing Thursday at MK. Could mix with #2
4 - Doing Epcot on arrival day and switching Friday to MK. I personally love Epcot, but there are fewer rides there so you can get more done in shorter periods of time. I would likely also consider this with #1 of trying to move the evening plans.
5 - Doing a park the morning / evening of your offsite plans if they are flexible. I'd probably do AK if it is morning because it opens the earliest or MK in the evening because it closes the latest.

If you could be happy going to MK and just riding Tron and doing nothing else leave plans as is and just bite the bullet of trying to buy the ILL on whichever day fits in with your current plans best.

Scenario 2 is a consideration. Offsite day is the whole reason we are in Florida at all so can’t move those plans. And dinner on arrival day overlaps with a friend’s plans and it’s the only time I’d get to see her.

All these other things are more important than Disney at this point. I’m just trying to fit it in. In hindsight, I should’ve just purchased a 2-day ticket, or even a park hopper.

Yeah its tough when you have plans in place I guess another option could be MK check-in day --> dinner --> back to the parks but it is a lot.

I guess another thing I would consider is trying to get on an earlier flight in or a later flight out, it is still a while to go between now and August so flight tracking for my dates and rebooking if another option comes up. If your tickets allow changes like that. If not maybe same day change but that is another added cost for what may not be a lot of time.

Could you take advantage of the extra evening hours at MK? There would also (assuming here) be an extra VQ lottery for Tron for the extra hours. You can get a lot done in those couple hours.

I was going to suggest this also but I think the EEH have typically been on Tuesday's at MK :(
